My sister, her husband, my sister-in-law, niece and I spent 2 nights here at the end of August. We had an upstairs suite and a single room. The best things about our stay was the extraordinary breakfast (home-made breakfast casserole, breads and pastries-delicious!) and sitting on the porch planning our day and evening activities. The host and hostess were very...

My husband and I spent five nights at Haan's this past September. We have stayed at many B&B's and this one is among our new favorites. The Inn keeper Larry and his wife were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were very good and served in a laid back atmosphere. The rooms were clean and we really enjoyed sitting on...

This was my wife and my first time staying on the Island. We picked Hans due to the price, location, and the conversation I had on the phone with the Inn Keeper (Larry). Larry and his wife greeted up upon arrival and where super friendly. It was nice to already find our luggage in our room. Check in was easy...

My wife and I booked Haan's for 2 nights in late September. I had not stayed on the island before and only once have I stayed in a B&B. This is an old home that's been restored as a B&B for guests. The easiest way to describe the house is an old Victorian that doesn't have any flat surfaces. From...

My two sisters and I stayed at this B & B earlier this week. We had two rooms - Woolson (which was upstairs but accessed from outside) and Marquette (which was upstairs in the main part of the Inn). Dropped our bags off in the morning and Larry said we could come back around 1 to check in. We didn't...

Lovely home, great hospitality and wonderful homemade delights for breakfast (be sure to try the cherry maple butter on baked bread). Liked the fact it was located near the attractions but away from hustle and bustle.

Enjoyed the Davis room for our honeymoon. Hosts are so welcoming & kind. Good morning breakfast with coffee & juice made by hosts. Room clean, great character, room air conditioner, small but worked for us. Would stay again.

We arrived during a major rainstorm and everything we had was soaked and dripping. We were cold and wet but on arriving our host, Larry, took charge and got us registered , our clothes in the dryer and hot coffee to warm us up. What a wonderful reception for us. We were immediately put in a better frame of mind....

Stayed here overnight. It was close enough to the action, but still quiet. Each room is decorated nicely and the breakfast was terrific. Hosts gave us lots of good advice about where to eat and which carriage company to use. Would definitely stay here again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Haan's 1830 Inn is your Mackinac Island bed and breakfast home. The stately Greek Revival house--built on the foundations of an American Revolution era trader cabin--served as the private residence of Colonel Preston, a Fort Mackinac officer and first mayor of the island. The Inn has been completely restored and now operates as a Mackinac Island B&B to share the grace of history, the warmth of family, and the wonders of Mackinac Island weather. The guestrooms are freshly decorated and furnished with period antiques and quality mattresses. Your host, Nick Haan, invites you to be at home, relax on the wicker-furnished porches, and listen to the cadence of horses as carriage tours pass by on Huron Street. ... more   less
