I'd been persuaded to try this venue and the waterhole. May be I had been spoiled by my previous lodge/camps in Namibia but this was way behind, Convenient yes and 24hr access to the waterhole yes. Service is a concept unknown to the whole place. Communal pool free but everything else at a cost. Maintenance neglected: door handle required continual...

I have been going to Okaukuejo for over 20 years, so sad to see on my most recent visit that it has now become so neglected! No maintenance is done! There was no water and electricity for 2 days whilst we were there. Once it came back on, only 1 light was working at the waterhole - you could see...

The camping site is rocky and sandy. It was very busy in November. We lost power so I had to shower in the dark. However the waterhole was an easy walk and lots of area for everybody to sit and watch. I was alone and had 2 rhino's come and drink and sleep in front of me.

Our arrival at Etosha started at te Okaukuejo Rest Camp. The room was nicely decorated but rather small and the shower did not really drain. So we spent most of our time either in the spacious pool or at the waterhole. The waterhole is the real highlight of this camp as you are very close to the animals and especially...

Overall we felt this was a nice camp with good facilities, showers and toilets were good too. We stayed on new year's eve and it was really crowded with some groups deciding to party until after 2am with loud music and singing. We complained but the security didn't do a thing. Fair enough that it was new year's eve, but...

Busy and touristy campsite. The camping spots are not special nor pretty. But this campsite has the best waterhole! The waterhole has even water in dry periods and there is a light. Excellent night animal watching. We saw a troop of lionesses and three black rhinos. And lots of 'common' wildlife like elephants, birds, antelopes, ... Another fun thing about...

Fortunately we only stayed here for one night as we had read reviews suggesting it was not particularly good. I would agree with other reviews that the dinner is not good however the service was good and the staff friendly. If I went again I would request a room where you had outside cooking facilities to do yourself. Breakfast was...

While this is a government run facility, it is adequate. It provides a great waterhole to view the animals during the day and at night. It is very rustic, but the accommodations are clean. The food isn't great, in fact pretty bad, but a person doesn't come to a place like Etosha for the food. It is by far the...

This place is disgusting. It is government run accomodation and the way they treat tourist is not the best! We have reserved our accomodation in October itself for december travel and requested waterhole chalets but we were reserved the bush chalets! This pissed me off. The person checking us in was extremely rude.... they will rip you off wherever they...

We stayed here two nights during our recent trip to Namibia. It was well worth it. The roads to Okaukuejo are some of the best we encountered during our trip here. Given that the rains had just started, we were told there weren't many animals at all at the reception- this was not completely true.We went to the waterhole various...
