Will not stay again, husband not in best of shape and toilet was for a child, so he had trouble getting up from it, pictures are deceiving, chair ripped up, carpet fraying, smelled terrible, and the worst of it when waking up in a.m. to leave seen a couch roaches, breakfast sucked. Never again can't even tech them to tell them about the roaches yuck Sad traveler
I decided to book this hotel for one night and the price was right. Unfortunately there was a reason the price was so good. The wall outlet at the desk didn’t work and the room definitely showed it’s age. One of the queen beds had such dirty sheets I couldn’t believe they hadn’t thrown them out. If you need a place to stay for one night it’s ok.
Don’t waste your money. This is a shell game. The Best Western owns the property. All the pictures and amenities shown are strictly for Best Western guests. You pay for the quality and respect of Best Western and get pooped on like fourth or fifth class guests. Rooms are dirty, unkempt, broken fixtures and won’t change your room or make it right. Thrash just sitting outside the doors, blood on carpet.
Their website shows 4 stars. This is far short. Let the pics speak for themselves. 120 weekend stay for this. Take a look at their deluxe continental breakfast. Beds are at least co.fortable. don't be fooled by the pics. Every unit is outside.
This is a horrible place to stay. Looks are very deceiving! The room stunk of mold and mildew, the shower curtain had mold and slime on it. The mattresses were basically a metal spring frame filled with rocks. The mattresses were so horribly stained, they tried hiding it with an even more stained and probably from the 70's mattress pad. We ordered carry out and asked the front desk for paper plates, they charged us $2.00 for 2 Styrofoam plates...SERIOUSLY?!?!? The only good thing I can say is the staff at check in was very humble and kind... Do not waste your money or sacrifice your back at this place!!!
Clean rooms. Great breakfast included many hot options (eggs, sausage, ham, waffles). Friendly wait staff brought us coffee and juice. Nice indoor pool. My family recommends the Magnuson Hotel in Birch Run!
Excellent stay. Great location to all Frankenmuth attractions. I would recommend this hotel when traveling on a budget. Great breakfast and all amenities of Best Western Plus included. I traveled with my son, we both enjoyed the pool and the hot tub after a long day of shopping.
Good sized room that was very clean and smelled good. This hotel also has a lot of grassy lawn areas around the parking lot and in the back which was fantastic to hang out at in the evening and watch the fireflies. The hotel lobby is super nice, they had friendly employees and a great breakfast selection.
Horrible experience! First of all we booked online no refundable. This is the only reason we stayed! The pictures on the site make you think your staying some where decent! Not the case. They stuck us in the back old hotel. So we went to our room and found needles out in the grass. When brought to managers attention he was angry that we didn’t tell him as soon as we found it. Then he never took care of it the whole time we were there. The room was disgusting. Drywall everywhere. Toilet was gross. Shower gross. We didn’t use it.the bathroom door locked you in the bathroom. The jacuzzi we looked forward to and was greatly disappointed. The jets didn’t work. When we talked to manager again he said it was a soaking tub. Well that’s not what the website said. The only positive was the breakfast. The waitstaff. Lana and Eddie did an excellent job. Don’t stay here!!!…
There are some good and bad reviews about this hotel. Hopefully, from my own experience, I can share fairly what people can expect from this hotel. My family stayed in this hotel for a few days around Christmas. Thanks to previous post, I went straight to Best Western to check in. Staffs are very friendly and check in was fast. I have never stayed in Best Western, so I can't compare the room with BW. For the price I paid, I didn't expect the room would be close to one I see from one such as Hampton. And I was right, it was more like a motel's room. But compare to the motel I had stayed before, Magnuson's room was in better condition. Like some reviews mentioned, the blanket was thin. But my family already prepared, we know some hotel may be too hot or too cold during the night. So we were okay! The building was at the back, and the breakfast area was in main building, the one we checked in. So would have to do a bit walking at the morning to have breakfast. But the breakfast was great. Nice big area for breakfast. Location was good. Very very close to the outlet mall. And only a short drive to Frankenmuth. However, because it was so close, sometime it was challenging to get in/out because of the heavy traffic. If you find it difficult to make a left turn to the hotel, don't worry. Simply keep go straight and make a left turn on the traffic light right ahead. After that, you can make a left turn to the complex that can eventually go directly to the hotel. And that's for day time, when dark, it become very difficult to return to the hotel. The entrance had absolutely no light at all. The best alternative I can suggest is to try to go to Subway and then drive from there to the hotel. I believe this is the safest and easiest way. Considering the location, the money I save every night we stayed, and the good breakfast. This hotel is not really that bad at all. Of course, paying 30+ more every night would have a much nicer hotel room. It's the call you will need to make when booking. I wish there is a hotel that offer super low rate with everything in excellent condition too. But I have not never seen any available. And based on everything I considered, Magnuson is okay, not very good, have some negatives, but okay. It's worth to consider.…
