Hubby and I had our 23rd wedding anniversary dinner here in August. We figured we'd have to wait a while to get seated on a weekend evening in the summer and we waited about a half hour. They didn't take reservations. We were able to sit outside on their covered patio and watched the passersby on the sidewalk. I ordered a Cesar salad, their mussels appetizer, and one crab cake for my dinner. Everything was very tasty. The crab cake was large and mostly crab which was great. The salad was crisp and cold. The mussels were amazing - so many and no grit. Our server was super friendly and efficient. Their carrot cake is also quite delicious. We are both crab cake and carrot cake and mussels PICKY. Highly recommend this place for dinner!

5 Stars. Now why did I rate that.... PROS: Service staff work values exceed that of a big chain hotel. I mean they truly do everything together which speaks of team work. Room was A+ in every respect. Restaurant food: A. Location: A. Local amenities: B+ (Some stores close earlier than desired, limited choices of stores). PIER FISHING!!!! Beach is a block away. There were two local restaurants we loved: FrankZ's for the best Chicken Tacos and a great Coney and Vita Bella Italian Restaurant for outstanding service and the meatballs and pizza are to die for! Both are superb places, the latter for a great dinner (Wait list is needed though!). Don't know if there is a Bridal suite but room 205 has a huge bathroom, large jet tub separate from the BR, a dry Sauna, King size Bed, eating area, refrigerator (No Microwave) and a nice balcony. CONS: No elevator in this hotel as it is a historic hotel, may be difficult for handicapped; Restaurant days/hours are limited and you will have wait times due to personnel shortage; sundry shop is limited to more souvenir type items but the McRae pharmacy is a block away with everything you would need. Truly need a small microwave as there is none. The front desk is not manned 24 hours BUT there is a general manager on call 24 hours for any needs. Parking is a little chancy (No dedicated Hotel Parking) but the area is not a speedway and getting hotel access improves as the day goes on. At worst, you might have to park across the street or 1/2 a block away. One thing that was disappointing was that there was a huge fish kill on the northern side of the breakwater. That would be a DNR issue but it was rather notable with the heat. The southern part of the breakwater was just fine. All in all, we LOVED going up there and we have a reservation for NEXT year already on the books. Its about 4-4.5 hours from Detroit and about 45 minutes to T. City. If you like QUIET, this is the place. Great hotel gang!

This hotel is very cute and quaint. It is very charming. They have coffee and muffins in the lobby. This hotel has the most comfortable beds I have ever had at a hotel. The pillows were super comfy as well.

We traveled to Frankfort for a long off-season weekend and really enjoyed the hotel which more closely resembles a large B & B. Our room had a small electric fireplace which made it very cozy. The staff was friendly and helpful. While there is no staff onsite overnight we never felt unsafe. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent too – make sure you try the crab cakes!

An older hotel going for a grand feeling at a discount. The room was a tad small. It was very clean though. Also bathroom is kinda tiny, but the walk-in shower is excellent. Also they have large bath towels, big plus. There is no microwave or mini fridge which stinks. The bed is a little too stiff for my tastes, but acceptable.the parking lot is too tiny for a hotel and restaurant. There's maybe 7 spots in back and maybe 7 to 10 in front on main street where anyone can park.  This isn't a negative review though. The room is very comfortable overall. Plus lobby is fun. It really gives you a feel of stepping back in time, but still have  modern amenities. The service is very friendly and helpful! The cleaning staff needs to be more mindful of not talking in hallway, because it's clearly heard in rooms and can wake you if your trying to sleep in! Overall this is a hard review to rank. There's great highs, but many lows too. That being said I've settled on 4 stars. Would I return? Yes, but not on a holiday weekend. Their prices go insane for what you get during holidays. I enjoyed the atmosphere and location location location. One final suggestion they need better blackout curtains! Also BEWARE their WiFi Internet is SLOW!

We thank you for your many compliments, Chris, and a very fair review. We have 4 price levels of rooms: standard (small rooms, small bathrooms, one queen bed), standard plus (larger room and bathroom with one queen bed), double standard (larger rooms with 2 queen beds), and luxury (a mix of amenities such as king bed, jetted bathtub, sauna, in large rooms with large bathrooms). Your stay was in a standard room. Prior to Covid we left the doors of unoccupied rooms open so that one could view our variety. Our prices are also seasonally and demand-based. Our website has all details: thehotelfrankfort.com. Our common room just off the lobby has a Keurig coffee/tea maker, a snack and a microwave. Keurigs and mini-fridges are also in the luxury rooms. Yes, our parking lot is small and we are grateful for the street parking. Additionally, our restaurant and bar serves dinner Thursday - Monday, 4-9pm. In the winter months we will drop this back to weekends only and when room occupancy exceeds 50%. Again, we thank you for your feedback and we look forward to your next visit!

I very much enjoyed my stay in this traditional hotel on Main Street. Pros: one of the best whitefish dinners I've had in the adjacent dining room, accompanied by a delicious shrimp bisque, and local craft cider. Staff called me when my table was ready so no waiting. Comfortable, quiet and clean room. Walking distance to picturesque beach on Lake Michigan and inland lake. Cons: Walk up flight of stairs to the rooms, which wasn't a problem for me but might have been for someone with cumbersome luggage. Small bathroom, shower only.

Thank you for your compliments. I will pass along to the Chef your praise for his Whitefish (his Crab Cakes are wonderful too!). So sorry for our staircase only, but we are happy to help with luggage. And, yes, your room was in our 'standard room' category and is a smaller room with smaller bathroom. We have other rooms available, which can be viewed on our website, including jetted bath tubs and saunas in much larger rooms.

Hotel Frankfort is a beautiful property located right in the heart of downtown. With numerous restaurants and the main beach just a few blocks from the Hotel, this is the place to stay if you are headed to Frankfort.

Watch out for their deeply unethical cancellation policy, where you might find yourself paying in full for a room you can't use, even if you give them a week's notice when you have to work a 13 hour ICU shift during a global pandemic. You might think that's a good excuse...

The staff was excellent and the location perfect. The hotel is very quaint but our room needed some wall repair and paint. The room also was a bit musty. We were surprised that there was a limited parking for guests and it was filled when we arrived. Luckily there was some on street parking close to the hotel.
