When we made reservations at the Trail Inn, we were told it included a breakfast. When we arrived, our room had a strong mildew smell. The person in charge assured us it was a deodorizer and suggested we open the door and windows. The smell never went away. Upon returning that evening after having dinner in town, we were surprised...

I stayed at the Trailside on my bike trip from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh, PA. The private room I stayed in was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed. They also have a laundry which was important for me as I really need to wash my biking clothes. They do have a place to lock your bike. They do not...

My girlfriend and I made the entire trek from Pittsburgh to DC this past summer and knew that the Trail Inn was a favorite along the GAP. From the planning phase of our trip we knew we'd stay here. I called to make a reservation and the owner, John, picked up the phone. I got a real sense of hospitality...

My husband and young son and I stopped here to eat during our layover with the train station. The employees were nothing, but rude from the time the first handful of customers started entering. Their short and snippy attitudes did nothing for everyone else's moods. In our order we had a bowl of soup and a side of fries. Our...

We stayed here on July 2, 2013 and were told breakfast would be at 8:30 AM. We delayed out departure time so we could eat. As of 9:30 the cook had not arrived and we had to leave. The owner said he would reimburse us $10 for our two breakfasts – guess we didn’t miss much!! We have yet to...

Our group had sandwiches at the cafe during the turn-around time for the train. You order at the counter then the food is delivered to the table. The food was good and service was prompt and courteous. The dining area is plain with some interesting historical pictures on the wall.

This is a nice place to stay. The room was clean. It is not your typical hotel. We stayed 3 nights and they do not have house keeping during the time you are there. However I do think if you request it they will do it. There is no front desk. You have to call a number to get checked...

Rode the Western Maryland Scenic Train up from Cumberland and ate lunch here. The chicken sandwich was really tasty; all white meat breast. Good food and very friendly people. Great view. The fried chicken looked really good, but I was going on a bike ride and didn’t want to overdo it. Outside is a little shack that also takes orders...

Kind of a funky place with college kids working but we enjoyed our time here very much. Paid about $75 a night for three nights in September. Smallish rooms, an invigorating walk up the hill to downtown, which was very enjoyable. The trail is excellent both directions. I would stay here again and explore Cumberland and the area a bit...

At the lunch break during the turnaround for the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad day trip, we were surprised to find that there were five stories of steps between us and the city of Frostburg. (should have read the Trip Advisor reviews!). Luckily, the Trail Inn Cafe right across from the station provided a nice lunch and a perfect view of...
