We were lucky enough to spend a week at Turtle Bay Eco resort in August. The resort is the only one on Cayos Cochinos, which is just magical. You virtually have this piece of paradise to yourself. It is a beautiful island with the most perfect turquoise ocean water, gorgeous reefs and stunning sunsets. The resort itself is lovely. The...

This trip was something else, it was breath taking from the moment we got there. The staff was super inviting at Turtle Bay. I highly recommend diving, the reefs have lots of different fish to see. Hiking to the fishing villages showed us the beauty of different parts of the island. Waking up to the sound of the ocean every...

Overall this trip was a success! Upon our arrival into San Pedro Sula from Florida we were welcomed by a representative of Turtle Bay Eco resort. From there we all boarded a van and headed to Ceiba, where we would be accommodated for the night at hotel Paris. The bus ride into town was very comfortable. The driver was extremely...

Staying at Turtle Bay Eco resort was an absolutely incredible experience! Waking up to the sounds of the ocean every morning and the breathtaking views made a perfect start to my day. Jason, Brian, Lisanne, and Kay were such an amazing crew who were so welcoming and accomodating. Working in a similar service industry, made me really appreciate how important...

I've been to some pretty rural places in the world. That being said I'm able to live without wifi, ice, and some of the things we take for granted in the states. If you are someone who relies on these types of pleasures then this may not be the place for you. However if you are the type of person...

Just had one of the best weeks of my life with 9 of my friends in paradise! I was so impressed with the beauty of the reef. It was the most gorgeous blue water I've ever seen, and the sunsets lit the horizon a blaze every night. It was beyond gorgeous. The staff made my entire trip, such wonderfully helpful...

I surprised my wife with our destination of Cayos Cochinos for our honeymoon. It was much different then we expected, but was a great trip overall. I highly recommend having your e-learning portion of PADI certification done before you arrive in order to maximize dive time and enjoy your vacation. This was our first time scuba diving, and it was...

Mr. Kenny, Thank you for such a wonderful review! You are correct, that coming to such a remote island requires our clients to be aware for what the resort offers. We would all love to have you back, and with regards to your comment toward communication, there has been a change of management on island, and we are creating a...

Just returned from 2 glorious weeks of diving in Cayos Cochinos at Turtle Bay. This beautiful laid back place offers THE best diving in the Bay Islands. It is easy to get there as the owner arranges a taxi to La Ceiba if you desire or the Hedman Alas in San Pedro Sula has several buses a day to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located on the untouched, tropical island of Isla Major in the Cayos Cochinos archipelago, Turtle Bay Eco Resort is situated on a 10 acre site hugging the shoreline of the Caribbean Sea. The crystal clear waters off the coast of the island are enhanced by the world's second largest barrier reef providing a stunning backdrop to your relaxing vacation. Turtle Bay Eco Resort was grandfathered into the Cayos Cochinos Marine Park and to this day, remains the exclusive resort or hotel in the area. This exclusivity remains one of the sole reasons that Cayos Cochinos has preserved its pristine waters, lush tropical forests and it's completely unique experience. Staying at the Turtle Bay Eco Resort is more than just a vacation at a Caribbean hotel, it is the feeling you get upon arrival, the complete relaxation of your body throughout your stay and it's the feeling of leaving more as friends than guests. As a resort with only 5 rooms, our small and intimate feel allows you to get to know our staff and let them guide you through the wonders that this incredible location can offer. We offer private diving, dining, hiking, kayaking, island touring and much more. After a long day of exploring the Cayos Cochinos, why not settle down with a delicious cocktail to enjoy watching the sun as it sets right in front of our bay. Even though we are only 24 miles from Roatan or Utila, our island paradise separates the hustle and bustle to give you what you are really searching for. ... more   less
