I'll concur the review previous to this in several aspects. The fact that this inn is so close to the beach is an amazing feature. You are within walking distance to Good Harbor Beach. Sunrises and sunsets were very nice both on the beach and in the inn as well. I feel bad leaving an "average" review because the hosts...

We’ve seen two recent guests comment on TripAdvisor that the Blue Shutters “isn’t for light sleepers”, and we thought we should respond. We like to think the Blue Shutters has something for everyone – and even light sleepers will enjoy a stay here (we’re pretty sure many already have). But it is true this is an older building, meaning we...

The view is incredible, no question and the beach lovely. But walls are like paper and the decor is seriously out of date. Okay for a circa 1975 cabin but not at these prices. Bed linens are very cheap and in some cases torn. Basically poor quality everything though the hosts are very nice and helpful. We stayed in the...

As newcomers to the Blue Shutters we enjoyed a relaxing weekend on a beautiful beach, walked along a gorgeous shoreline, and were in good company of those at the Inn. Our room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the beach. Light breakfast nosh, with coffee, fruit , yogurt and some baked goods offered. It was a great...

We stayed here two nights in early September. The location right across from Good Harbor Beach is delightful. The living room has a great picture window situation overlooking the ocean with cozy seating. Our room also had an ocean view. We opened the windows to enjoy the sounds of the waves and the gulls at night. Ed and Tony and...

Pay no attention to any reviews prior to 2007. Ed and Ann Marie have done an awesome job with this place. Spent Labor day weekend there and couldn't have been more pleased. Room was charming and the location is unbeatable!

Took Mom for a girls weekend to escape the city for the beach and some shopping in Gloucester/Rockport. This area has a million things going on, we spent our time beaching, looking for lighthouses (there are multiple in the area) dining out at local restaurants and checking out the local artist scene. The Innkeepers were excellent host and extremely helpful...

Just arrived home yesterday and began missing the Blue Shutter Inn from moment we left parking spot! This Inn is a wonderful place with amazing owners and staff. The beach is so close, just steps away. The town of Gloucester pulls at my heart until I return for my next visit! My only regreat is not having said good bye...

We just returned home from a wonderful stay in Gloucester at the Blue Shutters Beachside Inn. The proximity to the beach, the amazing view and spacious accomodations (we were in the Beachside rooms) made our stay so much fun. We have a 20 month old and we were nervous about traveling with him to the beach but it was a...
