My husband and I really enjoyed our time away from home at Beaver Island. The moment we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile. The rooms were very clean and quiet. We enjoyed the convenience of being near the local shops and ferry. Really enjoyed the night swimming in the lake :) Definitely recommend this place!!

Beaver Island is a unique place-I felt like I had gone back in time. Being from the South, I was shocked and appalled to learn our room had no air conditioner. I soon came to realize it was not needed and the island is actually cool in the mornings and evenings. I would recommend that you bring a jacket/sweatshirt even...

My wife and I visited Beaver Island and we were looking at possible real estate. We booked a room at the hotel and the moment we arrived we observed the hotel was run down and neglected. We asked for additional towels and a pillow and were told by an employee that she had better things to do and perhaps we...

A last minute decision to visit Beaver Island. Bill, the owner, had a cancellation, so he fit us in, and picked us up at the local airport. While their might be high brow facilities somewhere on this largest of Lake Michigan islands, Beaver is petty laid back and country nice. Caribbean clear water and refreshing breezes. Emeral Isle Hotel, run...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Emerald Isle Hotel on Beaver Island. Although this hotel was likely a nice place when new it has been neglected, likely because the current owner is trying to sell and doesn't want to invest any more money. After our check-in we finally ended up in the third room. Previous rooms had maintenance...

My husband and I stayed at the Emerald Isle and suggest it to others who are going to Beaver island. Bill was extremely accommodating and a welcoming host. By the way, there is no air conditioning on Beaver Island any where as far as I can tell, not just at the Emerald Isle. The rooms are spacious , all the...

This hotel is the newest constructed hotel on the island, but here are a few things you should know before you go: Decor is 1990's, No telephones, No A/C, you can hear the upstair's rooms water flow, traffic and the dog barking across the street, clean but not white glove clean, 19" TV w/ built in VCR!, Channels are a...

The hotel is located within walking distance from the main street of the island which is right on the beach. The island experience should not be missed! You won't believe you are in the United States. The hotel rooms are pretty good and clean. Everyone is extremely nice and the owner even drove us to the ferry boat! There are...

The Emerald Isle is very nice for an "Up North" accomodation. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a kitchenette in each. We weren't expecting a 5-star resort. Bill was gracious and accomodating. Yes, there were some things that didn't work, as others have said. After experiencing life on Beaver Island, you understand some of the unique challenges of renovations...

“Beaver Island is a rustic stop not a 5 star metropolis. Know that going in. It is very expensive to ship things in so most places just take very good care of what they have. I loved the nostalgia and think it gives the whole island it's charm. Place is awesome for a quiet getaway”
