Detailed Reviews
My husband and I recently stayed at Inn at Perry Cabin and we are still telling friends about our time. It was the perfect way to get away but not too far from home. We were a little reluctant to travel so soon after things opened up, but I am a glad that we did. When we went, the room rate included breakfast and dinner, which was great because we could stay at the hotel for everything without needing to venture into town. The food was was delicious and we were impressed with the fact that they had a canine menu for our pup. Service in both the hotel and restaurant was great and the staff was very friendly and personable. You can tell the Inn is taking pride in enforcing and encouraging social distancing and the staff went out of their way to make sure the hotel was clean at all times. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. We look forward to returning to the Inn one day soon and staying longer next time!

I stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin to get away from the city for a bit after months of COVID stay at home. The Inn was absolutely amazing! From driving up the tree lined drive, the staff were welcoming and accommodating. My room was extremely comfortable and the deck and view were perfect. I sat there looking out over the water, watching the waves and found a happy place! There are also bicycles and kayaks (included in room) to take out as well as boat/yacht rentals.
The restaurant is a must if you're staying there or if you're just in St. Michaels. The menu is a multi-course prix fix, and each option is delicious. There's some combinations that I've never had or thought of before that were well done, surprising, and absolutely delicious. Breakfast is also excellent with everything made fresh in house and farm to table.
Regarding COVID- the hotel was spotlessly clean all the time, there were precautions for social distancing, everyone was wearing a mask, and they limited the capacity so people could spread out. I didn't worry about it at all.
I will definitely be staying there again.

We have been coming here for 20 years We love St. Michal's. Our sprawling suite with private deck, overlooking the Bay had a breathtaking view! My hubby and I celebrated our 30th anniversary here last weekend and it was fantastic.
Our suite was huge, big living room with a comfy couch. The bedroom was massive and private, had a door, so hubby could watch the football game on Sunday in the living room, while I watched "When Harry met Sally" in the other room.
Marble bathroom had a great shower, upgraded toiletries, plush towels and robes and a private toilet room.
Lastly, the deck, amazing! We had morning coffee out here, it was peaceful and quiet, great way to start the day.
We did enjoy dinner at Stars Restaurant - I highly recommend the Roasted Beet Salad and crab cakes. A complimentary champagne toast awaited us for our 30th Anniversary dinner.
We will be back soon!

My husband and I returned to the Inn at Perry Cabin for our second trip here since our first wedding anniversary two and half years ago. We found the property to be well kept up, extremely clean and the grounds beautifully maintained. All that said, the service was seriously lacking since our last visit. Our dining experiences were very mixed due to both very slow and inattentive service and mediocre food. Often times we would receive condiments and other items requested before we started eating only to receive them after we had finished our meals. Servers would abandon us for much of the duration of our meals so it was difficult to even order a second drink or request a refill. I know with accommodations they are making to ensure guest and staff safety during COVID pandemic, they only are booking up to 50% occupancy in the hotel. I would think with there being limited guests the staff could accommodate with better service.
Regarding the quality of food, I felt there were very limited options for dining, and the quality of those items were very lack luster. Don’t get me wrong, in most cases the food would get a solid “B”, but for $700+/night hotel, the food was not in line with our expectations.
Overall, the staff was friendly and generally we felt well taken care of but the dining service levels and food quality really call into question whether the price tag is worth the stay at this property.

On our return visit to the Inn at Perry Cabin we were welcomed by a friendly valet team member who took our bags. Once the car was parked we walked to the front door and enjoyed the beautiful display of flowering plants on either side of the walkway.
The reception worker was not very friendly. She was able to tell us that our room was not ready even though we could have had a 12:00 check in when available. She directed us to the Pub where we purchased a drink and waited to be called. The Pub was pleasant and the workers there were very friendly. After an hour’s wait in the Pub, I walked to the reception and just past 4:00 our room was ready.
We walked up the staircase through the quiet hallway to our room. It had high ceilings that gave the illusion that the room was larger than it was. In the room we had a comfortable king sized bed with soft linens, a desk, sofa, two chairs, a coffee table, a small armoire to hang our clothes, a safe, and a coffee maker with one bottle of water per day. There were also two robes and slippers and a small refrigerator. There were no drawers for folded pieces of clothing and no other closet. The TV control as cleaned daily and placed in a protected sleeve.
The small bathroom had a pedestal sink that provided little storage. There was a small stand that could squeeze some products on it. Minimal toiletries were provided by the hotel. There was no hook to hang a robe, no exhaust fan to prevent a steaming bathroom, and no safe place to put the hairdryer while using it. There was a half glass shower door on the tub that leaked and a tub that would only drain when the stopper was removed.
The temperature in the room was inconsistent as was the WiFi and there was no turn down service. The room was quiet all night except the last when a noisy family moved in. A red rope ball could be placed on the door for privacy.
We enjoyed the balcony with a table and two directors’ chairs overlooking the water and the lovely grounds. We also noticed private greenhouses near the water for private dining and thought that they were a nice addition. There were many chairs and tables near the water for outdoor relaxation though there were no umbrellas to protect from the sun. I would suggest taking some bug spray because the biting insects were a problem.
During our short stay, we did not utilize any of the other facilities or the golf club.

My husband and I decided to take our first trip away from home since COVID-19 struck, in order to celebrate my husband's birthday. We booked a stay at the Inn at Perry Cabin for two nights. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable weekend was ruined by the dishonest and deceptive employees at the Inn, who scammed us out of a total of $500 over two separate incidents.
Before we arrived, I called the Inn to inquire about a private boat tour and was quoted $450, to which I agreed by phone. The Inn did not send a follow up email or communication to confirm the details or cost. We went on the tour as planned. After it ended, I was presented with a non-itemized receipt of $550, which stated “private + tax”. I assumed $550 was the total cost of the boat trip with taxes included. However, when we checked out , I was presented a room bill which included a charge of approximately $650 for the ride. When I questioned the amount, the hotel staff told me the boat ride was $550, excluding taxes.
The second incident occurred when we ordered take out from the Inn’s restaurant. My husband asked for a turkey sandwich, the market fish, a charcuterie board, a cocktail, and “the cheapest bottle of red wine”. The staff member who took his order told him about an $80 bottle of wine, and my husband agreed to purchase it.
When we looked at the room bill the next day, we noticed a charge of $660 for the restaurant order. We could not believe our eyes. When we told the hotel staff the amount could not possibly be correct based on what we ordered, they agreed and told us they would investigate and contact us after we left. The next day, they emailed us a receipt for the order, which showed a charge of $375 for the bottle of wine.
The Inn took advantage of us as first-time guests, who had our guards down on a celebratory vacation, by misleading us about hotel costs on not one but TWO occasions during our very short stay at the Inn.

Dear dbb1919, We regret to see you feel this way towards our services here. At all times, we make every effort to exceed our guests’ expectations, and we genuinely regret that this was not possible on this occasion. All checks were presented to you at the time of consumption for which you signed and acknowledged the charges. A review of this nature is regretful as we have only provided you with what you asked, and charged accordingly, not deceptively as you have stated. I have reached out to you to discuss this in further detail and would like to continue the conversation so we may both better understand the circumstances surrounding your stay. Best, Ernesto Rosas Resort Director

The location is amazing, the outdoor space is well laid out and the landscaping is well kept. They have a good gardening staff and seem to focus on that well.
The rooms are disappointing. For the extreme price you'd expect a bit more space. Or have the rooms designed without the massive furniture. If you can't walk around the bed when wardrobe is open should you still have two bulky tables and another chair to further cramp the room.
Our room was also directly next to the Purser bar, so from 3pm until close it was noisy with klinking of glasses, plates and silverware. When we complained they close the outside door which helped with the noise from the bar except when people came to make it creak open. The process repeated itself daily during our stay. The inside of the room was clean enough, but the exterior was a bit unsightly, covered with dirt/algae growth. Yeah, I realized it's on the water, but it didn't look as if it had been cleaned since the winter.
The amenities were fine, but not what I'd expect for $1200 per night. The pool didn't have towels until 10:45-11am each day at which point every seat was already take, so you'd need to get there before 7am to score a towel or hang out until 11 without one. The staff is helpful and friendly, but I had to have a few items fixed on the bill at checkout due to mistakes, the attention to details was not there.
The inn is what I call "pet tolerant" meaning you can have them in the room. You can't leave them, so plan well ahead if you want to eat dinner at the restaurant because the outdoor seats are at a premium and very hard to get. We could never score one for breakfast and had mixed success with dinner. You obviously can't have your pet at the pool, so plan to go in shifts if you want to do that. If your furry family member is noise sensitive be sure to get a room away from the middle of the Inn, as those rooms (like the one we had) provide a constant source of anxiety as the sound travels and echos easily from the main area.
In the end, it's probably one of the nicest place in the area, but I suspect you can find a good time at a much more reasonable price point.

In the midst of the pandemic the Inn at Perry Cabin provides a wonderful escape. The setting is magnificent, the staff incredibly warm and welcoming and the food at Stars Restaurant, is spectacular. We ate on the patio for breakfast and dinner when we dined in. The food is superb, incredible ingredients and choice. And everyone we met who worked in the hotel and restaurant were incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. They also, despite meeting many guests, remember who you are and had a regular supply of treats for our small dog, Wombat!
Also complements to the gardeners who tend the grounds with great care. They were out immediately following a tropical storm repairing any damage and returning the gardens to their immaculate condition within hours.
All in all I could not recommend the hotel and the restaurant more highly.

The resort is very nice and has great views of the River if you pay dearly! $1000 / night Or even if you don’t want to see the river. The restaurant is over priced. Average breakfast cost for 2 is $75 without tip or a Mamosa. The resort has a pool and Tennis and Golf.
The Pete Dye course is a good fair layout, but at $195 fee, it is over priced. Room rates compare to Pebble Beach Lodge rates, and Pebble beach it is not. The pool and fitness center are pretty standard nothing different than most resorts.
Rooms are comfortable however we only had a fitted sheet on our bed and a comforter. I sure hope they changed it. It was odd. The bed was not comfortable. Lower back pain each morning. I guess I love my Sleep Number too much.
The fireworks on the 4th at the Yacht club were easy to see from the resort “Point” and our patio.
Boats are available for charter. We did not take one. Free bike and Kayaks were available for use, but limited.
Town was just a short enjoyable walk (7 Min). Really good (priced well) restaurants available.

If you are looking for an off-season way to refresh and relax, the Inn at Perry Cabin is an excellent choice. In November? A tough answe. You are right on a waterway to the Chesapeake Bay. Restaurant is really good and $$$$. There are museums. St. Michael's is a quaint town with shops and restaurants. They have SUVs to take you around. If you are brave enough to endure the cold, there are cruise boats to take you around the bay. I can't say for sure that they have them in Nov. If you are really adventurous. Annapolis is not too far. With lots to do and see. Good Luck
There is a bike trail in St. Michael’s. I have bikes to the ferry and back. Roads are quiet off the main road (talbot st.)
Good morning 2SAMS,
Our luxury suites do have soaking tubs and full water view. My suggestion is to call Amanda Kline, our on-property reservation coordinator. She is very well versed in the amenities of all of our rooms and would be very pleased to assist you in finding your perfect room! Amanda can be reached at 443-258-2235.
We look forward to welcoming you to Perry Cabin!
Kindly,
The Crew at Inn at Perry Cabin
Dear Heidicmp,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply as I have been out of the office. I do apologize; however we do not allow kittens on property as our guest rooms are not properly equipped.
Kindly,
