Detailed Reviews
This was a good, but not particularly memorable stay.
The Good:
* The property is nicer than the hotels we normally stay at (more modern, in better condition).
* The location is excellent.
* The pool is comfortably warm. (Most hotel pools are uncomfortably cold).
The "OK"
* Breakfast was fine, but not exceptional.
Be aware:
* The price seemed high for what you get. The property is noticeably nicer than the hotels we typically stay at (Comfort Inn or similar). However, it was _a lot_ more expensive. Yes, Frankenmuth is a tourist town; but, it was dead in the middle of winter , and the hotel seemed to be only 1/4 full, so the price seems absurdly high.

Stayed here with a group for a one night stopover hotel. For that purpose, it sufficed. It is an older Fairfield property and could use some updates. The bathroom was very small, and that is something that a remodel cannot update. Most of the hotel industry is now being forced to use dispense bottles in the shower. I am fine with that UNTIL I get in the shower and find that the housekeeping staff has NOT REFILLED 2 of the 3 dispensers! DO YOUR JOB thoroughly!! I was okay with the average room, but the lack of soap and shampoo really irritated me and therefore I did not leave with a positive feeling regarding this property.

Stayed here for one night when traveling through Frankenmuth. I had stayed here 15 years ago and I honestly did not see any changes. It has a prime location on Main Street within walking distance of the tourist attractions. If you stay off season or during the week, it is an affordable choice. During the holiday season when rooms are at a premium, this property is not worth the high prices that they are able to charge. The breakfast room was much smaller than the typical Fairfield Inn. The rooms are outdated but it was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. The newer built properties over in Saginaw just 20 minutes away are a much better choice unless you want to be on Main St. Frankenmuth.

Came up for the Psychic Fair with 3 friends and decided to make a weekend of it. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member, so suggested staying at this location. The room I was in had two queen beds. The sink was outside of the toilet/tub area. We were on the 3rd floor. Did notice there were lots of children using the pool who didn't look supervised, even at almost 10:00pm. Room was clean and served its purpose, although I thought it was overpriced (had just spent two nights at the Inn at St. John's for a conference for same price as one night at the Fairfield). Some observations about the room: (1) no kleenex; (2) light for toilet/bathtub area had a very noisy fan that went on when the light was turned on; (3) the tub had a concave bottom with little flat area, so a bit of an issue standing in it, especially with the shower linger being longer than normal and pooling in the bottom of the tub (recipe for a slip and fall). Had a connecting room with my other friends, and noticed the connecting doors when opened would not stay open, but would swing shut. That became a problem the morning of checking out because we went into the other room through the connecting door to leave for breakfast together and the door swung shut and locked. I had forgotten to take the bar lock off our room door. So kudos to the front desk person for getting our door unlocked in a very timely fashion (she noted people looked themselves out 3 to 4 times a month). Breakfast included in the price of the room was average, featuring turkey sausage patties (yuck), scrambled eggs, bagels, fruit, yogurt and cereal (no sweet rolls).

As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member (100+ nights per year) I have to say this was the WORST experience I have ever had with any Marriott property. The staff was not only unresponsive (sitting in the back room laughing and talking while I waited nearly 10 minutes to check in), they were incredibly rude. One of the very small (and getting smaller) perks of being loyal to a hotel is a simple gift of a free bottle of water upon check-in. When I asked for mine, you would think I was asking for the gold from Fort Knox when the reply from the clerk was, "No, you aren't an ambassador level, and only they are worthy of complimentary water." Really? If it was not late at night and I wasn't only staying one night, I would have left. To top it all off, when I got to my room the TV in the room didn't work. Given how poorly I was treated by the staff, I didn't even mention it. I did ask for the general manager to please call me, and to no surprise that didn't happen either.
Frankenmuth is a lovely town, and there are lots of hotel options. Stay away from here!

Very convenient location in downtown Frankenmuth. Room has a large shower, is clean, and has all the standard amenities. Breakfast is nice. Our 2 queen bed room was cozy/tight for 4 adults. But the most memorable part of our stay was discovering the future clogger above us with the amazing ability to stomp the entire length of the hotel room for extended periods of time. I missed the notice that Bavarian stomping auditions were being held in the hotel. And best of all, he/she is an early riser! I hope the parents fed thumper lots of sugary cereal to energize their little dynamo. By the end of our stay, I (and some other hotel guests) really wanted to see if the kid could fly from the highest floor, hold their breath underwater in the pool for 15 minutes, or go play in traffic. Hotel management did call the room to tell them to control the noise and it improved somewhat. In all, the hotel is a decent choice if you’re staying in Frankenmuth. Great location within walking distance to everything other than Bronner’s. I strongly recommend staying on a high floor if you don’t like clogging or stomping though. Or wear earplugs.

Stayed here over the holidays for a small family vacation, the room was okay, the elevator is very sketchy and there parking lot was FULL of ice and rather than salting they just put up signs saying "Be careful cause u might fall" which wasn't ideal with a baby. Lastly they don't have safes in there rooms so make sure to lock any and all expensive items in your suitcases because we had a very expensive item go "missing" after the maids cleaned our rooms and all the manager could say was well we didn't see her do it on camera so there's nothing we can do. Very disappointing

as seasoned Marriott hotel goers we were pleased with our stay. Upon check in we were greeted by smiling staff members. We had a large spacious room. Which worked great for us as we were on a shopping trip so we had space to put everything. We loved being able to walk the strip when we wanted. The hotel breakfast in the morning we enjoyed, when something ran out we were able to ask a staff member within a few short minutes more food was brought out. We enjoyed the hot tub after a long day shopping and exploring.

We booked this hotel with a group of friends, as it was listed as one of the hotels for the 80’s fest we were going to. We arrived at 4 with rooms still being cleaned. We were getting dressed in our individual rooms for the event and when we came downstairs to leave the rude girl at front desk said she had gotten multiple complaints about the noise from all of our rooms and if she got 2 more we would be kicked out! We were more than surprised as we were in separate rooms getting dressed, not partying and there were several others at hotel there for this event. I said are you sure it was us? She said you were all described. What?!! I told her that was unfair and if someone complained they should have come up to check it out not just assume it was true and continue to get ruder as we explained we were respectful and it could not have been us. We are gold elite members and adults we do not act that way at a hotel. Apparently, there was an older woman walking the hallways looking at who had their doors cracked and just wrote down room numbers and complained on those. Hotel did not check it out, care for our response just took her at her word and continued to treat our group poorly. The girl at front then said we were being too loud in the lobby as we were leaving. At end of night our friends were in their room watching tv, eating pizza and talking amongst themselves and apparently were called on again.
Also, free
Breakfast in morning had no coffee, runny eggs and orange juice machine broken. Tv in our room also had settings locked and tv was so dark you could not see it.
If you don’t want to host groups for events, don’t be listed as a hotel for one. If you don’t want people talking list your hotel as quiet hours 24 hours a day or notify your other guests when there is an area event with people staying there that have groups so they can choose to stay elsewhere.
In any case, Poor quality for a Marriott and not the customer service you would expect from them. Will never stay at this hotel again.

This was our fifth stay at this hotel. We've stayed at just about every hotel in town, and they all offer pretty much the same experience and level of accommodations, so you're best off just choosing based on price (unless you want a river view or child-friendly amenities).
The hotel didn't seem as clean as usual (debris in hallways and lobby), and our keys would not open the door of the first room we were assigned, so we were given an alternate. It looked pretty much as expected.
We slept well enough. The next morning we had a quick look at the breakfast offerings (yuck), checked out, and went to a Starbucks off the highway instead on our way up to Mackinac Island.
I would consider staying here again for a short one-night stay, but if I were to make a weekend of it, I would choose the Marv Herzog or Bavarian Inn for the slightly better accommodations, views, and atmosphere.

My room did have AC. We did however travel during the Christmas season.
You will have to phone the lodge directly. It was not open when we were there in late August, but the governor allowed for opening of gyms recently, which SHOULD mean pools as well.
"under renovation (04/24/24) so no pool and the free breakfast was just in a room - limited but good."Read full review
