While traveling back to the DC area after a weekend in MI, my husband and I opted for the more scenic route along I68 looking for fall colors. Cumberland and the Bruce House Inn caught my interest because we cycle, and the Inn is right along the GAP Trail and the C&O Canal path. We wanted to check it out...

My friend and I reserved a room at the Bruce House as we cycled along the Great Allegheny Passage and the C and O bike trail. Sadly, a few short miles from Cumberland, we crashed our bikes. I called my husband in California and he contacted Shay at the Bruce House. When we finally stumbled to the Inn, she was...

Check-in was quick and easy and Pam, the innkeeper greeted us and showed us to our room. We had been a little apprehensive because we booked the last room available, a suite on the first floor. But we couldn't have asked for more. Pam informed us that it had been the library and the high oak-covered walls were beautiful. The...

Bruce House Inn was quaint little house with comfortable bed and awesome breakfast. Not much to do in Cumberland but if you like Victorian architecture, this is the place to go. Walking tour is nice as the town is very quiet. We did miss the train tour (only offered once during the day) so we'll probably return to try that...

Fifth night on the trail and we were very happy with our choice. From the time we registered through departure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the third floor which gave us a great view of the city. Breakfast was tasty and gave us the needed energy to get to hancock

I have been to the Bruce House Inn probably five times over a seven year period and it never fails to be a wonderful place to stay. Pam has been an excellent hostess every time. The breakfasts are delicious, she knows the area very well and she lives next door if you need anything at all. Cumberland is a pretty...

Stayed at The Bruce House Inn, while traveling from home to MI. With family history in Cumberland, MD, this was a perfect spot from which to explore this sweet mountain town. Lovely walk into the main shops/restaurant area and the view from the neighborhood is fantastic. Wonderful, friendly innkeeper who keeps a tidy house and provided a delicious breakfast. Will...

We were met by the inn keeper (Pam) at the door and shown to our room. The house was tastefully decorated and very clean. We booked the Monks Room which was very comfortable. It was also nice and cool for being a 3rd floor room ringed with windows in August. Breakfast was amazing and the service from Shay was excellent....

We stayed here on our 3rd night biking from Pittsburgh to DC. The inn is located on top of a hill but the ride uphill was totally worth the stay. The house sits atop a charming neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Sit outside and chat with folks walking their dogs. It was wonderful. The room we had was on the 3rd...

We stayed at Bruce House Inn last week while my husband rode the GAP and C&O canal. The Inn is historic yet modernized where it counts. Our Monk's room was a large one on the 3rd floor with a spacious bathroom and lots of windows. Only drawback was that it was warm for sleeping despite the window a/c, probably because...
