We were just passing through and this is a great comfortable. place with a superb restaurant. The wine bar looked fantastic but I didn't get a chance to stay for a glass. Would like to the next time, I am in the area.
Rooms were super clean, beds comfortable, and so much room! I will definitely stay again. The wine bar downstairs, Table 212, has a great atmosphere and friendly/fun piano man. Everything about our stay was awesome.
My husband and I were visiting Grayling and decided at the last minute to go to Cadillac. We had eaten at Hermann's years ago and hubby suggested we try the hotel. We couldn't have been happier. The room was charming---brick wall, comfortable seating area with new TV----and most important to me------very very clean!!! The bed and pillows were comfortable and we had a great nites sleep. Although the building is in a downtown block, parking and hotel access(but check in through the front) is convenient in the back. A short walkway from parking takes you directly to upstairs rooms. Usually we try to eat away from our hotel, but in this case, we ate at both the cafe and the wine bar and both times the meals were excellent! And the wine bar had a piano player who was great. Breakfast wasn't available but there is a wonderful Breakfast cafe in the next block. Oh and one more thing---the staff was friendly and helpful and Chef Hermann repeatedly checked in while we were at dinner to make sure all was well. The cafe had outdoor seating below our room but the muffled sounds of the downtown area was not loud. It was truly a charming, clean and wonderful experience--------so different from the sterile, bland chains!!!!…
Initially I was hesitant about staying at a hotel that wasn’t the usual, Holiday Inn, Hilton, etc., but it didn’t take long to realize this was a great decision! Quiet, historical, clean, private with an award winning restaurant next door is what it has to offer. Checking in was a little odd as I found someone in the restaurant after calling to find out how and where I go to check in. This was just part of the ambiance of this place I soon realized. Safe and quiet. I will stay again, very satisfied!
Nice room, large room, comfortable bed, clean. The room is a little dated, but I was impressed on cleanliness. I had room #2 which faces the main st., there was a little bit of street noise but not bad, the street light was very bright outside the window but they had blinds that blocked out most of the light. I would definitely stay again.
