My husband, myself, and our 6 year old son stayed here overnight on July 27th. I was quite apprehensive after reading the reviews. We stayed in room 154. The back door lead right to the pool. The outside of this motel is not appealing at all, but our room was just fine. We needed more towels and called the front desk and they were delivered within 5 minutes. The room is your standard hotel looking room. The water in the shower was so powerful, but it was great after a day at the beach. My husband and son used the pool and said it was good. The water was nice and clean. The room has a small fridge, a microwave, and a flat screen tv. I didn’t see a hair dryer, but I didn’t need one so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, the room served our purpose as a place to sleep. The

I really liked the fact that it was a 1/2 mile walk to the beach. Whoever is charging 35$ a day for parking at beach is a thief or better yet a pirate Think volume Cleanliness could have been better at lodge. They didn't vacuum floors or change beds:(

Three seniors in the room, but only towels (thin at best) for 2. Informed no roll away bed available, but most of motel appears closed for season. Paint peeling in and near bathroom, sink outside of bathroom, in sleeping area. Appears carpet not cleaned for some time.

was absolutely disgusting. We called the emergency night number and the person said that they couldn't do anything about it that late at night. The toilet did not flush, and they wouldn't move us to a new room. This is at 12:30am when we checked in after a 16 hr day of vending in Salem. There was pubic and regular hairs on the pillows, in the bed, in the shower and on the towels. There is clumps of hair in the shower drain. The first floor window was completely open and the back door was not locked when we arrived. They (the hotel) is refusing to refund my $150 for this room

This motel is horrible and misrepresented as a deluxe room. Paint is peeling, holes in the blankets, cigarette burn hole in the quilt, filth in the corners of the bathroom and tub, and on the faucet, tub non - slip strips coming up, rust on the shower head, paint chips on bathroom floor, crayon marks on a wall, a bobby pin, a needle and a nail clipping on the carpet near a bed, filth on an inside and outside door. They leave you a number for service call for after 9, but no one answered at 7in the office, nor ever called back. It cost $144.85 to stay in this hell hole!

Let me start by saying room was clean & very basic. TV was up to date flat screen, fridge worked well. $321 for 8/30 depart 9/1 total. Now I would like to suggest ugly bedspreads be replaced with white comforters. When I see ugly bedspreads I promptly fold them up and throw them on the floor. Additionally the dark green carpet should be pulled up and replaced with either laminate flooring, tile, or even linoleum so that guests know the floor is clean. I had to call the office for a blow dryer and tissues however I would like to say that they arrived at the room within 5 minutes of the call to credit the management on promptness for that. Have not been in a motel or hotel that I can ever remember that the room did not have a blow dryer. Additionally the rooms are listed as

Nice large room with good beds, strong shower, tv and wifi. Also microwave and small fridge, although everything we left overnight froze. Exterior view misleading; interior just fine. Best of all was Common Crow Market right across the street - the best vegan food selection we have seen anywhere!

We stayed at the Captain's Lodge for two nights near the end of July. The overall appearance of this motel indicates that at some time in the past it must have been a real nice place. The tennis courts looked like they have been abandoned; the parking lot is in great need of repaving; and everything looks old. The swimming pool, however, appeared to be clean and well kept. Our room was adequate, clean and recently renovated. However, the WiFi was practically non-existent. Could not get online in our room and was told to come down to the office. Even there, the signal was so weak that e-mail wouldn't open! The price was reasonable and if you're looking for a place just to sleep and take a swim... this is your place! One point of concern, however, was exiting the parking

This is the worse place I ever stayed in. Room was dirty had not been cleaned. Toilet has urine stains going down the sides, shower had hair in it, curtain was moldy and ripped. Floor was not vacuum bottle caps and change on floor. Could no open window because screens were ripped. Outside chairs all broken. Person in office did not care. They should be ashamed of them selves

I can’t believe what we were charged for our room. I would have rather camped (and I hate to camp!!). We were there for 4 nights. Not once was our room vacuumed. There was so much paint pealing inside the shower stall. The chairs outside our room were both broken and there was a cup with cigarette butts that looked like they were there for 6 months. Save your self money...Don’t go!!!
