The Americinn By Wyndham Birch Run/Frankenmuth offers a welcoming atmosphere with its inviting bar and social spaces, though opinions on the pool's temperature are mixed. While the hotel's cleanliness is generally commended, some areas, like the breakfast room, have been called out for needing attention. Its strategic location is a hit among guests for easy access to highways and dining, despite some calls for better outdoor lighting.
Service at the hotel is often highlighted as friendly, although there have been mentions of occasional unresponsiveness. The rooms receive mixed reviews, with some guests finding them to be comfortable and others pointing out issues with upkeep and accuracy. Amenities like the beds and complimentary breakfast are appreciated by many, but critiques about the pool and air conditioning suggest room for improvement.

Detailed Reviews
I paid extra for a suite. we walked into a damp smelling room on the main level and the floor felt like they had thrown carpet over plywood. we didn't use the hot tub because I wasn't sold on the upkeep of the place and I wasn't risking getting into a jet tin that hadn'tbeen cleaned properly. the concept of the room was good, but the "what I got" didn't equal what I paid.

We decided on a trip to Frankenmuth for a quick getaway. We booked this hotel and have not been disappointed we booked a whirlpool suite the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet we heard no road noise. Breakfast was great the breakfast attendant was amazing and friendly, check in was great. Paige was training she did a wonderful job and made a connection with us instantly and made us feel welcome. We already are planning our next trip back up here.

3rd time to this hotel in just 9 mos time and something happened (new management?) but the breakfast is WAY better; please keep that up! The cleanliness is better, the staff cleaned up, I noticed more staff and I've always had good service here, I'm bummed to hear others have such bad experiences or maybe some people are just so picky. The pool/hot tub area are very nice, big hot tub too. The lobby is huge with a nice fireplace. The coffee/tea station could be bigger but it's fine. Ice water constantly filled and at hand. The rooms are good sized but I reserve the oversized room for that bay window view. The beds and pillows are comfy. My most recent stay this past weekend was great, my only complaint now is that the restaurant isn't open and this place used to serve alcohol.....that was taken away but are in process of getting new liquor license. We'll be back!

Hotel's Favourite
Excellent customer service. The room we originally received was too small for our needs. Since we are a Best Western rewards member the front desk gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room. They are both very accommodating and kind. The 24 hour coffee in the hotel is very tasty. The room is cool and comfortable. Very clean and peaceful. Close to historic Frankenmuth and the outlet shops/Bob Evans Restaurant.

I like the Best Western brand of hotels but this one fell very short. We reserved a room for one night so we could rest after a long hot day in Frankenmuth and the outlet mall at Birch Run. The parkinglot is in rough shape, no clear lines indicating parking spaces. I use a wheelchair so I was happy to have the double doors open upon pressing the handicapped button at the entrance. The lobby looks great, nice and cool, great place to hang out and socialize if you're here wih a group. Our room looked nice, except there's no door to the closet area, just a shower curtain that you pull back if you need to hang up your clothes. the room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Our room did not get cool. It was a very hot room, the air conditioner had not been turned on. When you have a 90 degree day, they could've at least turned it on knowing the room was reserved that day. I let the front desk know but she told us to give it some time. We left for a couple hours but it wasn't much better. We used the pool because we were just so hot. We didn't stay in long. Very cloudy, over chlorinated water and large cracks around the edge of the pool. The wobbly railing going into the pool is dangerous. We found hair and bugs in the water. We went to shower after swimming and there were only 2 bath towels. No hand towels, no washcloths.
Finally at 9:30 pm, we packed the car, checked out and left for home. Overall, it seems this place cuts too many corners.. We won't be staying here again.

Firstly, when I reserved our room, I called the hotel directly to request a ground floor room because my husband has great difficulty with stairs(their website states that you need to do this). When we arrived, there was no ground floor for us and no elevators and absolutely no concern shown by the young girl at the front desk. Secondly, when we entered the room, it was like a sauna (it was 90 outside at 8:30p.m.) Most hotels I've stayed at would have put the air conditioning on before guest arrival. Thirdly, to make matters worse, the toilet didn't flush and there were hairs on the floor and in the toilet bowl. There was no chain connecting the handle to the plunger, so it had obviously been broken for a while. (How do you clean a toilet without flushing it? They must have known it was broken). This room should NOT have been rented out. I didn't bother saying anything until the morning because after such a long day we weren't up to dealing with it at 10 p.m. at night.

There were bugs coming out of the AC and the windowsill.
I told the front desk since I noticed around 10pm and the woman there was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. She threw a fit when I asked it to be cleaned saying there were no cleaning crew at the time and she would have to do it herself.
I asked for a different room and I got the one next to it. It had it also. I asked for another, It also had them too. I was bewildered. When I told the front desk she said that was all the kings she had. No upgrade to anything that might not have bugs, she just didn’t care. I asked her if there was any room that didn’t have bugs and she said AND I QUOTE “ I can’t walk thru your whole and guarantee there won’t be any bugs” WHAT?!?! She didn’t even care enough to come see them let alone anything.
i did not plan to stay the night that night but every other place in town was closed for the night. I didn’t know what kind of bugs so I was scared all night.
Breakfast was cold and the staff was standing over us telling us how to take everything. It was unpleasant. OJ was good.
back to my room I was changing so I could leave this terrible hotel room. A cleaning crew knocked on my door and invited themself in while I was changing and there was a DND sign on the door. There’s a reason for that!! I told them to come back later. I heard a scoff and then they stomped away.
I went to the front desk to leave as I got all my things out of the room, and the same desk lady from the night before was there. I told her I wanted out and she told me, “you refused the cleaning crew”. Making it my fault there was bugs?!?!
The general manager was professional but also had an attitude. He needs to be more serious about his hotel and he should be more concerned why his employee didn’t come and clean the rooms that had bugs in them.
I got a refund for only one night that I didn’t stay and my security deposit and we left.
I mean this. If you’re a kid or an adult reading this, DO NOT come to this hotel. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to and no matter what the other reviews say this is seriously a disgusting hotel with terrible condescending rude staff, except the general manager who only had an attitude. Don’t give this business any more money or anything.
I mean it. I’m not over exaggerating.

When we first checked in, we were surprised to find an odd, moldy smell in the lobby and the stairs leading to our room. Our room had clean towels and bedding, but that was about it - there were cobwebs in the corners, dried food on the carpet on either side of the bed, blown light bulbs in the bathroom, and several flies buzzing around. On the second night, after the family above us checked in and started running their shower, water started bursting from a panel in our ceiling and poured over a lot of our belongings, damaging our personal stuff along with souvenirs we had just purchased in Frankenmuth. The front desk staff secured a new room at the Days Inn for us almost immediately, but it was tiny, dusty, and hardly any cleaner than our Best Western suite. We'll always remember this as one of the worst hotel stays we've ever had, and it really put a stain on our otherwise-decently-fun weekend in Birch Run/Frankenmuth.

Wife and I agree this was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced. We also checked on price of a room upon leaving to find we paid over 3x (felt gouged) what the room normally goes for. We love Birch Run but will not plan on staying at Birch Run BW. We will avoid Birch Run completely before staying here again. There was an odor we noticed when first entering. Cleared up a bit once air conditioner circulated. Even the back of the bathroom door is all splintered at the bottom. Wife did not feel comfortable in the room at all but knew other locations were already booked. This was a last-minute decision for the family to enjoy a night away. Poor quality stay all the way.

We took our mom to Frankenmuth and we reserved adjoining rooms since she was afraid to stay in a room by herself for the first time in her life. We were "garenteed" adjoining rooms. Got there at check in time and were told there were no adjoining rooms available. Best they could do was down the hall. Our room smelled like sweaty gym socks. Later that evening, we tried to get into moms room and the key card would not work. Front desk was confused because "that was not her room. They just checked another guest into that room." He then realized his mistake and re-keyed her room card. Then a man walked up and said there was someone in his room. He had walked into our moms room and scared her! She was in a frenzy! The hotel clerk assigned the man the room adjoining ours. The room we were told was unavailable. All we got was an apology. Mom ended up sleeping in the extra bed in our room.
They have a $100 security deposit per room that is supposed to be refunded within a day of check out. We made several calls and could not reach the manager. Left several messages and no return call. Called the corporate office three times before getting our security deposit back months later.
Will NEVER stay here again. Even if we were paid to stay.
Worst hotel experience EVER!

No! The one we were in had neither.
yes, there is an elevator to the 2nd floor. It is located in the lobby.
Nope, it was just an odd thing not to offer travel packs of pain medicine. It was a dirty hotel. There were some bugs in the room. This hotel offers a bar which was a joke. The breakfast that was included was gross. I could go on. You could get a hotel in Hawaii for the amount that this hotel was charging. They had very few amenities, including hot water in the rooms. By the way, you don't have to be sarcastic. I gave my review and it was my opinion. The person at the desk was very rude. Even a bed a breakfast has an Advil or two hanging around. It was an Advil. You know the ones you get at the airports. The little packets that everyone except this Best Western sells!!!
I would go back and stay even with other hotels available the staff was nice you just had to be reasonable with your expectations
