We have just spent 3 nights here and no matter how hard you try you cannot fault the hotel. Gary and Donna are so welcoming and they cannot do enough for you. We were fortunate enough to have booked the wine tasting /tasting menu break and all I can say is bring on the next one. The food was exceptional...

We chose this hotel for my 70th after reading the high praise of all the reviews. Couldn't really be that good, could it we thought? Oh yes it could, and then some! Only seven rooms each named after a Lakes landmark. Our room, Bowfell, was delightful with views up the fell beside the house, others look out over the valley...

This was our second visit to Hazel Bank and it was every bit as good as we remembered. Gary and Donna have created a unique experience here where a sociable chat to fellow guests is not just encouraged, it's practically impossible to avoid! This, along with the natural beauty of Borrowdale, lovely comfortable rooms and locally sourced food to die...

We recently had a relaxing weekend break at Hazelbank and we're looked after very well by Gary ,Donna and their staff. Our room, Castle Crag was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Food at both breakfast and dinner was delicious. Gary advised us on wines to accompany our evening meals , we particularly enjoyed the Chardonnay on...

Yvette booked the Hazel Bank for a short break in the Lake District over her birthday and even with the endless snow/rain we had a great base to stay. We stayed for 3 nights having dinner at the hotel on 2 of those nights. Our room (Bowfell) over looked the car park and the entrance to the great house which...

We have walked past this hotel many times on our favourite Borrowdale walk. Needing a break in a grim November we remembered Hazel Bank and booked 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast. The whole stay was excellent; lovely breakfast with lots of choice, a perfectly created set evening meal executed with great skill, and superb wine list presented by a...

My wife and I spent 4 nights in October; we had an extremely enjoyable stay in this beautiful part of the Lake District. Our room (Great Gable) is at the front of the property, and enjoys panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. The room is very well appointed, and the newly installed bathroom is also spacious, with an excellent rain-head...
