Harbor Light Inn has the perfect location that makes Marblehead walkable. It is historical with all of attention to preservation. Each morning a delicious and unique breakfast is provided, and the staff is warm and charming. My husband and I would definitely return. It was wonderful.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Inn for a couple of days as a stop on our 30 day no highway journey from South Florida to Maine. My wife and I stayed here 15 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay then. This time was no different. The staff was super friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. The location superb. Hopefully it will not be another 15 years before we can visit again.

We had a great 1st visit to Marblehead and Harbor Light Inn. Everyone at the inn were very friendly, there was ample parking, the room was small but comfy and we had a huge deck with a comfortable sectional on it. The whole property was well maintained and pretty. Breakfast was delicious! It was my 60th birthday celebration and our son arranged for the inn to have beautiful flowers, champagne and cheese and crackers ready in the room. We will definitely go back to Harbor Light Inn and Marblehead!

Just returned from spending two nights at this lovely inn. It is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the city's attractions. The rooms are large - a mix of colonial charm and modern conveniences. Our room on the top floor was large with high ceilings, original wood beams, a comfortable sofa and armchair as well as a king-sized bed and adequate air conditioning. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, competent and pleasant. There is a small outdoor pool on the premises and the room rates include breakfast which includes several daily choices and can be eaten in the lovely dining room or outdoors in the garden. Sorry we couldn't stay longer!

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our one-year anniversary and it did not disappoint. This place is very cozy and quaint. We stayed in Room 6. We ordered a bottle of their Champy Sparkling Wine when we booked the reservation, and it was waiting for us in the room when we arrived. We enjoyed it by the gorgeous fireplace, but our favorite part was the spa tub of course! It was actually much more spacious than I had anticipated from the pictures and the jets were quite strong, although they are adjustable. I would suggest booking the room that includes the mini fridge, as we did not and had leftovers from dinner that spoiled. There is a microwave in the common area. Other than that, our only regret was only booking one night. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay, and we will be returning!

We had a great two night stay at the marvelous Harbor Light Inn. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible. The immediate area is so much fun to walk and enjoy the historic markers. Great dining was only a short walk away and in addition to exceptional food the waterside views were outstanding. Breakfast at the hotel was very tasty and we loved the idea of the daily menu. Thank you to all the staff, we will return.

This place can with high expectations however we were disappointed with our stay. The room was extremely small although it was clean. We had a long stay and it offered us little comfort. Some of the staff were lovely however requests were just too much effort for others - in-fact they were almost argumentative. The pool was clean however the gardens needed some serious maintenance. Breakfast was very disappointing. Advertised as buffet it actually was a tick box system with little choice. It then came out covered in foil at your choice of time. It was edible but buffet choice would of been preferable. I appreciate this May have been their return from covid methods but we are in many places in the area and nowhere worked in this method. I’m a nutshell this was an expensive stay for a mediocre experience. We’ve been to a lot better for less. This place needs to up their game .

I am so sorry to hear of your disappointment with your stay and especially of your comments on our staff being argumentative. We usually have praise on our service so this came as quite a shock and if you could share more specifics with me directly, I certainly would be appreciative (my email is carolyn@harborlightinn.com). In terms of our garden needing maintenance - I have to say this is the first time I have ever heard a comment like this. We work on our garden almost daily and are very proud of it. We consider it to be a beautiful oasis in the middle of our historic town. Not only does my staff work on it , but we also have professional landscapers come by weekly. In terms of breakfast - yes we are still doing our adapted breakfast due to COVID (versus the buffet) but we offer all the items from our buffet on the menu so guests are not losing out on any offerings. We seem to have more guests comment that they prefer this new way of service (versus the buffet) so for the time being we are sticking with it due to popular demand. I am sorry you did not feel the same way. Please know if you were to ever come back and wanted more of anything with breakfast - we are always happy to get that for you. And we only cover it in foil for you to keep the breakfast warm (and safe!). Thank you again for staying with us and for your comments. We are always striving to give our guests a 5 star experience and take these kinds of reviews seriously.

We were specifically looking to stay in one of the smaller towns on the North Shore, and Marblehead is really charming. The Harbor Light Inn was tremendous, with period furnishings, exposed beams, walking distance to many charming shops and restaurants, etc. While the inn has many rooms, each has unique characteristics, such as exposed beams, garden views, etc. The breakfasts, still prepared on separate trays while we were there for COVID purposes, were gourmet and very creative and healthy. We hope to stay here again when we return to the Boston area

My daughter and I stayed two nights at the quaint Harbor Light Inn. Such care was taken regarding our comfort. Any requests were handled with upmost timeliness. The Inn is beautiful and well maintained. The pool is clean with fresh towels laid out on lounge chairs. The breakfasts are delicious and made to satisfy individually. I would welcome a future stay. Thank You.
