Even though this looks like a crack motel, the room was actually not bad. The problem was that after paying for the room on Expedia, I foolishly agreed handed over my card "for incidentals" - as if there would be any incidentals in a one-star motel. That set the stage for the staff to charge me an additional nearly $300 for the stay, which had already been paid by Expedia. I then had to waste 2 months in a fight with my credit card company to back me up. (Don't get a Citi card, that's another story.)

Was meeting a group of friends for the weekend and I had to book a hotel as I was driving all day and night. I found this hotel and it seemed like a pretty good rate. Coming up to the hotel, I booked it under COMFORT INN and when I checked the address with the reservation, it stated it was now Quality Inn.....hmmmm ok. You can tell that there is no landscaping people who take care of the property. It looks like it was nice at one time and then they just decided to let it slide. Upon coming into the hotel, there was a man on his phone playing a game and I told him that I reserved a room. He really didn't seem to care about checking me in as he was to get to the next level of his game. He told me where my room was and went back to his game. My room was on the 2nd floor and getting there you passed by a lobby that looked like it was trapped in 1985. There was a white board that said NO BREAKFAST DUE TO COVID (great thanks for letting me know ahead of time) Going down a long hall of windows (that needed some Windex BADLY), you can see the pool that is dimly lit. You then pass by pamphlets for attractions around town (why aren't these in the lobby?), vending machines with soda and chips and other stuff you eat when you are starving, and two massive driving video games (by the looks of it, they had not been played in a loooooong time). I then saw the stairs to go up to my room. As soon as you walk into this hallway it smells like a Grateful Dead concert, you get hit with the odor of pot and cigarettes. I finally made it to my room and it was pretty decent. They had all the stuff you need in order to survive one night away from home. There was a TV, fridge, microwave, bed, etc. The bed was really nice and soft and the sheets had been cleaned that day. Plenty of towels in the bathroom along with toiletries and for once decent water pressure and the water was nice and hot. The only thing that was wrong was the wallpaper was peeling and it still has a 1980s vibe. To stay here for one night, it is ok.....anything past that....no thanks

I had stayed at this property before (when it was still branded as a Comfort Inn), so I knew about what to expect. It did not meet Comfort's brand standards then -- so I didn't expect it to meet Quality's now. And...sure enough, it didn't meet them. Not even close. I'll start with "curb appeal." On arrival, the property looked neglected. The lawn was overgrown; the restaurant next door (I know, not part of the hotel) was closed and looked it. There was a definite "creep factor." But...I was booked, so I went in. I was checked in fairly efficiently, though the front desk attendant wasn't exactly personable. Got my keys, went around back to my room. Opened the door and...was hit in the face by the smell of cigarette smoke -- in a 100% non-smoking hotel. There were stains on the carpet, there was mold on the ceiling. There were M&M's candies on the floor (so obviously it had not been vacuumed after the last guest). I was not a happy camper. But...they had a "full house" so I really had no option of exchanging this room out for another, so I kept it. Two other things bothered me. First, there was no breakfast -- which they neglected to mention on their website as a "COVID precaution." I have stayed in other Choice properties throughout the pandemic, and none had eliminated breakfast entirely. Most had prepackaged items; one had "grab and go" bags. Their Portsmouth, NH, property had been back to a nearly-full breakfast as far back as May. Nothing said verbally about it at the front desk -- just a crudely-worded whiteboard sign which could have easily been missed. Secondly, they relied on wall-posted signs to tell their customers they would not be getting daily housekeeping service. In all other properties I'd been to, the front desk would explain their COVID housekeeping restrictions -- or hand out a well-designed flyer explaining what you could expect. Nothing said at the front desk here -- they relied on your finding the signs posted in the hallways. I will probably be back someday, as this property is convenient to the area I was there to visit -- but I'm hoping by then it has improved over my experience this time. A "third strike" and I will not be back.

Many members of my family booked rooms at this motel (certainly not a hotel) for a family funeral. While I understand COVID restrictions (so no breakfast included was not a problem), I don't understand, a very shabby lobby in terms of decor and furniture; a pervasive odor throughout the facility of smoke (even though there are multiple "no smoking signs' posted; rooms that clearly had not been updated in multiple years - our room had no towel rack, only one towel upon check-in, TV that didn't function properly, cigarette burns in the comforter, peeling wallpaper everywhere and evident debris behind the bed, stained carpeting. While the rates were reasonable, it was still pretty much a robbery to pay for any room with quality at this low of a level. On other occasions we've stayed at a nearby Hampton Inn, but that was sold out, and my cousin thought this would be a comparable solution. NOT AT ALL, NO WAY, NO HOW. This place needs to major renovation. It does not give a feeling of cleanliness at all, and I was just glad that we only had to bear this for one night, and that was almost unbearable.

I booked this room on Priceline and was thrilled to get the amazing deal. I am a healthcare worker on a 13 week assignment at a local hospital. I was well aware of the fact that the hotel is "older", I have no issue with that. It only needs to be clean and safe. I do have to say that the pictures on-line are not representative of the actual facility, it is desperate need of a make-over. Again, I'm ok with old and outdated however miss-representing themselves is wrong. Upon arrival I could not access the hotel as both the entrance and exit were blocked off as they were tearing up the concrete parking lot. I honestly thought it was closed. I was finally able to access the hotel by going through the parking lot of the vacant restaurant next door. Though discouraged, I decided that I was going to "think good thoughts" and went inside. The first thing I noticed was the smell, it wasn't good, The second thing I noticed is that the employees were not wearing masks. Concerned for my safety I left the building. As this was booked through Priceline I called and talked to a service representative, she seemed to understand the situation and said she had to "call the hotel to see if they would honor a refund." She left me on hold while she called. Less than 2 minutes later she informed me that the hotel was not willing to refund my money. Not wanting to say she didn't actually call but, it was a really quick call, not sure how you could even explain the situation in this time frame. Both Priceline and Quality Inn have promises on their web site for the safety of their clients. They are not following through! I completely understand the "no refund" policy however times have changed and you cannot be expected to stay in un-safe conditions. As a healthcare worker who has worked with COVID patients, please take my advice and not stay at this facility. I myself will also not be using Priceline in the future.
