I met a friend and her 2 kids (10 & 8) for an overnight in the Berkshires. Though we ate well in Lenox and walked through Tanglewood in the snow, to be honest, it was hard to leave the Inn. It was delightful to meet our hosts, who seemed to sincerely enjoy welcoming guests. Our rooms were sheer coziness, one...

Jackie, we thank you so so much for writing this review. We loved having the four of you in the inn (five counting the pup)- it was truly a privilege! This review just absolutely made our day! Thanks again! Marcia

Last week I was snowbound at the Federal House for 2 nights--and what a place to be snowbound! The Inn is more than a bed breakfast--it is a place full of warmth, elegance and charm. Health delicious food, artfully presented? Check. Supremely comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated? Check. Warm, gracious, welcoming hosts? Check. I thought I'd spend most of the time...

We had read good things about this place, and they were all true. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast portion was wonderful- I like bacon, but I could easily learn to love it with the bacon they prepared. The scones and fruit were delicious, an everything else was great. The room we had (#4) had more than...

My husband and I are from Pa. We decided to go up to the Berkshires for Valentine's weekend. There are a lot of great museums there. My favorite being the Norman Rockwell Museum. Also we love snow and New England. I chose the Federal House because the rooms looked comfortable and cozy, the price of the rooms were more appealing...

You two are so wonderful- if we end up retiring in Pennsylvania I hope you will let us claim you as friends. Actually for the years we are here in the Berkshires I want that as well but harder to get together. We really enjoyed the brief time we spent with you enough to just be greedy for more. Thanks...

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed. My wife and I intended to spend one night here en route to Philadelphia. The property is lovely, set back from the road. The rooms are tastefully done with the highest quality furnishings -- true luxury. Our bed was extremely comfortable. The housekeeping was immaculate. We were served an outstanding 4...

So here is the thing. We started hoping for the blizzard to continue so that we wouldn't lose you two. You were such wonderful guests we were thrilled to have you snowed in with us. Come back next winter when they are calling for a blizzard (or just come anytime and stay). Uncle Rudy is going to miss you desperately....

The Berkshires at New Years can be cold and harsh but the welcome we received from innkeepers Marcia and Ken was warm and inviting. Our second overnight visit was as cozy and comfortable as our first back in the spring. Our spacious room had a fireplace but it was the early evening wine and cheese followed by the morning's hearty...

I am so sorry that it has taken me a month to respond to this wonderful and much appreciated review. At the same time, finding it today was fun. I went to check this site because the last month has been surprisingly busy (we were gone to the national innkeepers conference in California and took advantage to spend time with...

My new husband and I spent our "mini-moon" in the Stockbridge area and we stayed at the Federal House Inn. We were exhausted from all of the wedding activity and needed a relaxing few days! We found the perfect spot at the Federal House. The first night we were too tired to go out that they made us home-made soup...

We were so incredibly honored to have the two of you here on your mini-moon. It was honestly a privilege for us and it will be when you return on those anniversaries. I am predicting 80+ of those anniversaries as you both are geniuses at picking a spouse! Thank you for this review which meant a lot but thanks even...

Marsha and Ken are new innkeepers, but have figured it out quickly. Really nice experience, starting with a quick tour, a clean and pleasant room, access to a stocked guest fridge with water, beer, and soda (yes, beer), 5pm wine and cheese, cozy sitting/reading areas, and delicious 3-4 course breakfast. 15 minutes from Great Barrington restaurants/movies. Would certainly visit again.

I was searching on-line for a B&B in the Lenox area earlier this year, and came across the Federal House Inn. It is often difficult to choose among accommodations, and I often make my selections based on Trip Advisor reviews and gut-feeling. My instinct told me that this was the best choice of those available. I contacted the Inn to...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I say? Whatever I say it won't come close to being a response good enough for that review! Guests who become family are the very best part of innkeeping. (reading a review like this also pretty high on the list!) We are so so appreciative that we have been blessed with guests like you. Thank you from...

If you are like me who does not enjoy cookie-cutter accommodation/service from chain hotels and inns and if you enjoy being pleasantly surprised by superb, personal service, you will love and look forward to repeat stays at this stately home built in 1824. Ideally situated near very beautiful Berkshire attractions like Stockbridge, the Norman Rockwell Museum and Tanglewood, it is...

Oh Sam!! You and David are simply the best! Thanks beyond measure for the review and for the Merry Christmas phone call.
