The whole hotel reeks of old cigarettes... the only reason you would stay here if for the price, but I’m here to tell you it’s not worth it. Unless you want to smell like a dumpster. The only good thing about it was the liquor store nearby, but it’s just a rebranded ratty old Super 8. You can even see the Super 8 sign at night shining through their cheaply rebranded new sign. Spend your money elsewhere.
Never again!! Drug dealing in the parking lot. Approached and harassed to buy drugs on my way to the filthy room after a long day of work. Checked out early contacted my office to make other arrangements.
Don't stay here. I found hair on the sheets in 2 rooms before settling in a third room that was clean enough to sleep in. Even then I only stayed because it was very late and I didn't have a choice. If you need a cheaper place stay a little further outside Boston, or spend the money for a better hotel. Trust me it's not worth it to stay here.
Moldy bathroom. Smells like smoke. Indifferent service. Sketchy furniture. Doors that stick. You get the idea, but I have to write a little more because TripAdvisor doesn't accept reviews with less than 200 characters.
This is very much a budget hotel -- no elevator, some rooms in the basement level, sub par included breakfast, etc. HOWEVER, what it lacks in appearance is made up by (1) it is clean and comfortable; (2) about three blocks from the Starbucks and the bus that takes you straight into Harvard Square; (3) kind and helpful staff. I would stay here again with no qualms.
The hotel is not perfect, but it shouldn't be for the excellent deal you're getting. It is great for staying close to the city of Boston. The room was pretty clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the pillows were a little too tall and/or firm for my neck.
This property was absolutely gross. I was touring colleges with my daughter, and right from when we pulled up we were uncomfortable. The “breakfast area” is literally 2 tiny tables right in the check in area. When we got to our room the door was filthy inside and out - it was reminiscent of a gas station bathroom. The carpet was dirty, and smelled heavily of carpet fresh - like they were trying to cover over another smell. The bathroom was tiny and dingy, and we didn’t want to use it at all. We decided immediately that we couldn’t spend the night there, and were willing to lose the money I had already spent. As I was checking out, another person that had just checked in actually came to the front desk and said that his room was gross and he couldn’t stay there, so I guess we weren’t the only unsatisfied customers. …
first room they assigned us stank of tobacco. Second room still smelled like tobacco, but not as intense. Room had mold near air conditioner. Curtains won't close. hair in tub. No outlets near bed. broken furniture in the room. Breakfast was simple yet terrible - they found a way to ruin fruit, yogurt, and croissants and coffee. TV had about a dozen channels. You had to either plug in the TV & cable box or plug in the clock but not all 3.
The staff was nice but after that no redeeming qualities of the hotel. Tiny room, very noisy, the bathroom I could barely fit and I’m not that big. The bed was right up against the door and it was so loud it sounded like people were coming into my room all night.
Very bad service.I arrived about 9 pm in the night, the midage guy in the check in count had very very bad attitude, really scared me. The room is extremely old, dirty, smelly and full of bugs. The bad and table are really dirty!! I would like to give a 0 if the system allows.
