Great place. Staff is superb. Room was very nice (same one as previous trip). Third floor, no elevator, but easily navigated. Continental breakfast included. Where this was Hallowe'en weekend, the lobby was all decorated. A very short distance to the middle of town. Highly recommend it!

We stayed 2 nights at the Gifford House Inn recently. Upon check in, the Inn had the wrong room reserved for us. However, when I pointed this out, they did accommodate us quite graciously. When making reservations, I asked for a non-smoking room. I was told "mostly all the premise is non-smoking." When we got to the room we had... More

It's a shame to downgrade this place as other than the fact that the onsite nightclub (The Club Purgatory) bangs out music until 1am every day, it's charming. Old style charm, fantastic location and parking out front make this a great venue...if you want banging music until 1am. Perhaps should make this more prominent online where I saw little if... More

I have been going to the Gifford House Inn for many years -- since the 1970s. It has been a good standby for availability when other places are full or are too expensive. It's still, comparatively speaking, "affordable" compared with lots of other choices -- and the location is great, with parking. This past time I got the worst room... More

Recently stayed at the Gifford House Inn and loved it. The room and whole hotel was super clean. Staff is so friendly, always smiling and cheerful , even first thing in the Morning. Such a great price on the room compared to other hotels in the area. I loved all of the options for nighttime entertainment too, beautiful singing by... More

Had not stayed here before, however, I stayed here during the Hallowe'n weekend. A great place and reasonably priced. Had breakfast in the restaurant, it was soooo good, I didn't care if I ate the rest of the day! Plenty of activities on site. Staff was superb! Thanks for a great time!

My wife and I stayed here for one night over Columbus day weekend. It is located on Bradford and provides nice and easy parking. We got a good rate for a night stay there. The front desk staff was very helpful and kind. The downfall which they do a good job letting you know before you book is there is... More

This is a reasonable no frills cleanly pleasant historic Inn. My only caution is they have a club in the basement that's noisy until 1 am. You just need to get in after 1. I've stayed here in the past and will again. The staff is friendly and the location great.

The location of Gifford House was excellent – Commerce street is just down the slight hill, the harbor is a short walk, as is the jetty. There is free and convenient parking. The breakfast leaves much to be desired.
