We had a last minute additional guest, requiring us to need a second room, we were told we would have joined rooms, but one wasn't ready.. after a hour or so.. told that it was not going to be ready due to a maintenance issue and our second room was down the hall, but close.. ok, no worries.. we understood. Then after dinner, we called to check when the pool/hot tub hours were as we wanted to make time for relaxing too.. we were told it wasn't open. When we asked why it wasn't told to us upon arrival, a large argument erupted that had the hotel staff member yelling that she(Ty) was canceling our reservation at 10 pm, stating "if no hot tub ruins your trip, i"ll just cancel your reservation now!" after we tried to walk away and stated already that we would be checking out in the morning and going elsewhere. After chasing after us.. we packed quickly, and exited immediately. I am a Hilton Diamond member, and have never been so disrespected in my life. Go to the Holiday Inn across the street.. pool and hot tub were open, food was amazing, and THE STAFF WERE NICE!…
Birch Run Hampton Inn was a convenient overnight stop on our way to explore Northern MI and the UP. The hotel was close to I-75 with food options nearby. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
Ty at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. We couldn’t figure out how to connect my sons PlayStation to the tv and she was quick to help us figure it out. She was quick to get us towels, soap and anything we needed. All the house keeping were very friendly and helpful as well but we would definitely like to recognize how hard of a worker and friendly ty was at the front desk.
It was clean and the staff was great. Very helpful we were very unfamiliar with the area and the women an the desk was great. Aside from that we didn’t stay at the hotel that much. We’ll be back next year for sure.
Breakfast could have been better. Provide more healthier options like fruit and yogurt. Side doors to parking lot didn’t work with card. Hot water took a while to heat up. Service was good and rooms were clean.
Our thermostat did not work, the shower did not work, and the staff did nothing to resolve the issue due to no maintenance personnel and the manager stated our room would be comped for our stay, and at checkout I still got billed. I was told that the charges would go away, but they never did. Nobody can seem to tell me anything about that. Go somewhere else.
The only Hampton Inn that was a horrible stay. No cleaning service. Room had so many issues, leaking water in bathroom ceiling, phone didn’t work, refrigerator didn’t work, desk and tv stand were dirty. Business center closed. Digital key didn’t work for outside doors. Stay at another hotel in frankenmuth
Had to empty own trash, and get new towels from front desk. No offer to send someone with clean towels or to come empty my trash. Front desk just told me to put dirt towels and trash outside the door. Plus breakfast was nothing special stay a Hampton whenever I can this was the worst one for service and breakfast.
Hotel had a musty smell and was dirty. Room was outdated. We checked out within 10 minutes of checking in. Very disappointed for a Hampton. Felt more like a Hotel 8. The only good thing was the staff. Staff was incredible very understanding and helpful.
An okay place to stay. I’m glad this was a one night visit. Had I booked a week, the stay would have been memorable for the wrong reason. I’ve never been dissatisfied with a Hampton Inn before. Hope my next visit is better
