The Beaver Island Lodge, with its captivating location and view of Lake Michigan's spectacular sunsets and diverse moods, make it a favorite boutique hotel. Rich in tradition, the Beaver Island Lodge has been "Host to the Island Traveler" since 1950. Surrounded by a plush forest of hardwood and evergreens, The BI Lodge stands nestled on a bluff overlooking a private beach below, the BI Lodge is the ideal getaway for the water and nature enthusiast. In addition, the unique location of the lodge provides an excellent location for weddings and small business conferences. TheBI Lodge has hosted many spectacular weddings on our private beach and our bluff overlooking the water and outer islands. The Sunset Restaurant at the Beaver Island Lodge has an unparalleled and innovative menu. The view from the dining room is world class. The Sunset Restaurant is a popular destination for spectacular Northern Michigan sunsets. At the last flicker of sunlight it is not unusual for the entire restaurant and bar to erupt in full applause. The Beaver Island Lodge and The Sunset Restaurant operate seasonally from mid-May to the end of October. We welcome you to join us for your next island getaway. Children ages 10 and above are welcome at The Lodge, however there are only three suites that allow a "maximum" of three people. We also offer a two-bedroom "quite large" cabin next door with your own private beach, for our families with children of all ages and it is pet-friendly. The Cabin is a four-night minimum stay. The BI Lodge is a two-night minimum stay.
This place is right on the water, hearing the waves was just so relaxing. Hope to get back there soon. The view from the room was gorgeous and the location is close to things but nice and quiet. Good choice

There is much to say about Beaver Island and the Beaver Island Lodge. For our quick three day Anniversary get away we found BI to be the perfect place. The 2hr Beaver Island Ferry was a delightful way to start and end the experience. Luckily we had mostly calm water and enjoyed the outdoor sights and sounds. Indoor seating is also available, very comfortable, and supplies complimentary Wi-Fi to complete your work. Caution- Probably the most challenging aspect of visiting the Island is getting there! Check the date/schedule depending upon season and day. An alternative to the ferry is airfare to either of the BI airports. Once at the Harbor we were welcomed with a smile from Mrs. TJ one of the Beaver Island Lodge Hosts. In the Green Van off our luggage went to the Lodge while…

My wife and I visited Beaver island lodge in mid August of 2019 we stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. The hotel had a great location with large open rooms that were tremendously clean and stocked. The lodge had a great location with just a short walk to the downtown area. What I can't stress enough though is how friendly and courteous the staff was especially Johan, who went to great lengths to make sure that you had the best stay possible. The restaurant was outstanding the food and drinks were fantastic and the wait staff was very prompt to meet your needs. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will be back and would love to thank the staff for making our stay great!

Hi Ryan. Thank you so much for your raving 5 star review. I was happy to help your wife with the little "tech" problem and I hope it worked out fine for her. TJ and I will be back to manage the lodge next year, as will be Chef Jason, as we intend to make The Beaver Island Lodge experience the finest in Michigan. Hope to see you guys back soon. PS The online reservation system for next year is up and running fine.

We have traveled to Beaver Island, by boat, for many years and always make the Beaver Island Lodge a destination for dinner. The Lodge offers a beautiful lakefront view, good food (whitefish being my favorite), and friendly staff. The lodge is a nice walkable distance from town-our choice after being on the boat.

If you've been curious about Beaver Island, and you're planning a brief visit, Beaver Island Lodge is the place to stay. Know that this inn is far from the Ritz-Carlton. Though it has a rustic charm that fits perfectly with the decidedly rustic BI experience. The Lodge is very well located, a ten-minute (or so) walk from the ferry landing and town (such that it is). The location is excellent. Request a room on the second or third floor with a view of Lake Michigan. You'll enjoy the sight and sound of the waves from your cozy balcony. Rooms are simple and comfortable. There's no A/C, and since our visit coincided with a bit of a heat/humidity wave, our room got stuffy at night, so we used the fan provided, even with our screened window open to the breeze. The restaurant and bar…

Stayed one night (Monday to Tuesday) in late August. The tourist season was already slowing down, so many restaurants on the island were closed including the one at the Lodge. Doug met us at the boat and helped us load the luggage. We road our bikes to the Lodge, it was a short trip. As others stated, the furniture is older but in good shape, but the beds seemed new and very comfortable. The bathroom is small and did not have counter space, which was especially an issue with my wife. There is no air conditioning which is a problem for me when sleeping. Kathy at the front desk was very helpful and told us some of the places to eat since the restaurant was closed. At checkout Doug helped load our bags directly to the boat so we did not have to worry about them. Doug and…

Stayed two nights here on the third floor. We had a lovely patio with a view of the lake. The furnishings are older but well kept up..The bathroom was ok but needed some updating. The shuttle to and from the Ferry was a very nice convenience. On site hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our dinner was very good and the restaurant service perfect. Our only suggestion would be to offer some kind of breakfast in the mornings. it's very inconvenient to go out each morn to eat. Having the coffee maker and coffee in our rooms was a well appreciated touch.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we’re happy you enjoyed your stay! We have not had less than a 5-Star review this year and we were very surprised to see your rating. Anything less than a 5-Star is not acceptable with us. The Lodge was built in 1950 and was originally a privately owned condominium community. Some of the rooms are still privately owned. The charm of staying here is the feeling of going back in time when life was much simpler. Most of our rooms have been recently renovated. We wish you would have expressed your concerns regarding your room, we would have been happy to move you to another room. As for breakfast we’d love to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner but getting staff on the island for seasonal work is difficult and therefore we specialize in dinner only. We hope you will come back and stay with us again and let us show you that your stay here at Beaver Island Lodge rates as a 5-Star!

Recently spent one night here with one other couple. We were given adjoining rooms, very convenient. Shuttle service to and from the ferry is great. Location is close to town but secluded. This was good as the Beaver Island music festival was on the days we were on the island and town was very busy. The inn keepers are friendly and helpful. Restaurant at the hotel was a lot better than anything I would have expected on the island. Room was clean. Bathroom a bit on the small side, but how much time are you going to spend in there anyway? Overall a great experience. We spent one day biking down into the heart of the island. Gravel roads were badly wash boarded, but I doubt our hosts could have done much about that one. Lodge definitely deserves a five star rating.

We recently went to Beaver Island along with several other family members for a Dedication of Land in honor of our Grandmother and to attend the 4th of July festivities on the Island. We stayed in Room 2, a suite, on the first floor. It was lovely. We have stayed at the Lodge many times and Room 2 is our favorite. It was great to have internet service at the Lodge on the Island. Housekeeping came in daily to empty our trash and do a light clean up for us and to make sure we had plenty of towels and bathroom supplies. The room has a nice refrigerator and a microwave. The king bed in our bedroom was very comfortable. This was just like a little apartment with sofa, dining room table, bathroom and bedroom. We also visited other family members in their suite/rooms and…

We flew Island Airways Charlevoix to Beaver Island. Public transport or taxi available at the airport with per-arrangements. Lake view room nice and view spectacular. Restaurant on site good. The walls in the rooms are not very sound restricting so noise from others is possible. Short walk to town for groceries and beverages. Great bakery also. Rent a car and drive around the island. Lots of history and you may see some "Bood ling".
