This was my 3rd summer trip to Martha's Vineyard in September and the weather was just perfect- AGAIN!. I am going to be honest in this review. I had planned to stay at another B&B but it was booked. I know I wanted to be on Sea View and the Capricorn House met the criteria. As a single traveler, I... More

The Capricorn House sits just across the street from the beach, with the famous Inkwell Beach just to your right. We stayed for 3 nights right after Labor Day (2015). Our room, number 4, I think, had a great ocean view with a large deck. Although, I have to say, if I return I would get a less expensive room... More

We love our annual pilgrimage to The Capricorn House. Its like coming home to friends and family after a long dry spell. We were welcomed with a bug hug and lots of conversation. We stayed in the two bedroom suite in the back, with a small sitting room. The suite is not big in size, but is large on personality... More

Labor Day weekend on the island would not be the same without a stay at Capricorn House. Love the location, great breakfast (summer fruit cobbler - yum!), and very friendly staff. We always get a warm welcome when we stay here. The owner and staff are around if you want them for something, but they let you enjoy your time... More

Let me start by saying the continental breakfast was just fine. I don't know what was going on back there with that one reviewer. We booked far in advance and were able to get the least expensive room which was clearly advertised as very small. But it was fine. We were there three nights. When we got there in the... More

I was reluctant to write a review after our stay here. I know from reading the innkeepers responses to past negative reviews that our concerns will be tossed aside. They will be deemed as trivial ramblings of yet another guest who was unable to successfully communicate their concerns while staying at this over-priced, cramped, and inhospitable “bed and breakfast”. Let... More

My family's been coming here for years. We've had nothing but a great time staying with the Diodati Family and would recommend to anyone wanting a more standardized experience that they check in at the Marriott where they can get a perfectly cloned room and breakfast. Yes, the rooms are on the small side but I would think it's fairly... More

From the moment she opened her mouth I knew this stay at the Capricorn was not going to be a superior one. The inn keeper started off explaining the rules and procedurs of the house, rule #1 we lock our front doors at 10pm and every morning I make a home cooked breakfast that I put out on this table... Well. . . . where do I even start. Well lets start with the good since that list is shortest. We stayed three hellish night with these rude people. The best thing that came out of this stay was all the beach time we got in; since the water was so close. The food was horrid. stale cereal, muffins that did... More

Thank you for your review; and taking the time to voice your concerns. It was frustrating having the large trucks on the beach; however, beyond our control and gone now having accomplished a beautiful beach restoration. As for the added gratuity fees, they are now and have always been clearly depicted on our website (since the fee was instituted). We... More
