We stayed one night while visiting friends in nearby Beverly. The rates were lower here than other area hotels, and we hadn’t planned on doing much more than sleeping here, so the Sea Lion was a perfect choice for us. We had a room on the lower level and couldn’t see the ocean from our windows, but you can see it in the distance from the parking lot. The upper level rooms appeared to have good views from the balconies outside. There is an outdoor pool, but it hadn’t opened for the season yet when we stayed. Our room was tiny, with a queen bed, a small table with two chairs, a closet and a mini fridge and microwave. A small TV sat atop a chest of drawers. There was just enough room to walk around the bed, but little more. Again, this was fine as we spent very little time in the room. There was an adjacent bathroom with a tub/shower combo. If you are looking to stretch out here over a couple of days, you’ll want to request a larger unit. All in all, we found our stay enjoyable enough. The staff at the front desk was friendly and our room was very clean. We did have to relocate 3 spiders found walking on the ceiling over the course of our stay, but that’s likely due to the change in seasons in New England. They were small and innocuous enough, and I mention it only so that housekeeping can keep an extra eye out for possible “roommates”. Additionally, the bed in our room (I don’t recall the unit number) was starting to sag in the middle. We slept pretty well regardless.…
We found this place driving up from Salem to Rockport. We called the motel to see if they had availability and the lady on the phone was very kind and helpful and even gave us a last minute discount. The motel room was very basic and simple but very clean. The Wi-Fi was spotty. We did hear what sounded like barking dogs in the middle of the night - or were they barking sealions - no idea. The lady at the front desk in the evening was really friendly and helpful. They offered coffee and breakfast bars in the morning. The motel is close to Rockport.
Very nice. Clean updated room, nice pool. Close to Good Harbor Beach. Close to downtown, gas stations, restaurants and supermarkets. Staff/owner was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Reasonably price.
This was my 3rd stay and I just love it. The location is perfect, the pool and distant ocean view is great. The rooms are clean and beds comfy! But, most of all, the entire staff is so friendly and nice! They truly go out of their way to make their guests happy! I look forward to my next trip in October!
I stayed here in an efficiency for several months as a travel nurse. Staff is great and management on top of every need. The pool was great, the cabin grand, I worked crazy hours but it was nice to know that if I needed something I had a number to call. Would not hesitate staying again.
