I would sleep in my car before I stayed in this hotel again. Was charged a super high price ( I have stayed in choice hotels all over the US and have never disappointed with them) but this was a negative star room. It smelled like stale cigarette smoke, so you couldn't leave the heat/ac unit on. The bathroom door was a pocket door that didn't close and the overall condition was just a run down rat hole. After a bad night sleep I couldn't wait to get out of the place.

I generally will not complain about a place but this location I am disgraced by and the staff, mainly the GM that could not even call and handle the situation. It appears he comes in “when he feels like it” according to Happy the late shift front desk person. I was in the area and was tired and decided it would be best to stay the night. I found this hotel and from the parking lot went into booking.com and made a reservation for that night which was the 28th of September. I went in and Happy the front desk person said my reservation was not until the following day, I explained to him I just booked this and I definitely chose Sunday the 28th and not Monday the 29th. I said ok, obviously there was an error can you just do tonight instead of it’s more I’ll be happy to pay. He said call booking.com and they can change it since it was a no cancellation reservation. I immediately called them and they called the hotel and Happy said “i can’t authorize it”. I go back in the hotel and Happy tells me I can make a new reservation for that night and tomorrow the GM will take care of the error. The following morning I went down and the GM OR ANY ‘manager was not present but happy assured me again the GM will handle this. I called multiple that day and the GM was never there and all I got was we can’t refund you go through booking.com. Once again I called booking.com right after I called the hotel and booking contacted the hotel and magically the GM said we will not refund it. I paid for two nights and stayed one. This is a disgrace. I have contacted corporate and they are trying to resolve this.

Very old and dilapidated. Nobody at the front desk, carpets are dirty. Box’s piled in lobby area. Rooms are very small. I had to fix the screen and secure the window myself, where the room was broken into previously. Worst hotel I’ve been too in years. I wish I bought a tent to stay in instead of this dump. Run away from here quick.

Response from Andy Patel, Owner at Quality Inn

We cannot imagine you stayed at our property and can only assume this review is posted to the wrong hotel. We are not an old dilapidated property. We have a 24/7 front desk, and they only leave to assist a guest, and return as quickly as possible. Our lobby is bright and inviting. The only time boxes are in our lobby is during a delivery, and they are quickly relocated to their proper area. Our rooms are a standard size. We have not had any breakins or problems with our windows and screens. If there were any issues with a screen our 24/7 front desk would address it. Most guests love our clean comfortable rooms and friendly customer service. We are sorry wherever you stayed that it did not meet your expectations.

For the last three years I have stayed here when I visit family at the Marina but this time it was horrible. New owners and room defectiveness made the stay upsetting. I booked a king but somehow Booking changed it to king/queen so I called to verify and the man at front desk told me what I was booked for but would change as the price is the same. But when I arrived the female owner wanted to charge more. This was so upsetting so it started off wrong. Then the next morning the door would not close so they had to relocate me to another room which the air conditioner took six hours to cool down the room. It used to be a great place no more. Plus they wanted $100.00 cash deposit even though I reserved with credit card??

Underwhelming property. Room was clean, but VERY small. Bed and pillows of average comfort. Property was too close to a major highway and noise level constant. Staff was not helpful. Breakfast area poorly laid out and too small - only three tables. Would not stay here again.

Over the years, Ben has developed the idea that one can learn what a guy or company is made of when a little bump in the road comes along better and faster than years of perfect performance. When Ben and Mrs Too decided to spend a night in Kent Narrows, an area packed with the very best seafood houses in a rural community on the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay, he booked at this Quality Inn. When he printed his confirmation, it plainly stated, right from the top, “NO ELEVATOR”. Oh, my!. We are both in our eighties, and poor Ben is not quite over his fractured femur. A call to the hotel, and a brief explanation of our problem brought out the best in the lady at the desk. In short order, she had cancelled the existing booking and replaced it with one, in her words, guaranteeing a room on the first floor. All of that despite the fact that the reservation was non-cancellable. Now how about that for customer service? We were checked in a little early, and found a perfectly acceptable room in a spic and span building with all of the in room amenities and accouterments one expects in today’s market. We went out for a nice dinner and came back ready for a good night’s sleep, which is exactly what we got. The hotel is less than a block off of US Route 50, and carries considerable intercity trucking, but we never heard a sound until morning. Except for the fact that we can never seem to get used to these big puffy pillows now so prevalent, we could not have asked for more. Breakfast was buffet style, with waffles, pastry, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit. All in all, everything one can expect from a drive-by hotel.

We were in Grasonville for a Memorial Service and enjoyed the very comfortable beds and friendly service at the Quality Inn. It was very accessible and the outlet shopping and nearby seafood restaurants were very good.

My family and I stayed here recently to attend a wedding. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms seem to have been recently remodeled. The shower door was a little weird as it pushed in instead of pulled out. There wasn’t a lot of room to maneuver in there. Continental breakfast was complimentary and the usual. There weren’t a lot of places to sit. This is an older property, but it was in good shape. The staff were friendly. There was a small outside pool that was still open in late September.

Our room smelled horrible, very moldy and damp. The rooms are very small and extremely over priced for the size. I complained that the bottom of my bed looked like it had been thrown up on and just wiped but nothing was done about it. I am going to disinfect all of our belongings when I get home. The hotel is very poorly maintained. Pool area was very dirty ,chairs look like they have never been cleaned. My daughter cut her foot on something in the pool. Please don't call that breakfast, they serve microwaved egg mix and terrible looking instant breakfast sausage. I asked for a boiled or fried egg and was advised that they do not buy fresh eggs at all. The breakfast area is also very dirty. The young housekeeper that was working on Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st was the most pleasant part of our experience. She was very friendly as were the front desk staff. The hotel is nasty but they have great staff. I will never stay here again..... and definitely regret spending $500 for 2 nights!

"Disappointed" does not reflect the condition of the hotel, or the amenities nor the staff. I am disappointed in the hotel manager. On Oct 12 my Lincoln Navigator was damaged by several roof shingles that came loose from the hotel. I filed a accident report with the acting manager at the time. Who confirmed the damage along with the maintenance supervisor. I felt really good with the customer service that I received at the time. It is now November 24th and the hotel has yet to contact me or their insurance company. I have inquired numerous times. Sometimes twice a week. With the same response. The manager just stepped out. Or they will call you back as soon as possible. Which they never have. I have contacted Choice Hotels customer relations department. I have filed a complaint generating a paper trail. I have been a Choice Rewards member for over 20 years. Have stayed at this hotel several times. But now I'm disappointed in Choice Hotels and in their franchise Sleep Inn.
