We spent two nights at the Thornewood Inn. The first night was terrible -- we were booked into their "last room available", located in "the carriage house." We barely slept all night. There was an air conditioning unit that we were unable to turn off, which kept turning on at random intervals and sounded like a jet engine. As if...

The Thornewood is a perfectly serviceable B&B that does some things exceptionally well, and others not well at all. The good: - The food in the restaurant is exceptional and there is occasionally live music - We found the Inn to be immaculate and comfortable - Despite its proximity to the road, the rooms were relatively quiet The challenging: -...

Spending a few days in the Berkshires in July was pleasure enough, but the icing on the cake was staying at the Thorewood Inn! Innkeeper and owner, Terry and her daughter, Laurie, were so welcoming to us and their other guests. They were very attentive to our needs and ensuring that our stay with them was memorable. The dining room...

My family and I decided to take a trip up to Great Barrington for Memorial Weekend and we loved everything about The Thornewood Inn. We could not ask for a more enjoyable, relaxing weekend getaway. This is a charming, cozy, and comfortable inn. David is a real gentleman and he was so accomdating to my family. I cannot say enough...

I stayed for a weekend with my mother. During our stay the Thornewood had a larger party staying for a wedding, so we were a bit concerned that we wouldn’t be able to sit for breakfast, but there was AMPLE room in the dining area. The owners are wonderful, and they do everything themselves. They even built and constructed most...

The Thornwood Inn looks very charming outside, which is what sold us, as well as the very friendly owners who run this place. Our room was lovely, it was a good size, nice decor and the common space looked nice in a Inn-ish way as well. But the alluring charm and the nice owners could not prevent the disappointment I...

We stayed one night. The room was lovely and we slept very well. I do agree there is insufficient light in which to do your make up though! The staff were very nice especially the lady serving breakfast which was very tasty - muffins, poached eggs, toast and fruit. It is a shame we were the only guests and the...

David and Terry at Thornewood Inn were terrific . They were so helpful and gracious at the Rehearsal Dinner we hosted for our son's wedding. We live in CT but after the first walk thru the dining room (which sold us on the location) we were able to arrange a marvelous dinner using e-mail and the phone. We had a...

Everything about our stay at The Thornewood Inn was nice. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfy. The shower, although small, had a great showerhead and lots of pressure. The breakfast was plentiful, and the dining room sunny and charming. All in all we had a very nice stay. We wish we had been there when the restaurant...

We stayed in the carriage house 2 and although the amenties were nice, the room smelled horrible. There is a mildew/musty smell in the room and you cannot open up the windows. The service was nice and the grounds are pretty. We were surprised that the b&b did not do anything to get rid of the terrible odor.
