My friend and I stayed at the 1888 for 3 nights in July 2016 while we were touring Boston. The Inn was beautiful and full of antiques and oriental carpets. Miss Sally was delightful and a very good hostess. It was easy to get into town from Waltham.

I stayed her recently with my teenage daughters who felt like they had stumbled into a most amazingly warm and welcoming world, greeted by Sally who made them feel instantly comfortable and at home. The rooms are bright and sunny and very clean. Beautifully-decorated, the substantially-sized rooms, with antique furniture are also very comfortable. The guesthouse is very centrally located,...

The room was bright, clean and comfortable. Its location is on a main thoroughfare, is close to many eating and other facilities. The shared bathroom is up-to-date plumbing-wise, but if you don't care for cheap, single-ply TP, bring your own. Sallie provides clean towels and washcloths daily and makes up the bed, too. Each room has a 19 inch LCD...

My husband and I had a trade show in Boston and the only hotels/bed & breakfasts that weren't fully booked were $300+. So we began to search outside of Boston and fortunately found the 1888 Guest Home. We typically stay at Bed & Breakfasts with private baths, so this was a bit different for us. As the name implies, it...

I had to come to town for a funeral and couldn't find a room near Waltham. My brother mentioned The 1888 Guest House, so I booked the room. The owner, Sallie, is the sweetest, kindest lady who loves what she does. My room was so comfortable. She was waiting for me in the morning with a hug and a smile....

My wife and I had to come to Waltham for a business trip and I found this little gem. I loved the inn but fell in love with the sweet innkeeper Sally! She was an absolute charmer and helped us with everything we needed. Once we finished our tour of the inn we went to our pristine room and could...

My husband and I stayed one night. We had an early morning medical appointment which we were concerned about getting to due to impending snowstorm. Salley was the most welcoming person-- she even got up at 6 am to send us off with a hug. Amazing! Quiet, comfortable and full of antiques!

I stayed two nights close to my daughters university. Sally the innkeeper is lovely and checks you in and then leaves you alone which is a welcome break from others that want to be your tour guide and new best friend. The inn was quite with one other room occupied (and placed right above me!?). Bathroom was down the hall...

The 1888 Guest Home is a comfortable, clean, friendly, quiet, nice place to stay. The rooms are well appointed and it is nice to walk around the property or sit on the porch for a while. Our room had a nice TV in it, but we didn't watch it. It is closer to Moody Street and its many restaurants than...

It doesn't really matter if you go on Business or Pleasure. The location is 2 minutes from Route 128 and the businesses nearby, and also for Parents wanting to see their children graduate from Bentley University (5 min drive), Brandeis (10 mins) and perhaps also Babson, though that's a bit further out. Lexington and Concord with their revolutionary heritage and...
