This inn is simply delectable--the owners are friendly, helpful and courteous; the rooms are lovely and have personality; the breakfast was beyond satisfying; the gardens tranquil and beautiful; the location is just a 4 minute walk to the waterfront--so just nicely away from the hustle and bustle of main street. It is lovely to sit sipping (wonderful) coffee on the...

we have stayed at many places on the island, but this was our first time at Metivier and recommend it highly. we had a lovely quiet room and enjoyed the warm hospitality and hot, delicious breakfast.. easy walking or biking distance to both downtown or up to the gatehouse and grand. especially loved the beautiful back garden - a tranquil...

We stayed for two nights the last weekend in August, and were in a king room on the 3rd floor. There are no stairs in the building so if you are disabled you need an accessible room there are some on the first floor. We arrived early, and the innkeepers were very accommodating in storing our luggage until our room...

I've stayed elsewhere on Mackinac Island before, including Grand Hotel and Mission Point, and I liked the vibe of this place. Friendly staff, great location and a decent value for Mackinac Island. It's about 100 yards from the Star Line ferry dock so I didn't bother with having my bags delivered because I packed for two nights. The bed was...

We stayed 2 nights in a queen bed room. No problems. Hospitality was top notch and the porch and hot breakfast were both incredible. The ferry gets your luggage to the room, and the inn gets it back to the ferry, very nice. If you have trouble with stairs, this place would present a little challenge, but apart from that,...

I highly recommend this inn! We have also stayed at Bayview of Mackinac and Market Street Inn, which we did enjoy. But we enjoyed Metivier much more, so this would be our pick the next time we stay on Mackinac! The building and grounds are so beautiful. The place really lends itself to spending time relaxing at the inn, so...

We've stayed at the Grand Hotel, the Harbour View Inn and now the Metivier Inn, and this place is our favorite so far. The rooms are comfortable and climate controlled; the breakfast is good. Location is a block off the main drag, which means you're close but not swamped by the activity/noise. The flower garden in the back yard feels...

My wife and I have been to the Island many times. The Metivier is the best place we have ever stayed. We had a standard room (#7). It was pleasant comfortable and a great place to rest and refresh before our next adventure. Its grounds are wonderful. The porch great. The Market Street location keeps things quite yet still in the...

I have stayed on the island many times in different hotels, but this was definitely my favorite experience. My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights for my birthday weekend. The entire stay was amazing. -The location is fantastic. It is right across from Cindy's Riding Stables. If you are in one of the front rooms, you can hear the clip-clopping...

The exterior of the inn is what gives this place the charm that it has. The flower gardens and lawn are beautiful and well manicured. The large front porch is a nice spot to relax anytime of day. There is also a beautiful back yard, so don't forget to visit that as well. There are 22 rooms at this inn,...
