For the price, I really expected just a tad bit nicer of a set up. We got the king bed room #6, and although the bed was nice and big it's certainly not comfortable. The bathroom sink drain was clogged so it took all day while we were gone for it to finally drain after brushing our teeth in the... More

This place has the same look and feel of a motel room that you wouldn't pay more than $60 for, if it existed anywhere else but Leelanau. Unfortunately, you are in Leelanau, so the owners are charging double what they ought for what would otherwise be considered a crap motel of no consequence. That being said, it has a bit... More

I can only agree with the other poor to terrible reviews. Old, outdated, dirty, barking dog, chain smoking owners. I understand times are tough but invest a few dollars in updating or at least a more thorough cleaning.

Website says that breakfast is included - but it isn't. The room appeared to be clean, but very worn and old and no air conditioning. We found a barely working old fan in the closet. Since you have the windows open, you hear cars and trucks and your neighbors throughout the night. It was not what we had expected and... More

We had a delicious breakfast here today. The French toast was absolutely delicious and my husband's eggs were cooked perfectly. Quick service and cash only! Not a good spot for a huge group since the place itself is small. They also serve breakfast all day and offer a lunch menu!

Well, you get what you pay for & then some. I was quoted one price during the winter months when I made my reservation & then at check-in I had to pay significantly more. Take it or leave it I guess, since it was a prime weekend and I needed a place to stay. Shirly didn't seem to care. It... More

I gave the Foothills Motel a good review last year. I found it quaint, quiet and convenient. It does have its advantages, in that it is indeed quiet, compared to downtown Glen Arbor at the height of the season; the location, about ten minutes from downtown Glen Arbor, is convenient; and... that's about it. My mom and I stayed there,... More

The location and value of this small motel are very good. The motel is on a quiet, winding road just five minutes or so from Glen Arbor. The rates were reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The Foothills Cafe is right next door to the motel. The room was outdated, but otherwise it was fine. There were two... More

We stayed here before the Solstice Race. It's tiny and the rooms smell of cigarette smoke and poor cleaning efforts. It's very dated as well. It was servicable for what we needed, but I wouldn't stay again. Additionally, there were a few ants around, which was unpleasant. The cafe is small. The food was good but nothing spectacular. Basic breakfast... More

We visited Foothills on a local recommendation for breakfast. It is a cute place in the woods away from town. The menu is simple, but the food was very good...not greasy and tasted fresh. We were shocked when we received the bill: $24 for two rather straightforward breakfast entrees and just water to drink. Thus a rating of "average." If... More
