If you want something away from the craziness of Salem this is a quiet hotel mostly business people. Meaning this is not a party hotel. All the employees are very very nice. The service is a little slow, it might just be the state because we thought service was slow everywhere. The food here is so so good. Wow. Everything we ate was amazing.

Hotel's Favourite
The Boston Marriott Peabody is a clean, comfortable, and well located hotel about 30 minutes northeast of downtown. This hotel should serve as the model for how to treat guests. Jadyn at the front desk is exceptional! Friendly and welcoming, I felt like I was being greeted by an old friend. The hotel staff is great, the public spaces are nice, and the breakfast is tasty. I will be sure to visit this property in the future.

Stayed here as part of a wedding room block. Room was clean and though the hotel was booked solid did not hear any noise from neighbors. AC was a little loud but so is ours at home. The staff we encountered were all very nice and our status was acknowledged. We were offered breakfast in the restaurant the next day (it was a Saturday) and it was a full buffet which was great! We were very satisfied with our overnight stay.

I am a Bonvoy member and I chose the Marriott Peabody for an overnight stay because of my preference for the Marriott brand. I would have selected a motel down the street at 1/2 the cost had I had any idea of what was in store for me. 1) Had to change rooms 2x. First room the A/C was very noisy (older building with in-wall A/C unit), Second room the toilet handle was broken and would not flush. Ugh... after driving 8 hours. 2) Ordered room service for dinner. More like carryout. Room service came in a paper bag, food in to-go containers, can of soda, no glass or ice, no silverware. $36 for a sandwich, fries and can of soda. Ugh... after driving 8 hours. 3) at check-in - I was welcomed as a Bonvoy member and was told I would have access to the the lounge on the 6th floor for continental breakfast. Went to the lounge the next morning and the key did not work. Went to the desk and was met by the Operations Manager, who told me I was not entitled to the continental breakfast because of the perk is only offered to higher Bonvoy memberships, not "Gold" members like me. Fine, but it was offered to me at check-in so they should have honored. Instead, he explained that their employees are new and need more training and he turned me away. All this for just a one night stay. After expressing my dissatisfaction with my stay for the reasons above, he then offered the continental breakfast. What an insult! I declined the offer that came way too late. Bad service, hotel is old and rundown and expensive. Do yourself a favor... stay at one of the other hotels in the area.

Staying at this hotel was a great time travel experience back to the 1970’s. Because I have to guess that Pretty much nothing in this property has changed since then. Room: it was clean. In wall AC provided plenty of cooling but an in wall unit is more of what I’d expect at a lower level property. Large screen tv with good selection of channels. Bathroom was basic but functional with pump dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, soap. One bar of soap provided for sink. Some proven floor tiles and a basic vanity. View was of parking lot with wooded backdrop. I don’t think there is such a thing as a room with a good view here as it is just a stand along property off the highway. But absolutely no highway noise. And ample parking. Amenities; minimal gym. Small indoor pool. Starbucks in lobby. Bar. Restaurant- breakfast was limited to menu service although buffet options were listed no buffet existed. Looks like there is an option for outdoor seating. Really nothing wrong but it is also nothing to write home about. And below what I usually experience in a full service Marriott. Not a good location if you are planning on touring Boston or doing business in the city. but a decent launch point to enjoy the north shore or do business north of the city. All staff were friendly.

This hotel, although not a new hotel, has a lot to offer. It is a hotel that has a banquet hall for weddings and such plus a few meeting rooms to hold other events. A wedding was held there during the Saturday of our 7 night stay, but we missed those festivities as we were out sightseeing in one of the towns nearby. That is probably the best selling pt for the hotel - it's proximity to other areas on the North Shore. The main lobby was kind of strange though as the path from the front doors to the front desk was easily visible from the bar/lounge area. That seemed a bit awkward as people watchers at the bar would be able to see everybody who entered the hotel. Maybe making the bar/lounge area a bit more separate would alleviate that issue. Regardless of that the room was perfect - a king size bed, a large flat screen TV, a coffee maker with supplies, and a well appointed and clean bathroom with linens, but it only had a very small fridge which could have been larger. The bedding was fine, although the bed itself seemed old and probably needed replacement as I seemed to wind up in the middle every morning. Oh yeah, maybe a room safe should also be available. The other great selling point is the pool. It was well maintained and very clean. The pool area was lacking lounge chairs but a large number of lounge chairs seemed to have been brought to the small area outside next to the pool. Some of those should be brought in every night. There also needs to be smaller tables that can fit between the lounge chairs as the only tables in the pool area were 3 large round ones with 4 normal chairs around each of them. The other good selling pt for the hotel was the restaurant. The food was great, but the menu was limited. And last but definitely not least, the final selling point was the staff. All of the staff from behind the front desk to housekeeping were great. They all seemed to make our stay enjoyable fulfilling all of our small requests - from extra bathroom linens to change for the soda machine. Speaking of which, when we stayed there the soda machines seemed to work well enough, but as our stay drew to a close, those same soda machine started giving me problems with not giving change and not giving back my money. The hotel staff was great about it, but we were told that the service guy was coming the day we were to leave to service those machines. If it was a known problem that the soda machines weren't working properly, a sign on each stating "Out of Order" would have been appropriate. All in all, though, it was a great stay.

Stayed here for one night for my DD dance "Nationals". Used the app for early check in, which was available and convenient. 12:00 checkout was a lifesaver seeing that she performed around then and needed every moment to get ready and not worry about packing up and checking out. Will say that the mobile key on the app never worked though. The Pros: Food and drink at the bar were very good. Drinks made extremely well! Service was friendly, no complaints at all here. Same for front desk, very friendly and welcoming. Used room service the next morning and it was delivered quickly, no problems at all. The Cons: The smell. We had a corner room which was very roomy and spacious, but the smell was not a fresh, cleaned, hotel room smell! Not sure if its mold or mildew, it's very hard to explain but it was off putting for sure. I brought my aromatherapy diffuser with me and that helped to mask it, but without it I would have insisted on moving rooms. I saw that other reviewers posted the same thing regarding the smell. Seeing that we were just here for one night, thats about all we can note. Would stay here again if they fix the "smell" problem. Otherwise it will be a hard NO if they have Nationals at this facility again next year.

Checked in on the app for 10:15pm, arrived at 10:25pm. Digital key was still processing, so went to the desk to get a key. App states restaurant is open until 11:59pm, however front desk said that the restaurant closed at 11:00pm. We dropped our bags at the room and got back downstairs at 10:40pm. Walk into the bar area and bartender says the restaurant is closed for the night. I mentioned that the front desk said we had 30 mins and should still have a few left, will gladly take up to the room. A lady standing beside him said that Room Service was the only thing available and there was only 10 mins left. Went back to the room and opened the app to order food, however the menu doesn’t populate. Nothing for snacks, nothing for All Day, nothing for anything. We find the card in the room with the QR code on it to open the menu. By the time we did so, guess what? Now closed. Loaded the fam up in the car and went to a fast food place that was open until 2:00am. Unfortunate that they don’t have their own hours correct in their own app/site. Also unfortunate that their front desk staff (literally 30-40 feet away in an open lobby area), don’t seem to know the hours. Or maybe the restaurant person just wanted to leave. Either way, poor service.

Booked a room for my daughter Justine Lee, this is her review: "I stayed in the Boston Marriott Peabody for 13 DAYS. The bus stop was right in front the hotel which made it convenient since I did not have a car. The bed was big, and the room was a decent size. They also served Starbucks coffee in the morning which I personally loved. However, it was all ruined because of this. After the first few nights, I've noticed that I had several bites on my leg, I didn't really think of it at first until it got really itchy. I reported it directly to the Head of Housekeeping: Jason, and was told that they would inspect the room a day after I reported it. Then "delayed" the inspections until the day I LEFT. Not to mention that I was also being ACCUSED of the one bringing in the bed bugs by Jason (which obviously did not come from me) because of how long I stayed. I just called today to ask for an update on the inspection, but was told that there were no findings. They did not even email or notify me regarding the results, and I had to be the one to contact them. The stay wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't handled this way. Special thanks to Hunter and the other front desk lady that starts with the letter J (she's from Lynn) for genuinely trying to help me during my stay."

The young man at the front desk (Robert), is a true asset to your company. He went above and beyond our expectations and went out of his way to assist us. Really a true gentleman. The hotel lobby was beautiful and recently updated. The rooms, hallways, and common areas really need to be updated. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.
