Walking up to the hotel, you can tell they haven't painted or done any building maintenance in some time. Then you walk through the doors and are greeted by cracked floor tiles and the rest was downhill from there.
I will say Melissa who was the front desk attendant was very nice and offered us a higher floor (which she said was an "upgrade") at an additional cost of course and it seemed like a good idea...until we walked into this nasty room. The carpet was dirty, the walls were dirty, the curtains were dirty the bedskirt had stains on it, the dresser drawers were hanging on by a thread and not even lined up on the rollers, the bathroom dirty and dank. I was speechless.
I called down and spoke to the supervisor on duty (Tonya - I think) who was also very nice and tried to rectify the situation (I realize they only assign the rooms and it is not their fault that the owner(s) of this rathole don't care enough to maintain it). She gave us keys to check out two different rooms, after looking at both we quickly realized we would have to make a choice of the least dirtiest room.
The housekeeping staff - horrible. I had to find one one day because they hadn't "cleaned" our room and by that I mean make the beds and leave towels because they don't clean the bathroom or vacuum. She was sitting on the bed chilling in someone's room (I hope they had already checked out) and seemed annoyed that I asked her to check her list to verify we were on her list for cleaning.
The pool bar was also disgusting, the bartop hasn't been maintained either let alone the work area behind the bar. The two girls behind the bar clueless and confused. A lot of waste by pouring out miss poured drinks and ignoring customers who already had their drinks but hadn't paid so they decided to walk away with their free drinks.
The only positive was the location which was literally right on the beach. HOWEVER, I would rather hike to the beach than ever stay at this dirt box again. Do not let these reviews confuse your choice. If you like a clean hotel room this is not the place for you. I am just trying to save you time and money. The Fairfield Inn and Suites are across the street from the beach as well as Tru by Hilton a little further down. Don't do it! I could go on but I think you get it.
Our ocean front room had a balcony. I appreciated that the balconies had dividers between them, you could still hear your neighbors talking on their balcony but you couldn't see them.
My kids enjoyed using the indoor pool. The pool area and the pool itself were clean. There was a game room by the pool. It included some crane machines and skill games that you had to pay for, but there was also a life size connect 4 game that you could play for free.
We had never been to Ocean City, Md before. The hotel seems to be pretty far from where most of the boardwalk attractions are, but we enjoyed the walk to that area. There wasn't much open on the boardwalk this time of year (but we were expecting that).
Overall I would recommend this hotel for it's spacious rooms and cleanliness.

"It can be noisy at night on the boardwalk but seemed to quiet down after midnight. "Read full review
"Limited parking directly in front of hotel so finish driving outings early or you will end up in the creepy, dark garage across the street."Read full review
