We stayed at the Birch Run Comfort Inn several years ago and decided to return. We were not disappointed. This is a very nice, clean hotel with great rooms. it is conveniently located a few miles from Frankenmuth and is a great value.
We have stayed here several times. Good spot between our kids' home and ours. This time Joe checked us in. He was so pleasant to chat with after a long Easter Sunday. Made us laugh. They had popcorn for us. Room was quiet and very clean. We like the room dark for sleeping and this one was. Pool was open, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was good. The breakfast attendant does a great job. As a matter of fact, she checked us out when the front desk clerk was called away by another guest. Well trained staff. As soon as we got into our room, the fire alarm went off, but it was quickly corrected. WiFi was good. Only complaint is that TV channel choices are not the best. Very limited. Otherwise, they would have had a 5.
We stayed 3 nights during the Frankenmuth Autofest and enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the property was clean and well maintained. We will stay here again for next year's Autofest! It is located close to the Birch Run outlet mall and it's a 15 minute drive to Frankenmuth.
We went up to Frankenmuth the weekend of the car show not knowing it was happening. The place was clean and quiet although the price for our second night almost doubled due to the car show and when we inquired about a 3rd night the price would have almost tripled from the first night. We decided not to stay the 3rd night. The pool was quite cold, and the hot tub wouldn't run half the time and made a high-pitched whistling sound when it did.
The hotel room was outdated and the walls were dirty. The only decent thing was the bed was clean. We paid $198.00 for the room and it was not worth the money at that price at all. It should of been a lot cheaper for how dirty the walls were-just needs cleaned and updated.
We arrived without around reservations 3pm but they had a room available. They couldn’t run our CC the normal way because the internet/Wi-Fi system was down which meant the tv also was unavailable they thought it might be back soon but it was another 24 hrs. The pool was closed with an approximate time it could reopen, it was open by next day mid-day. We were told the place had recently been sold ?? so not sure exactly who currently owns it because the comfort inn sign was no longer on the entry wall. Once the tv service was resumed they couldn’t give me a channel guide because the system was new. The room was clean and the bed comfy but we won’t be back. PS - Also spoke to a Rose exterminator in the hall and kiddingly asked if I should be worried he was there and he said you never need to worry if he’s on the job?? Not a great experience since we seldom travel and hotel it.…
We have stayed at Comfort Inn MANY times and this is the worst one I have been to. Me and the wife stayed for 3 days so she could go to Frankenmuth for some Christmas shopping. During those three days the trash was only removed once. When we left I forget my insulin in the refrigerator when we was almost home. My wife called there right away to let them know that we had forgotten it and asked them if they could retrieve it for us. They said CALL BACK Tomorrow instead of getting it right away and holding on to it. Of course when we called back the next day they said the housekeepers had thrown it away. It was in a plastic bag with my name on it. They could have taken it to the office. Unbelieveable.
The hotel is definitely an older property. We prefer more updated hotels however we had a free night of our 3 night stay. We did request to move rooms following our first night due to the over whelming smell of weed during the night, we were in a corner room next to an entrance initially and was able to be moved to more of the middle area of the hotel and it was a lot better. The walls seem to be thin or the neighbor on our last 2 nights spoke very loudly, while annoying not fault to the hotel. While the rooms felt outdated, we did feel they were clean. Water pressure is amazing. Any staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was slim and I was not a fan but again it was free. I probably would not stay here again if I had other options but it worked for a few days.…
Very nice stay. Convenient location. Nice pool and hot tub area. Everything amazingly clean. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Very comfy beds…Now, all that being said, you can get all that stuff at a lot of hotels , but what we got at this hotel is much much harder to find. The customer service is over the top. Peggy checked us in and attended to our every need and answered our questions before we knew to ask them. It is very hard to find someone who you feel actually cares about you, your experience at their hotel and their hotel itself. It’s obvious Peggy loves her job and her Hotel. Thank you Peggy!
We chose this hotel because of the ratings and could use our Choice Hotel Points. Would liked to have stayed a bit closer to our destination (Ann Arbor, MI), but the Choice hotels available did not have as good of a rating or we've stayed before and were not pleased. Anyway, I do think this location lived up to their rating. Very nice and clean hotel. Great HOT breakfast offers to take and eat in your room or whatever. Nice to see they used Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches which are very good. The staff was friendly, caring, very helpful and did want us to enjoy our stay. We only had one issue, which was disappointing, but in speaking with the manager, they, like so many other places in the USA right now are short staffed and doing their best to make sure things are right. Even though being short staffed, those that were there always had a kind were and were great, did not let it be known that they might be doing the job of two or three...if they felt that way. They seemed happy. Anyway, we did arrive early in the evening and was looking forward to the pool area. The shower in the pool are (which we feel should be used before going in the pool) kind of sprayed water all over the place, rather than just out of the nozzle end. The pool itself, kids don't mind cold water but we aren't kids and it was way too cold for us, even though it was over 90 degrees outside (but an indoor pool). Would I stay there again, YES. But would also hope the pool was a bit warmer to enjoy it.…
