We only stayed for two nights but enjoyed our stay. Ordered from their limited dinner menu but all five adults loved our dinners of salads and pizza. The different and many choices for breakfast were a step up from many other hotels. This may not have been in the heart of Boston, but we did travel back and forth each day without issues.
The first night we checked in there was some room issues, but the front desk took care of them promptly and moved us to a different room. After that everything was great. The breakfast was amazing and the waters we were given daily were a nice treat. They also have amazing desserts.
At check-in we were well received by a very courteous lady, who checked us in with a smile on her face. One or two others were similar but a few others were very abrupt, never smiled and even either mistreated or completely disregarded us. We stayed at he hotel for 14 nights. We were told at check-in that the room was to be cleaned every four days but even for that to happen we had to specifically request it. And even when the room was “made-up” (as saying it was “cleaned” would be a big over-statement!), no used glasses were replaced, the bed was very poorly made and the same insect wing that was stuck to the bathroom wall was there from the 1st the last day we were there. The ice machine on the floor was broken during our entire stay and I had to go up two floors every night to get ice. One night we ordered food and when I went down to get the food, I brought with me the ice bucket and asked for ice, to which I received the reply: "you have to go up to the 5th or 7th floor to get it". I then asked if I was understanding it correctly and that the person was telling me to go up to get the ice I asked for, instead of simply getting some from the kitchen at the ground level. He then gave me a bad look and went to get the ice. My general comment is that Hyatt should be ashamed to have its name associated with this property. Things are broken, people are rude, carpets are stained, elevators are dirty, rooms are old, dirty and not cleaned frequently enough, etc. And one cannot say that they don’t make enough money, since the garage was always full and we saw people coming in and out all the time. It appears as tough it’s more a bad case of negligence and lack of re-investment!…
The short version: sheets were never changed between me and the previous guest....woke up at 3 in the morning with rice and cracker crumbs stuck to my side (I did not eat food in the room) ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! Whenever I left the building the stench of cigarettes and pot were overwhelming!
I Stayed here in August as I was seeking off my child to college. This hotel is in an Excellent safe location, close to Tufts University. This pet friendly hotel was very helpful in addressing any needs that might have arisen during my stay, including providing extra utensils and plates when my food delivery forgot to send it with my order. Hotel is close to many restaurants, as well as CVS if you need it. Rooms are in great condition and workout area, including pool were awesome. Will be returning whenever I visit my daughter at her college.
There was a labor shortage of the hotel, So, room was cleaned on 4-day circle basis. It resulted in less towels, but more rubbish as normal. Breakfast is relatively simple and repeated every day. Room rate is about 272 USD which was discounted already. Probably it is peak season.
Convenient location to Tufts. Rooms were spacious and had all the amenities needed. Only complaint is the beds were uncomfortable. Mattresses need replacing. Same for the sofa bed - it was all springs. Tony made our breakfast a pleasure with her smile and helpful nature. Raymond, guest relations coordinator was also a delight to talk to and made sure we had fresh towels.
Not a bad hotel but needs some modernisation. Breakfast stops at 9.30 which is not great. Rooms are fine but sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Hotel just seems somewhat tired and need of a face lift. Had to wait 10 mins in reception waiting for staff to check me in. Overall not a great experience
I have always been a loyal customer of Hyatt Place. The Hyatt Place in Medford/Boston exceeded my expectations with great customer service, good breakfast options, clean and well-designed room! I am highly satisfied with my stay at this hotel!
The Hyatt Place Medford is a great dog friendly hotel that has spacious rooms & the hotel offers great amenities such as a daily free breakfast. The room was very clean & had a very spacious window that my Great Dane dog enjoyed looking out.
