The staff really went out of their way to make my stay easy, giving me tips on places to go, some of the off-beat treats on Martha's Vineyard an running a well-organized place. The inn itself is a wonderful combination of old, new and not over-decorated. It's a good bet.

This is my 6th trip to the 1720 House in as many years. Abby, the owner, is sweet and deeply funny. True, she is tart of tongue, even a bit caustic, but SHE IS A NEW YORKER and not given to ladling on the syrup. I've always enjoyed both her sense of humor and her sense of style. The hotel...

No bike. Dirty. Very rude, calculating and absent owner, who is bother by the guess. Just call and talk to her and then decide for yourself. The place is dirty, smelly, moldy, stained and smoky, since she smokes. Some people think all said is OK because is budget B&B at $150 a night, but I have been on many wonderful...

This review was written by an employee whom I fired last September or by a friend whom the former employee put up to writing this review. If other reviews about The 1720 House are read, one of the best and most often aspects of an enjoyable stay lists the cleanliness of the property. I hope readers will come and see...

Jill and Abby were fantastic hosts. They went above and beyond, out of their way to make our comfort. We couldn't have asked for a better location! Seems like fantastic spot to hold a wedding or have a lovely family gathering up on the Vineyard.

Not having been to the Vineyard in quite a long time I was looking forward to our trip with some trepidation. But as soon as I got to the 1720 house all my fears were gone. Here is a perfect historic residence just minutes from the heart of Vineyard Haven, gorgeously restored and with exquisitely comfortable rooms. We stayed in...

Everything about The 1720 House is charming and wonderful. I went alone to an island I'd never been to before. From the initial friendly greeting and tour of the lovely old house I felt comfortable and well taken care of . The other guests were happy too. They were all interesting. One couple invited me to join them for horseback...

We arrived hot and tired and were offered ice teas and cookies. After we were taken to our room: the Lincoln room, very attractive and clean and spacious, we were given maps of the island and great suggestions of where toi go and how to get there. We enjoyed an hour sitting in the gardens near the beautiful old Beech...

My husband and I booked a very last minute getaway memorial day weekend to MV. We stay at a lot of b and b's and I usually comb through reviews before I decide on a place, but because our trip was so last minute I just went with the first place that had a vacancy. Positives: This place really is...
