Grand Hotel is frequently celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and prime location near the beach and boardwalk, which guests love for its stunning ocean views and quieter surroundings. The accommodations are heralded for their cleanliness and spaciousness, although there are mentions of the need for modern updates in both decor and amenities. While many travelers commend the hotel's range of dining options and overall value, opinions on the service vary, with some guests experiencing top-notch hospitality and others encountering delays. The soundproofing between rooms occasionally comes up as an area for enhancement.

This was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed at. I will not recommend this place ever to anyone!

Walking up to the hotel, you can tell they haven't painted or done any building maintenance in some time. Then you walk through the doors and are greeted by cracked floor tiles and the rest was downhill from there.

I will say Melissa who was the front desk attendant was very nice and offered us a higher floor (which she said was an "upgrade") at an additional cost of course and it seemed like a good idea...until we walked into this nasty room. The carpet was dirty, the walls were dirty, the curtains were dirty the bedskirt had stains on it, the dresser drawers were hanging on by a thread and not even lined up on the rollers, the bathroom dirty and dank. I was speechless.

I called down and spoke to the supervisor on duty (Tonya - I think) who was also very nice and tried to rectify the situation (I realize they only assign the rooms and it is not their fault that the owner(s) of this rathole don't care enough to maintain it). She gave us keys to check out two different rooms, after looking at both we quickly realized we would have to make a choice of the least dirtiest room.

The housekeeping staff - horrible. I had to find one one day because they hadn't "cleaned" our room and by that I mean make the beds and leave towels because they don't clean the bathroom or vacuum. She was sitting on the bed chilling in someone's room (I hope they had already checked out) and seemed annoyed that I asked her to check her list to verify we were on her list for cleaning.

The pool bar was also disgusting, the bartop hasn't been maintained either let alone the work area behind the bar. The two girls behind the bar clueless and confused. A lot of waste by pouring out miss poured drinks and ignoring customers who already had their drinks but hadn't paid so they decided to walk away with their free drinks.

The only positive was the location which was literally right on the beach. HOWEVER, I would rather hike to the beach than ever stay at this dirt box again. Do not let these reviews confuse your choice. If you like a clean hotel room this is not the place for you. I am just trying to save you time and money. The Fairfield Inn and Suites are across the street from the beach as well as Tru by Hilton a little further down. Don't do it! I could go on but I think you get it.

Thank you for your recent stay and we appreciate your feedback. We're very sorry your visit wasn't up to the excellent standards we are so well known for. Our current policy is we are not doing daily stayover service. We will service your room upon request only. As long as you call the front desk before 2 pm and let them know the times that you will be out of the room our housekeeping staff will be more than happy to service your room completely or as little as you would like. A simple call to the front desk with any items that need replenishing or trash that needs to be removed would send a member of the staff to your room. These precautions are in place for the safety of our guests and our staff.

We stayed at the Grand for 1 night. The hotel is dated but very clean. The room was much more spacious than most beach hotels we have stayed at, we had more than enough room for 2 adults and 3 children. We had an oceanfront room and the view was fantastic! The bathroom is small, it was fine for us but if someone has small children that they need to bathe it might be a little cramped. I actually prefer the extra room space rather than a bigger bathroom.

Our ocean front room had a balcony. I appreciated that the balconies had dividers between them, you could still hear your neighbors talking on their balcony but you couldn't see them.

My kids enjoyed using the indoor pool. The pool area and the pool itself were clean. There was a game room by the pool. It included some crane machines and skill games that you had to pay for, but there was also a life size connect 4 game that you could play for free.

We had never been to Ocean City, Md before. The hotel seems to be pretty far from where most of the boardwalk attractions are, but we enjoyed the walk to that area. There wasn't much open on the boardwalk this time of year (but we were expecting that).

Overall I would recommend this hotel for it's spacious rooms and cleanliness.

This hotel on the boardwalk offers tons of amenities and a great location for a decent price. The outdoor pool and spa are currently closed which is not well advertised, and there are a couple things management could take a look at it to give some TLC to the hotel (i.e. paper signs that say "DO NOT ETNER", misinformation about the number for room service on the parking passes, blue tape closing the sauna) but overall, I had a really positive experience. The housekeeping staff in particular were very kind and always willing to help out, and a 24-hour coffee shop on Thursday and the weekends was a nice amenity to have. The partial balcony view is also stunning.

We were worried about our stay after reading some of the reviews. What we found is that the hotel is indeed in need of updates. However, it's a great location directly on the beach and boardwalk and has several restaurants and stores on the property. There is a free parking garage, pool table, mini arcade, indoor/outdoor pool. The spa is currently closed. There are discounts offered to popular locations like Jolly Roger's amusement park and parasailing. We got 40% off! The hotel does require masks in the lobby/common areas. My biggest complaint is the air conditioning. There doesn't appear to be any in hallways or elevators. Considering how hot and humid it is here, it makes moving around the building slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, it was a good trip.

We are regulars in the off-season at this Ocean City, MD hotel. We love the value price of the 12th floor King Jacuzzi rooms, the ocean view out the sliding door and the appreciative management and staff. Shelley greeted us and accommodated a smooth early check-in. Our two night stay was very enjoyable. The jacuzzi tub is an excellent relaxation tool and there is plenty of hot water. It was appreciated that our special request for a 1pm early check-in was honored even if our requested room of an end unit away from elevator and ice machine was not. One minor issue for maintenance is the bathroom vanity sink needs some Drano (Room 1212).

We stayed here as part of a "girls" weekend for 3 days. We had a partial view room, which had a beautiful view. I don't feel we missed anything by not booking the more expensive "full ocean front" room. The balcony was nice and the room was spacious. Everyone was polite. There was maid service only upon request, and this was due to the pandemic and being short staffed. If we needed anything, it was brought to us immediately, however, I do feel that rooms should be discounted if maid service is not automatic. The real reason i gave the hotel a 4 instead of a 5 is that the bathrooms are very tiny and in need of some upgrading. Also, although the rooms and hotel areas were spotless, the carpeting both in the rooms and hallways was dirty and in need of serious replacement. The hotel is located at the south end of the strip, and is a little far from most attractions. Overall a positive experience.

I have stayed seven or more times here, the only thing I was a little disappointed about was I received an emai in February about early reservation get great deals so I decided to do the six night stay for 35% percent discount but had to wait to see if my son was going to have Boy Scouts camp as my son is on the verge of becoming an Eagle Scout so I had to wait a couple of weeks and found out they were having but the classes he was gone to take were eagle requires merit badge , they would not offer as they changed the format for camp so his troop decided not to go . So when I went on line to make reservation I could not get the 35% discount to take effect so I called to speak with David Douglas on the matter I met David took care of us as we had A/C problems for a couple days and he compensated us for the inconvenience but he was there so I guess I spoke with a lady that I believe is just below him on the management pole and it was all she would do to give me 10% discount, so to be truthful I was to check around for other places , I stayed at a lot of other hotels before grand was even built actually I remember when it was under construction and thought that could be a nice place to stay . I stayed at the Dunes before the nice 10 story one , Castle in the sand , Roadway Inn the first year they were opened , they are under a different name now , my wife liked to go to the board walk a lot so when we were staying at Dunes I was looking at the Hotels on the boardwalk and like the location of of The Flag Ship , but would only stay Ocean front , they have six of those and I got one nice enough place but it’s been there awhile and needs some TLC so we stayed there a couple years and then stayed at the Grand the last 7 or 8 years , but I called back later on and let them know my wife worked for the Department of Labor so we got the 25%off which was okay but not any near what 35% off , 10% is a lot when your talk about 3 grand plus . But hopefully this won’t be the case next year . But it hard to say myself and my wife use to go to the beach during the 4th for the fireworks and when we had our son we started coming in August but last year I wanted our son to see the fireworks on the beach well last year they canceled them the day because of COVID which was a little confusing people were self distancing on the beach and no one was required to wear a mask on the boardwalk ,then the mishap this year , my son doesn’t want to be at OC on the 4th anymore will see 😎

We enjoyed our stay. Check-in and check-out process was efficient. Ocean front room had awesome view of entire beach and roomsize was excellent. Kitchenette was handy with sink and counter. No dishes or silverware were provided in the kitchenette maybe due to Covid-19 precautions. Luckily we had brought paper plates and utensils for cutting fruits and vegetables, making sandwiches, etc. Staff sanitizing elevators and higjt traffic areas was appreciated. Will return soon.

We booked a week here and left after three days. The hotel starts off with broken tiles on the lobby floor and goes downhill from there. The rooms and hallways are dirty and dated. The bathroom is tiny and the fixtures look horrible. They have a central kitchen for the entire complex so the food arrives cold and takes forever. The grand terrace is laughable. Rusty railings and light fixtures holes in the concrete filled with empty planters. We paid 330 per night for a 100 dollar room. The epic bar? Seriously an epic failure. Blacked out windows so you can't see the beach. Dirty and dilapidated furniture. The hotel has posted wonderful pictures now I'll post pictures taken last week. Masks are less effective when worn on your chin.

I agree with Tracy. The staff is super congenial so as long as you’re not bringing in a group of rowdy kids you should be fine. The only way you’d get in trouble is if someone complained.
