We spent President's Weekend 2017 (Thurs thru Sunday) at the Classic Motor Inn in Ironwood, MI. We can't say enough about Bob and Annette's hospitality. We were treated like family. Exceptionally clean room and comfy king-size bed--we slept soundly. We were treated to hot coffee and coffee cake, assortment of breads, cereal and fruit, and lively conversation every morning in...

Sure, the décor is a little dated. Who really cares when you just need a place to sleep. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked great as did the AC unit. Plenty of towels and a mini fridge too. I am light-sensitive so the curtains on my second floor room didn't quite make the cut but all in all, a...

Not sure about the other reviews, but this place was not great. There was a old odor to the room which was probably from all the old furniture in the room. Not much updated. The office was not open before 8 am and there's no phone in the room.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable but that's about it. The fluorescent light above the vanity flickered had to be tapped on to turn it on. It didn't want to stay on and flickered often. No coffee pot in the room and no kind of breakfast items in the office, not even muffins or rolls. The office...

Stayed here while XC skiing at ABR. Price is inexpensive and a good value. Room is basic, decent sized, clean, good modern HDTV. Bed was ok, room furniture and decor kind of mismatched, curtains let in a little more light than I would have preferred. Excellent Wood Fired Sauna and Jacuzzi room - the owner even fired everything up for...

Run by a friendly local couple (owner was once the mayor or something I think), it is bare bones simple and basic. Old TV's with cable, plain decor that needs replacing, and okay-comfort beds. However this place has appeal, and is homey. It's welcoming and comfortable. They have an amazing hot-tub and sauna that boasts a real wood-burning fireplace. This...

Excellent value if you want a clean basic old school motel room with a great rate. Good central location for outdoor activities in the area, like the awesome waterfalls in the nearby Black River scenic area.

I contacted the Classic Motor Inn the night I was arriving in Ironwood and they were so kind. They left the room open for us because we wouldn't be arriving until about 3am. The rooms were neat and clean. Bob and Annette are 2 of the kindest people I have ever met. I highly recommend this motel to anyone. Rory...

Clean, comfortable, well maintained and just about the friendliest welcome you could get! What more do you need? And add in a laundrette and a great restaurant right next door that serves very good food at more than reasonable prices and you have all you need on the doorstep. We had a room with two lovely and comfortable queen beds...

We have been staying at the "Classic" (aka the Sandpiper) for years when we come up to stay in the area to ski. Owners Bob and Annette are always friendly, and they can provide advice about anything you need to know about the area. Rooms are "classic," homey, clean, and non-smoking (a must for me). A real UP place to...
