Stayed 2 nights Aug. 22 & 23 2015 in the co-ed dorm. Quiet atmosphere. Both the staff and guests were friendly. About a 8 or 9 minute walk down the hill and over the dunes to the huge beach. The building is an old Coast Guard station owned by National Park System (leased by HIHostel from what I was told)... More

I just returned from Truro. You can't beat the location. Beds weren't the most comfy but hey it's a hostel. Kitchen is big with plenty of utensils. I thought the only down side is liquor is not allowed. In fact the young woman who was working there went through people's bags in the refrigerator and confiscated the wine someone brought.... More

If you don't mind basic accommodations... this is it. How many youth hostels are IN a National Park. This one is in the National Seashore and is a stone's throw from teh beach. If you have 4 women, you can rent a whole private room (always a shared bath). I have not stayed in the co-ed dorm... thinking snoring is... More

I don't stay at hostels usually, but this location convinced me. Dorms are basic, guests are friendly, most if them over 40. Bathrooms have seen better days. But the common areas are cosy, huge kitchen with free breakfast. And you are right on the beach, so no struggle for parking and planning ahead for the whole day. Well worth the... More

The hostel is impeccably clean and nicely furnished, airy and bright with huge windows that overlook the dunes and the sea. It's a hike to the ocean, on a path over the dunes, with another short hike across the road that leads through woods up to an overlook. The vistas are gorgeous. This would be a great place to come...
