We had a very good experience at this Hampton Inn (Birch Run). We stayed two nights while our camper was being serviced. The hotel is pet friendly which is awesome - we had our two dogs with us. The hotel is clean, the pool & whirlpool was great for unwinding. The free breakfast was good. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is no microwave in the room. But the front desk people let us use the microwave in the breakfast room. The shower water was hot and plentiful. I very much recommend this hotel.

First my Transmission on my SUV broke down just before I got to the Hotel. Jeff who looked after the breakfast and other duties was a life saver. Jeff helped us find a Transmission shop and a Towing service which got us back our SUV on the last day of our stay. The staff at the front desk was terrific , TYE, the General Manager, helped us get to the Transmission shop when or vehicle was ready. The front desk girls KATLYN, and BLAKE were there for anything we needed at any time. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold dishes, coffee and tea was available 24-7 by the frond deak. The hotel room was spacious and clean with very solid comfortable beds and a good sized washroom. The temperature controls were accurate and easy to use. The hotel had a beautiful pool and hot tub . The outlet mall is only 5 minutes away by car and there are many excellent places to eat within walking distance of a short drive. Note: Without the help of the staff we would have had to have our SUV towed back to Sarnia in Ontario and then to Bowmanville. They were life savers !

One of the quietest hotels I have stayed in. The hotel was sold out while we were there and we didn’t hear any noise outside our room. We like the Covid precaution of signing up for pool time. Wish it would stay that way past Covid.

To say our stay was a disappointment is a vast understatement. The only bright spot—and it was impressive—was the way staff person checked us in. She was the perfect blend of professional and personal. We found her pleasant and extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but we stayed on August 24, 2024, and she had unusual tattoos, especially on her right arm.
This Hampton needs an infusion of money and management. Although it WAS clean, we were astounded at the shape of our room. The bed skirt was half off of the bed and pooled on the floor. There were stains on my comforter and there were thread hanging off it everywhere. The wall above our window was spotted with stains. The blind must have been out of its track because it was difficult to operate. While we’re never surprised at wear and tear in room, the finish on the back of the bathroom door hit new heights. I can’t believe that wasn’t immediately fixed because there were big strips of veneer missing.
Speaking of the bathroom. We realize that many motels and hotels are changing from bar soap to liquid options, but they need to consider who might be staying in the room. I’m 5’1”. I couldn’t even reach the top of the bottle to dispense any soap. Plus, the nozzle was gummy, proof that it wasn’t routinely cleaned.
Breakfast was another head-shaking experience. We had three choices of hot beverages: hot water, decaffeinated coffee, and a light roast. My husband wasn’t happy. I’m a tea drinker. Only one black tea was offered and it was an off brand. When I dispensed the “hot” water, I discovered it was tepid.
For me, the most telling part was when we checked out. The woman at the desk did NOT ask how our stay was. I would have politely told her that the motel did not live up to our expectations of a Hampton stay. I suspect she didn’t ask because she’d already heard too many complaints about how shabby the motel was.
This motel is in a great location, and we’ve stayed there before with no complaints. Next time we’re in the area, we’re going to look at other options.

Quite possibly the WORST Hilton property! We stayed in room 100. The room smelled like old cigarette smoke and mildew. The musty smell permeated all the linens and towels. I finally got up during the night and sprayed my cologne under my nose so I could sleep without waking up and feeling so gross. The maintenance performed in the bathroom looked like it was done by a third grader (no offense to 8 year olds). The bathtub caulk was moldy and the tub needed reglazing as it was filthy. At breakfast, neither the butter or cream cheese was kept cold or on ice. I think Hilton has forgotten about this property or management has given up!

On the positive side, Ken at the front desk is very friendly and tries to help guests as best he can. The air conditioning works, parking was easy and the shower wasn’t bad. We checked in early on the Hilton Honors app and picked out a top floor room to avoid hearing footsteps. First room (315) has a toilet that would not stop running. Second room (318) smelled heavily of smoke. That was it for top floor availability and we had to move to the second floor to find an acceptable room. Beds are far too stiff for our comfort, but sheets and comforter were good. Breakfast both days we had to ask for coffee to be filled, and food was average at best. Unfortunately, this was our only Hilton option within 15 min of Frankenmuth, overall disappointing and would look elsewhere next time in the area.

This hotel will overbook and leave you in the cold. They did not just overbook a couple rooms but oversold by 10 rooms. They sent 10 families out into the cold in the middle of winter over a holiday. My extended family were getting together for the holidays and some of us got rooms and some did not. The rest found rooms at the Marriott nearby. The staff is rude and the rooms we did get had tub drains that left a couple inches of water in the tub (disgusting), the beds were broken and uncomfortable, and the refrigerators had completely frozen over and did not work with black mold around the edges because of the frost problems on the coils. Just a horrible and dirty experience. It is the least expensive hotel in the area which is likely why there is such high demand. It is not because of the hotel quality or rude staff which leave a lot to be desired.

We purchased conjoined rooms and both room smelled like mildew and mold. It smelled like the basement of an old, not taken care of 1960s home. Went up to the front desk and sarah didn't care about the situation and did absolutely nothing about. Also there was long hairs on my bed that were not mine or my friends. I didn't say anything because I knew sarah would not care. Sarah had a serious attitude. 1 out of 10 would not recommend.

I love Hampton Inn as a brand. This property was a massive disappointment. It really seemed like it was frozen in the 1990s. When someone moved upstairs, you heard it. The halls were musty, but on the second day of our visit we saw, what we believe must have been the owner, sprinkling Arm and Hammer baking soda throughout the main floor and vacuuming. When we checked in our carpet in the room was wet. The front desk advised me that it had just been steam cleaned. I believe, in most situations, you are supposed to let carpets breathe for an extended period of time. This property needs to be rebranded if it is not going to adhere to Hampton Inn standards. It would be fine if it were a Red Carpet Inn or Howard Johnson's, even a Ramada, but to market this as a Hampton and have me pay and average of $175/night (w taxes) was an unfair business practice.

Front desk clerk’s attire (I think it might be one of the managers ) was very very revealing and we saw much more than we wanted to see. On the positive note, the lady who replaced her was dressed & so were all other employees we have encountered. Hotel is everything you would expect from an older, but renovated Hampton Inn & outside of the above mentioned issue, we had an overall nice stay.
