Just spent a very nice weekend in this quirky but excellent inn. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The third floor is worth the steps. If you are tall, you do need to watch your head. No issue on the second floor. The owner is very helpful in suggesting places to see and where to eat.

Growing up in southern MA, when I think of Fairhaven I think of Stop & Shop, Wal-Mart and the rival Blue Devils (boo). But there's a little section of the town that looks like you're in England somewhere outside of London -- grand buildings, beautiful landscape, historic houses. Everything was awesome, and the staff and service were terrific. Our favorite...

Thank you. Yes, there is a convenient commercial area of town. But, this historic center shows the real character of Fairhaven. Settled in the early 1700's, the housing stock in this part of town is from 1700's and 1800's. We are a few blocks from the working waterfront (this harbor produces the highest grossing catch in america), 50 yards from...

This is what a B&B should be. Beautiful, historic home. The living room was furnished with period furniture but was extremely inviting for the evening glass of wine. The facility is spectacular. The grounds are beautiful. Our host was extremely gracious and gave us a full tour as we checked in. FULLY stocked kitchen 24/7 and open for all guests....

My wife and I stayed at the Delano Homestead, and found it a very welcoming and charming spot to use as our jumping-off point to explore the surrounding area. The owner and staff were very gracious and friendly, and we loved the historic component of the house. Breakfast was a vast buffet spread - definitely got us ready for the...

I recently spent a week at the Delano Homestead with my husband and our 9 month old baby and we really enjoyed our stay. The house is stunning: so beautifully decorated and with so much character and history. It made a lovely change to staying in a hotel chain. The owner, Paul was a great host. He advised us on...

Hello Lucy and Simon: Thank you for the kind words. I am glad that you had such a nice visit, even though it was shoulder season here by the coast. Your baby was well-behaved and you were a delight to have. We hope we see you again sometime. Paul

We stayed in this lovely Bed & Breakfast set in the idlyllic village of Fairhaven in late August. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at the old Homestead of FDR. The moment that you arrive, one has the feeling that you are staying with family. The building itself is from the early 1800's and has been meticulously...

This is a beautiful historic house, in a quiet and lovely historic district, minutes from restaurants, marinas. Front room was large and comfortable, but did not have a private bath. Another smaller bedroom did have an en suite bathroom. Beds and bedding were excellent.

Thanks for the kind words. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Just to be clear for our other guests: all three rooms have private baths. The Warren Delano Room has a private bath that is about 5 feet outside the room on a small hall and we provide robes. The other two rooms have bathrooms ensuite. --Paul

We arrived late a friday night and Heidi was waiting for us to show us all the commodities offered in the beautiful historic house. After a amazing breakfast saturday morning, we took the firts ferry to Martha's Vinyaerd at New Bedford, next to Fairhaven and came back with the last ferry of the day. The day after, after another delicious...

The wife and I highly recommend this B&B. One of FDR's family summer homes, the well appointed home has wonderfully high ceilings, a regal cherry staircase winding its way to the second story, and very comfortable rooms. Ours had a private bath with a jacuzzi feature which was perfect after a full day of motorcycling touing the coastline. The innkeeper...
