We wanted to stay at a nice and romantic get-a-way and the Colonial Inn lived up to our expectations. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Big bathroom. Lots of Very good restaurants close by. The breakfast didn't quite live up to the reviews and could have had much fresher everything. Overall a great experience.

Over the last few years, I have visited the colonial Inn many times. Over the visits I have learned of the owners, the Browns. They had owned the hotel since 1968. Tim, was the owner, a pilot, and a great author. I loved his book about the hotel. He had two sons who helped out at the hotels at times....

Our room was clean and our beds were comfortable. Although our room was clean, there were some visible webs in the corners and in the little nooks and crannies. Our room came with a serious sauna which we would have loved to try had we stayed longer. The bathroom was really spacious and really nice. The location is definitely perfect...

We were in the newly renovated part of the property. This meant not quite finished in my mind. The walls separating us from the next room we could hear talking, tv, snoring, everything. The closet was finished in raw wood, i think, and all in all it was a lot of money for a poor quality room. The bathroom shower...

The room was exactly as pictured, but in order to get ice we had to go to the main building. Parking was less than adequate. Housekeeping never came to clean our room, so we had to call for more towels. A coffee pot in the room would have been nice. Also no drawers in which to put away clothes and...

Last week we had 4 couples that traveled to Harbor Springs for a long fall weekend. We booked Colonial Inn based on Trip Advisor ratings and the web site. Well we had a real surprise. First there are no "Lake View" rooms in the main house or any room given that the owner built condos blocking the former lake view....

The room was beautiful, big, clean and comfortable. However the room service was lacking. We ran out of both toilet paper and tissue. No one was in the office and no one answered the phone. The outside lighting was terrible because there was none. There were wooden steps leading up to the walkway out side our room. No lights and...

This is a well maintained historic property that has been nicely updated. It is located in a beautiful residential area. We had a very nice room with a balcony and 2 beds. The service was good, with a decent selection for the complimentary breakfast including eggs and sausage. It is a nice walk of about 7/8 mile into town along...

We spent the weekend at Colonial Inn. The room was large and clean; and, a very nice touch was the fireplace. There were 2 wing chairs in front of the fireplace, which we greatly appreciated, as we had a somewhat cool and rainy day on Saturday. The bed was comfortable and there were very adequate linens, with extra blankets in...

This is a pretty-but-worn 120 year old inn, and has the character you'd expect. The decidedly non-flat floor in our room was a fun quirk (since we don't have to live with it!). The area is beautiful, and very walkable. We enjoyed our stay, and were wowed by the size of the room. The gas fireplace warmed the cold, cold...
