Fire alarm detector in room off ceiling, ripped furniture. Not very clean. For close to $200 a night very bad deal. Public areas and elevators not clean. First stay at a Sonesta, may be last. Sonesta years ago was a great brand, very very disappointing.
Quite bad. Shortly after 9:00 PM as I was getting ready for bed, a woman swiped a key and opened my door. There I was in my boxer shorts. She was as shocked as I was and explained the front desk just checked her into this room. She went back downstairs, and I got dressed and went down a few minutes later. 5 different guests were standing in the lobby trying to get checked in. 2 members of hotel staff were at the computers trying to figure out why the rooms showed as "Clean" when they were actually occupied. I went back up to my room, but my key no longer worked because someone else had been checked into my room. Back to the lobby I went. The traveler holding the new key to my room wouldn't give it up because she feared it linked to her credit card. Eventually the hotel staff told the 5 travelers that the hotel was fully booked and they had no rooms for them. This Sonesta had somehow double booked the rooms by selling the rooms directly and also selling them on Expedia. It got a bit heated in the lobby then, as the understandly upset travelers stated how hard it would be to get a new hotel at that time of night. Oddly, the front desk staff repeatedly told them to "calm down". Telling someone to "calm down" is not the way to make someone calm! Finally everyone left, the staff made me a new key, and I got back into my room at 10:00 PM. I couldn't sleep after that experience and now I feel a need to bolt my room at all times if I ever stay at Sonesta again. I wonder if I can safely leave any valuables like my laptop in the room while I'm at the gym. The safe in my room was broken, so I couldn't even use that. The hotel flooring is dirty and stained, the walls all dinged up, and about half the power outlets work. The loveseat cushions are also stained and ripped in places. The breakfast was strange, with a little table where you go up and ask a staff member for a piece of fruit or a bagel wrapped in cellophane. It seemed like they thought just leaving those items out for guests to take would result in guests taking too much? It was truly an odd experience and I don't see how I'd ever stay here again. The only bright side is I have an interesting story to tell.…

Stayed this past weekend and had a wonderful experience and a very comfortable stay! From check in to check out nothing but positive things to share! We loved the pool area as well as the grill being in the perfect location to the pool! The Basketball court was a nice add to weekend with the kids !! The room was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook a meal. We will definitely be back! Thank you Sonesta staff for making our stay perfect!! A special thanks to the Manager Charles for doing an awesome job with this location and your staff.
Paid close to $300 for one night in a suite. One of the extended stay residents sat outside my window in a pool chair playing loud music, so I could not get to sleep. It took a couple calls to the desk and about an hour and a half to get the guy to shut off the music and go away. Desk staff suggested it was my fault for complaining at 7 in the evening, before quiet time at 10 pm. I had just flown in from another continent, and was suffering jet lag and had to go to bed immediately. This place is just what you do not want when you need to get some rest and quiet after traveling.
I want to write a fair review. The pros: decent bed, good hot shower, nice front desk - those are really some of the things that count most. And they were fine. The cons: maybe the dirtiest / poorest repair hotel room I've ever been in - and that at $340/night for a 2BR suite - upholstery on sofa couch torn / stained; dirty washcloth from prior guest hanging in bathroom; paint peeling; tile floor in bathroom cracked and basically shifting under foot as you walk in bathroom; carpet TERRIBLY stained to where you don't want to take your shoes off - and my foot stuck to the carpet at some point in the morning. Hallways massively stained carpet and really beat up paint. If we had paid $100 for the room, it might be easier to overlook the condition / cleanliness of the room. But at $340 you have to be able to compete with even a basic mid-range hotel chain. I don't fault the staff - again, they were nice, helpful, and great - but I fault Sonesta for not maintaining their property in a way where I'm encouraged to want to come back. Sonesta is more-or-less 'off' my list for future stays - I don't have much confidence that another property, etc would be better. For what it's worth, I stayed 2-3x/month at a hotel in Seattle that Sonesta purchased from Kimpton - over the past 1.5 years that Sonesta has owned it, it has gone a bit downhill. My stay in Burlington confirmed that this might be a corporate issue.…
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. So many problems and potential accidents (lawsuit). Carpet was stained and popping out in the middle of the room...so much that I tripped over the carpet protrusion. Luckily I caught myself before I fell. Sofa was worn down and did not have back cushions. Furniture was sticky...I washed my hands after sitting every time. Showers had no stability bars and my foot slipped while trying to climb in to the bathtub. Public area were all dirty and worn down. I'm really, really surprised this hotel was rated so well. Honestly it should be rated a 1-star hotel. The rooms and common area look nothing like the pictures on the website. First time at any Sonesta...and last time for this brand.
Located in Burlington, near the mall; these are kitchenettes but the appliances are the cheapest I've seen; the carpeting is terrible; the beds not comfortable; not as sparkling clean as many nearby hotels. We won't be staying here again although the location is great. This hotel needs refurbishing; it is spartan like in appointments; the room furniture was cheap and the rate was not.
I rented a 2 bedroom suite for a brother’s weekend and room was filthy dirty, it had visible stains every also what looked like blood stains. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, the only reason we ended up stayed and not walking out was that we arrived at 2 am after a 10 hour drive for just a weekend trip and we didn’t want to spend it looking for another hotel to possibly end up the same. But I will upload photos so you can judge for yourself.
I thought this hotel was newer than it is. It was very clean but, I found it a bit run down. The carpeting and the elevators could use some updating. The staff was very friendly and you could not beat the rate. There is breakfast to go. We have not had it yet so I am not sure what is included. I did get hot coffee first thing and that was included. Our room was comfortable but small. There is a small kitchen and a love seat. We had a king size bed that was comfortable.
