There are simply not enough words to express how wonderful this place is. The rooms are all unique, we stayed in he Windsor Suite, which was the master bedroom for the original owners, the only one with a fireplace. Housekeeping is amazing and the rooms, dining rooms, lobby etc., are all impeccably maintained. The dining experience is to die for....

We found English Inn because we were looking for something a little different in the MSU area. We were completely surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Relaxing dining experience with excellent food and service. After-dinner stroll around the charming grounds is a treat as well. Don't miss it if you're in the area.

For a girls get away a couple of us stayed last year in the actual inn. This year a few of us returned and stayed in one of the out cottages. It was awesome! The bath was huge (with glass french doors so don't stay with someone you don't like - although the toilet part is tucked away), an amazing...

We dined at the restaurant last evening to celebrate a special occasion. Both of us thought at first that this would be an excellent place to return to for future special events. The atmosphere did not make up for the food sadly. The french onion soup was sharp tasting, nearly like that of worcestershire sauce. The prime rib (ordered to...

We started with the cheese plate, jumbo shrimp and figs. The cheese plate was good, the crackers could have been better as they were butterfly crackers or ones you just find at any old supermarket. The 'jumbo' shrimp were small and definitely not worth the $12. I could have gone to Kroger and got the same ones. The dinner rolls...

The elegance of the early 1900's has not been lost at this out of the way mansion. While we didn't stay overnight the rooms are mostly original decor and well preserved. I had to smile because this is exactly the kind of intimate place I looked for to take my wife before we were married. Grounds are large enough for...

My wife and I decided to stay at the English Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we stayed in the IVY Cottage...very quite and private with fantastic views. The room was recently redone and is quite cozy. However with the beautiful venue the dinner that evening was lacking. Both my wife and I ordered the prime rib dinner. Both dinner...

We have stayed here a total of 4 times now. We stay in the Croquet cottages, which are posh and elegant feeling while still being incredibly cozy. We often splurge and add the "Complete Romance" package to our room which includes champagne and a 5-course meal. I have never had a better meal in my entire life. I've tried the...

The English Inn is located about ten minutes South of East Lansing. It's the former home of an auto baron, built in the late 20's. There are rooms in the old house, where we stayed, but there are outlying cottages with what you could call updated fixtures and comforts. The Inn has a restaurant on the main floor (I'll post...

Occasionally, when you may least expect it, you come across a spot in the world where time seems to have stood still, where graciousness of spirit and personal attention to detail still thrive, where the hustle and bustle of the modern world are shut and the lingering taste of a good Burgundy on your palate is all that matters.
