I have waited a while before sending this review in an attempt to be fully objective. MV is obviously very busy in August and it was extremely hot at the time. 1720 although quaint needs some updating. Just because a building is 300 years old doesn't mean that it cant be fitted with comfortable beds( mine had a plank of... More

This was the perfect B&B for us. We have 3 (almost) adult children. The Americana Room sleeps 3 and has its own bathroom across the hall. My husband and I were in the Garden Room with our own attached bath as well. Air conditioning was an added surprise. Beautiful and quiet. Perfect to bike (we brought our own) to beach... More

The 1720 House was easy to find and located in great proximity to town, shops, wonderful restaurants and the ferry/water. First impressions of the room were very good - clean and inviting. Abbey was lovely and Lucinda was a wealth of information which we truly appreciated - from our Beach Road dining experience to special stops on our journey home.... More

Not only was the home inviting with its original architectural details and antique furnishings, but the staff made it a personal mission to welcome us and to ensure our stay on the vineyards was divine. The staff recommended restaurants, gave us updates on the latest venues on the island, and enlightened us with island lore. The inn is an excellent... More

Very comfortable and updated. The place is charming and very laid back. The owner and staff go out of their way to accommodate and provide you with an enjoyable stay. Location is excellent on the main road one block from town. The shared bath situation worked because we never saw the other party.

Charming historic bed and breakfast in a quaint neighborhood. The home has lovely antiques and modern conveniences. The home is a few steps from the harbor, the bus transport, and island shopping. The owner, Abby, was on hand to personalize my visit. She went above and beyond accomodating my many needs and venue requests to ensure my vineyard stay was... More

The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the early American theme and antique furnishing. Lucinda was very nice and helpful. She offered all kinds of tips to make our trip pleasant and made sure we enjoyed the island. The breakfast was very good with several choices. No car was need since we were close to the bus stop. I recently stayed here with my family and we experienced wonderful service in this quaint and charming bed and breakfast. It is located right in town so we could walk to different restaurants, shops, and to Vineyard Haven beach. There's also a lovely garden where we ate breakfast.... definitely coming back here!

The 1720 house is a beautiful historic inn just a five minute walk from town. The owner and manager did everything they could to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They provide a wonderful continental breakfast, the coffee is delicious as is the fresh fruit and berries! I couldn't have asked for more. I can't wait to go back!
