We camped at the beechwood campground and it was perfect. We were right next to lost lake and Hamlin lake. We floated and swam all day. You can rent kayaks and tubes. The sand dunes are amazing. I would recommend bringing the whole family!

This was a really nice park and not too crowded. A ride in tubes on the lake looked like great relaxing fun but we were not able to partake as we had a dog with us. Great easy trails to hike with pet and places...More

My family and I had a wonderful time camping for the first time at Ludington State Park. The camp grounds them selves vary from site to site but generally offer the same amenities; power for RVs and Campers, showers and bathrooms, picnic tables, and fire...More

This was our first time camping in the US, having always camped in Canada. Did we ever pick the perfect first place to camp at in the States! The location right on Lake Michigan is perfect and the dunes there are spectacular. We had beautiful...More

We got a very clear and sunny sky so we stayed till sunset and experienced the most amazing sunset of our lives. Very well maintained beach and a popular state park. I would try to avoid public holidays for a more peaceful experience.

YES, bring you own rafts, tubes, kayaks and such. Items can also be rented at the camp store.

From what I recall the Lake Michigan beech access had signs about no pets, but maybe the Hamlin Lake access is different. Lots of people had pets at the camp ground when I went, so I'm sure there is something for the pets.
