Detailed Reviews

From calling in to make the reservation, to the ease of checkout, everything went smoothly and was met with friendly staff. Our room was beautiful and we loved the touch of the retro fridge and microwave. Just darling. Access to the park was easy and we loved the ability to use the park after checkout and had use of the locker rooms before leaving. The cafe was tasty and our server was very friendly and great conversation (even though our kiddos were a bit over excited and couldn’t sit still!) Which brings me to say I loved the little tv area where they could go hang out a little bit while waiting for food. I hope we can make this trip again! I highly recommend everything about our experience! Thank you for a great trip for our daughters 7th birthday 💕

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed in a family loft with 3 adults and 6 children. It is listed as a room for nine. There are three beds and a pullout couch. One of our children used the couch cushions and made a bed from that so it worked out just fine! The staff was very prompt in delivering extra blankets to our room. And answering questions via text.
One word of caution, Noise echoes quite a bit in the loft room. We shared this space with my nieces and nephews. The kids were so very excited to see each other that it made for a very long night with them, laughing and giggling while the adults were trying to sleep!
The refrigerator is in a weird spot underneath the stairs. Everyone hit their head at least three times during our stay as well.
We will definitely return to splash Village, but will most likely pick a different room Due to the layout and the way noise travels within the room. A plus is that we did not hear any noise from the hallway, rooms beside us, above us or below us!
Both the waterpark and the water were warm. There were always clean towels to use. The lifeguards were attentive. Even though it was spring break, there were plenty of tubes for the waterslides and lazy river And there seemed to be plenty of chairs for those not playing in the water.

We took a trip to Zehnder's, our first chance to take a vacation in 10 years, and it was completely wonderful. I can't express enough how attentive and polite all of the staff were. They went out of their way daily to help us and were especially compassionate to our youngest, who is a non-verbal Autistic. Between multiple people offering ear plugs when they saw him plugging his own to the kindness of the woman working the Cafe (I believe her name was Cindy) who gave him the leftover giant donut at the end of the day, everyone was so wonderful. The food at the Cafe was delicious, it was the best cauliflower pizza I've ever had and the Michigan Cherry Salad was fantastic. The kids loved the regular pizza, chicken strips, and fries. The splash park itself is a lot of fun; we especially liked the "current" river in the atrium section. The slides were fun too but our pace was more relaxation. We didn't get to use the indoor pool, though it looked nice, but the outdoor pool was great. Nice courtyard, deep enough to enjoy but not so deep we had to overly worry about the kids. Every lifeguard was polite and it was nice that they don't yell; just blow the whistle to get attention then explain to the kid why they can't do whatever prompted the intervention. Our room was on the ground level and was comfortable. There was a mini-fridge, a safe, a coffee machine with k-cups, and numerous TV channels for the kids unwinding at the end of the day. The shower even had a retractable clothesline for drying bathing suits built into it. Most importantly, the room was very clean. Housekeeping was polite and friendly, always able to help. The hotel itself is situated perfectly, with Bronner's just to the south and the rest of the town a few minutes drive, or shuttle ride, to the north. We had no real expectations as we'd never visited before and we were blown away. Safe to say, we'll visit again. Thank you to all at Zehnder's who helped make our first vacation, in such a long time, such a wonderful one. Your efforts were most definitely noticed and appreciated.

First time staying here. I had booked the room several months back for two nights to attend the Auto Fest. My husband and I checked in Friday afternoon. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The issue was that the toilet barely flushed as soon as it was used. I contacted personal concierge through text service and notified them. Response promptly received stating "I'm sorry about that, I will have someone come and look at that for you." That was at 5:43 p.m. 9/6/24. Never heard back from anyone. My husband and I figured by 8:00 p.m. no one was coming to take a look, so we patiently let it go and the next morning at 7:00 a.m. my husband went to the front desk and firmly said the toilet is still not working and would not flush, still waiting for assistance. He was told maintenance gets in at 8:00 a.m. and would be up to the room as soon as they get in and would call first. We waited until 9:00 a.m. and at that point, I exhausted my patience as it had been 15 hours with no toilet. Not acceptable when paying nearly $400 a night. We went to front desk, spoke to staff and asked to check out because we did not want to stay another night. We got a refund for Saturday and a discount for Friday night, which was fair because we did stay there and shower. The clerk was a young lady, and she handled the situation professionally and did great for such a young worker. It was disappointing to not have basic amenities available when the whole point of booking the room was to be comfortable and enjoy the car show.

Was NOT worth the price. We got upgraded to a bigger room and I ended up having to pay an extra $40 that I did not want to do. I booked a room a month in advance and still got “upgraded” but I had to pay the difference. No explanation. Secondly, the room had 3 tvs and only 2 worked. The bathroom lights and half the room lights did NOT work either. The mini fridge wasn’t cold and was sweating inside. Beds were uncomfortable. Lastly, how is it even possible for a billion dollar company to NOT offer complimentary breakfast when you’re paying $350 per night to get to stay in a room for 19 hours total?! They wanted $15 for breakfast buffet. That was packed full before 9am. They charge $13 for 10 breadsticks, $10 for chips and a SMALL cup of queso?! Barely a single portion. Like are you kidding me?! Highly absurd. Honestly wasn’t even worth the money! So many inconveniences and the staff was rather rude about my inconveniences even though they promise “quality” !! Don’t waste your money on a room. Just buy a day pass for the water park! The arcade is also high priced!

Awesome family time! It was 9 degrees outside and we thought we were in the tropics. Very clean park, so well maintained and all staff we came in contact with were so very helpful. We stayed in a loft suite with a bath and half with 4 adults and 2 kids and it was great! When we arrived, expecting to just use changing room and be in the park until room was ready, we were pleasantly surprised...with a "your room is ready"! We put our things away and headed to the waterpark. We had kids 4 and 6 and all aspects of the park were perfect for them. Young one couldn't do all the slides but was able to do most and found other things to do. We purchased the room and food package which I would do again, breakfast was SUPERB each day, whomever is in charge of that is to be commended! Yum! We chose Zehnders for dinners and took the shuttle each evening. It is a whole experience there and in a lovely location. There was something that everyone loved! The kids were thrilled with the animals that come on the icecream at the end and because we went several nights, they were both able to get the whole collection! Beds in the hotel very comfy and clean, clean, clean. Even though the hotel does the best they can asking that quiet time be respected at night, bring your earplugs as adults and children ran up and down the hallways well past the "quiet time". Courtesy to others in rooms sleeping in a hotel must not be taught anymore.
This was our first visit to the area and to Zehnders but our whole party agreed we will make the trek many more times! There was so much more we didn't even get to do. It is a beautiful town, great family hotel and wonderful service! Well done Zehnders!

We stayed in a Dragonfly Waterpark view room with reserved seating the night of 3/1. The room was very clean, I always do a wipedown with disinfectant wipes upon entering every hotel room and was happy at how clean the room was.
We stayed the night of 3/1 because I had called several weeks prior and inquired over the next several weeks what the least busy time and was told 3/1 and 3/2 as is it mid week, and not one of the weeks many schools are on midwinter or spring break. That was such a wonderful recommendation as there was not many people. No lines for any of the slides or food, overall it was not very busy. We seen staff walking around with cleaner and wipes as well. The Waterpark is kept very clean. Our family, who hasn't done alot during COVID times, felt very safe.
We ordered room service twice, both times the food was very good and delivered quickly. We were able to pay an extra fee of $56 to get a late checkout of 4pm. I really appreciate this as an option when the hotel is not busy. It is so much nicer to be able to enjoy the park, leave everything in our room, and come back early afternoon to shower, dress, and packup to head home, which is about 3.5 hours away.
Our 3.5 and 5 year old did not want to leave, we had such a fun time. We highly recommend Zehnders and are already working to plan our next trip back.

Had a blast big enough not to get bored but small enough that kids of different ages all have something to do and can be easily supervised. We had a loft room with balcony and fireplace this is our forth time here. Food was good but unfortunately our pizza was a little burned this time. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Only one concern they switched to glass cups instead of plastic in the rooms and being that it was my daughter bay party I didn't want 6 kids running around with glass and they did not offer plastic cups from the hospitality staff. I would recommend this place to anyone and cannot wait to come back here in august.

Clean facilities, friendly staff, good food and very fair prices ( unlike other Waterparks we've been too with lousy food that is way over priced) there was a section of the water park for the little ones closed for improvement when we stayed, but our 9,7 and 5 year olds had so much fun, you wouldn't have know. All the family activities are great! The arcade was fun too, with decent prizes to choose from as well! I strongly encourage buying the meal package for the family style dinner at Zehnders restaurant and the breakfast buffet at splash village. HUGE savings for us and the Reservation assistant even helped calculate it to make sure it was a savings before we added it on the room. We will definitely be back and will stay longer than 1 night next time! It's November now and I feel I should book it now for next summer. Thus place was sold out and I had called for two weeks just to a room due to cancelation! Book it now!!!
Oh and park at the hotel, there is a shuttle that will run you to town. Soooooo much easier than trying to park in town!
But this is a must do in Michigan! Enjoy 😁

Had so much fun. Two Grammas took two grandsons for an overnight. We all swam and played from 2 to closing at 10pm check in day. Our room was beautiful and bigger than most chain hotels. We got up and ate some breakfast, checked out at 11 and swam till 3. They have towels and life jackets every where, food order window in the park and tables to hold your things and eat at. Or get dressed (with shoes) and eat in the restaurant. Mid week is least expensive and less crowded but weekends with the hotel booked solid it wasn't terrible. There's an Arcade there also. Kids love it but it'll cost you more than the room for an hour of entertainment. Prizes are garbage, we went home with 2 $54 whoopy cushions that lasted two farts. You can buy just armbands for the day but each room comes with 4 (or max room capacity) armbands included that cover arrival day and departure day park time. There's also a shuttle to take you to downtown if you can get the kids out of the park and its in walking distance of Bronners. This was our second visit and we're already planning our next.

In the busy season, yes! That was our favorite place in the waterpark. We visited in the fall and it was still busy but it wasn't crowded enough to make reserved seating necessary. We could find seating anywhere.
We had beer and drinks at the pool side
