Shame on me! I should have known! Looking back at this Hotel website, I see how creative the photographer was. I was sure that the room would be an updated, beautiful, oceanview room. It WAS oceanview, but that was about it. The furniture was OLD, but not antique. The carpet was indoor-outdoor. The dollhouse bathroom was laughable. The bed was...

Emerson Inn is a charming, older hotel that really has that classic, 19th century resort feel to it. We received great customer service and had an overall enjoyable experience. Our stay included free buffet breakfast, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The inground pool was clean, well-maintained, and offered a fantastic ocean view. The neghborhood was very quiet. We stayed in what...

This hotel is kept so nicely! The porches are lovely places to sit and read and see the ocean. The restaurant does a great job with the included breakfast served inside or on the porch. The pool looked nice (did not use it) and nice to hike to the beach and around the rocks.

I have another wonderful vacation place to recommend. This year I stayed nearly a week in Rockport, Mass., most of it at the Emerson-Inn-By-the-Sea. A posted Newspaper article tells how a couple who had been in the restaurant business looked all over New England for a property to buy before finding the Emerson about a dozen years ago. The article...

Absolutely breathtaking views from this restored historical inn. Room was very comfortable, neat, clean. Breakfast in the morning was excellent-included. Lovely grounds to walk, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Also, heated pool to enjoy-again, overlooking the Atlantic. Nothing fancy. No bells and whistles. Just a lovely place to relax and unwind and enjoy. Well worth the drive!

My wife's and my stay at Emerson was part of a 5-week 40th anniversary trip through New England. I spared no expense and booked two dozen top-notch inns, b&b's and hotels. Emerson was the costliest and turned out to be the worst venue. The queen, ocean view room was so small that my wife and I could not pass each...

I just had a great visit to Emerson. I stayed in room 206, which does not face the water, but I didn't mind because great views are so easy to get from the veranda, garden and pool. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the Inn is very clean and quaint....

Love the Emerson! We have been coming every summer for six years. The owner, Bruce Coates, and the staff are extraordinarily helpful. In the six times we have stayed here, they have never failed to help us solve a problem, find an interesting historical or nature site, or get to just the right restaurant. Speaking of restaurants, the food here...

The Emerson Inn by the Sea provided the perfect venue for our July wedding and reception. Melissa Hobbs and the Inn staff made it all happen. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean, and the scenery was perfect. Melissa is meticulous in her planning and had every detailed covered. it is important to have someone watching out for the...

Let me start with the positives: The building and the location and great, and the food for breakfast and dinner is excellent. Free parking and wifi is a bonus. The pool area is also great. The staff are incredibly good and helpful. It is clean, and welcoming. I did have an issue with the dining room, I found the dark...
