The Fort is all about catering to the guests, with personal attention, great service, quality food, and very well-equipped rooms. It is small in the number of guests, which keeps things quiet and quaint. Our room, as part of the main lodge avoided the need for escort back and forth to the individual lodges. It had A.C., free WiFi, complimentary...

Arriving at Onguma the Fort felt like arriving at a luxurious oasis. This was my favorite place to stay in Namibia. It felt luxurious, the staff was attentive, the food was great, the cream sherry decanter in your room every evening was the perfect touch. By the time we got here, we were ready to just relax after a two...

The experience at The Fort was incredible. The staff went above and beyond and were extremely friendly. The accommodation was amazing - beautiful view onto the watering hole from our private villa with an outside shower. The pool is amazing - just the ability to sit and watch the animals come and go was a highlight - same with dinner....

WE spent 2 nights here. The individual "forts" are most impressive and luxurious. If you are fortunate enough to have one facing the waterhole, that is an added bonus. Transport from the individual fort to the main dining are is by golf cart as you are in a private game reserve with predators. Perhaps the most impressive resort we have...

We recently visited Namibia for a couple of weeks and stayed at three high end resorts including Onguma the Fort, just outside the Von Lindequist Gate at the eastern end of Etosha National Park. Our reservation was made many months in advance through Discover Namibia Safari & Tours, who gave the excellent recommendation for a private reserve and property. There...

We were at Onguma the Fort in september 2016. The lodge is directly outside the park. The rooms are excellent and beautifully styled in an African style. The rooms have almost total privacy with a nice view. At night it was almost completely dark so we saw the milky-way. Dinner was Moroccan. The personnel is friendly and competent. It was...

Fort Onguma Designed for comfort This lodge, within its own game reserve and adjoining Etosha National Park, has a unique design and offers comfort in style. Of course, trying to fit Moroccan architecture into a Namibian landscape does stretch the limits! The Bush Suites are spacious, ample, well designed with all modern amenities and overlook the large watering hole where...

My husband and I spent 1 night here during our honeymoon. The rooms have it all - massive bed, kettle and fresh press, HUGE bathroom, desk, and dressing area. The room also has an outside deck area with another shower where you get a beautiful view of the area and a small waterhole. Upon entering the hotel you are greated...

The Fort is a perfect place to explore Etosha and Onguma. Since the moment we arrived we wee treated like royalty. The staff is amazing looking after you every minute of the day. The guides are very good and we had great safaris. The food was very good, always two choices at every meal. They serve a lot of game...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia, built in exactly the right spot to give our guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia. Overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees that dot the landscape. Accommodation consists of twelve Bush Suites with fire places for the winter months and air coolers for the summer months. Each suite has an indoor and outdoor shower. The one and only Fort Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a private viewing deck. ... more   less
