We stayed four glorious nights at the Stage Neck Inn! It was just before Memorial Day and the weather couldn’t have been better. Check in and out was a breeze and handled professionally.

Our oceanfront room had spectacular views which we so enjoyed after many months of Covid lockdown. Our room was in pristine condition and each day housekeeping did a phenomenal job making sure all our needs were met.

We enjoyed a buffet breakfast each morning and dinner most nights at Shearwater restaurant. Meals could be enjoyed either indoors or out.

We made sure to visit our favorite Maine “haunts” while there and took great pleasure in walking the beach daily. We had so much fun at the Stage Neck Inn that we’ve book a 5 night stay in August.

This was our first time away since the pandemic and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! The warm welcome we received and the care and concern shown by all staff members made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived.

The Stage Neck Inn has our highest recommendation!

Thank you for the great rating and for taking the time to write such a lovely review to be shared with other TripAdvisor participants. Our staff works diligently cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the Inn to ensure the safety of our guests and employees and I'm glad you felt comfortable during your stay. I'm pleased you enjoyed your experience in both of our dining venues; Shearwater restaurant and outdoor dining at Gallows Point and will certainly pass this along to our SNI Team! It's certainly a pleasure welcoming our Stage Neck Inn family of guests back after such an unprecedented year. We look forward to seeing you again in the very near future. Location: The Stage Neck Inn is in the perfect location! Nothing beats the Maine coast and the inn is situated intimately on York Harbor Beach. The ocean is a stone’s throw away and boasts the most stunning views.

Rooms: We were fortunate enough to get a room facing the water. My husband and I enjoyed some quiet time on the porch and watched the boats go by. It was so relaxing. The room was extremely clean and well appointed. We even had chocolate on our pillows. What a sweet touch!

Staff: Every person we came in contact with was extremely kind and professional. We had two meals at the inn and went to the pool as well. The staff was accommodating, kind, and helpful! Check in was a breeze.

Dining: We ate at Shearwater for dinner and breakfast. Both meals were delicious and we sat outside by the water. The summer salad was so tasty and the blueberry shortcake was divine!

COVID: The inn took due care to protect guests during the pandemic. The room was clean and the staff all wore masks. There were plentiful amounts of hand sanitizer available to guests. I appreciated their attention to detail and safety precautions.

This a must to visit! We will be back hopefully soon.

I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the lobby, restaurant and resort was. The pictures online do not do it justice! The owner really needs to do a better job on the website with more pictures of the rooms and common areas! Great but expensive restaurant onsite, amazing breakfast- waffle making station, delicious eggs benedict, smoothies, yogurt, breads, pancakes, bacon etc.. very nice buffet. Usually cost about $27 pp if not staying on property. The beach was nice too, it did have seaweed closer to the inn but it was still nice. Water is clear and calm but cold in July. I believe it gets warmer in Aug- Sept. I do think they need to fix the parking as when they allow folks to park for lunch and dinner, there can be limited parking for guests. More spaces are needed. The outside pool area bar/ cafe is great as you can spend the day at the beach then go there for lunch to eat and swim some more. I would highly recommend a stay here, some rooms are remodeled, ours was not but it was still very nice and clean! 4.5 stars

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Stage Neck Inn with other TripAdvisor participants. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay and will pass along your comments to the Management team to share with the SNI staff. Our Website is being revised so please visit it in the very near future to see the updates. Our Executive Chef was pleased to see your comments about our Breakfast Buffet. This is certainly one of the highlights of our guests stay as we get many comments. Our guests, like you, enjoy the ease of going back and forth from the pool to the ocean and enjoying a leisurely lunch at the pool. And, yes, parking can be a bit tight at times and we do try to have our staff park off site and shuttle them back and forth to the Inn. This is something we take very seriously and are looking for options. Again, thanks for the wonderful comments and I hope we see you back at Stage Neck Inn very soon. This stay was not like any of our past visits. While the hotel is as beautiful as ever, it did not meet our expectations this time. The food here was HORRIBLE! The breakfast buffet (which is included in the room charge) was inedible both mornings of our stay. I would have preferred to order and pay for a meal that was made to order than eat food that was sitting out for hours and hours. When we went to dinner the first night we were there, we never ordered a meal because we had trouble getting past the quality of the appetizers.

On a more positive note, in regards to COVID, we did feel that our room was “safe”. After we entered the room, no hotel employees were allowed in. We had to make our own bed and the new towels were left outside the door, but that was fine with us.

Overall, we were greatly disappointed. We were attempting to celebrate another wedding anniversary here (this was the third time we celebrated at this location) but this visit left us wanting.

Four Nights at the SNI was like being in Paradise. From the moment you check in you feel welcome and offered the very best service. Their entire staff is overly friendly so, unlike other hotels you can see why they are fully staffed.
The rooms are worth every penny. Modern luxurious bathrooms with all the amenities including plush robes, a good sized TV, a large king sized room with plenty of space and new looking furniture impressed us. Turning on the Faux fireplace was new to us yet made the wine taste even better. Fortunate enough to book an oceanfront room on the top floor, our views were wonderful morning and night while so relaxing.
Each night the maids check the room for any towel needs, deliver small bottles of water and a snack treat.
The hotel's outdoor pool is huge with plenty of seating, huge towels and both food and drink service.
The full breakfasts each morning was gourmet quality as was the very attentive service of our waiter Scott.
Dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Shearwater should not be missed.

We had rooms 128 and 129 for four nights in August. Both rooms were perfect and well maintained. Thank you to Tracey in Housekeeping for taking such great care of us! She is awesome!

It was happy to see the ladies up front Dawn, Brenda and Donna!
Ruth always remembers us with a smile which we appreciate.
We met Darien at breakfast for the first time and he was awesome!
It was great to see Scott too!

The temperature check at check in made me feel safe and everyone was wearing masks all over the property.

It was so nice to relax in the sun and just enjoy the beautiful views.

We love the SNI tee, soap and SNI Christmas ornament from the gift shop!

The only thing that we found different this August was the parking. The restaurant was busy (a good sign of course!) so that when we returned from dinner every night there were no close parking spaces for hotel guests. (two of my group have canes but no handicap placards) Parking permit for hotel guests only or valet in august might be a solution. (but not a cost effective one I understand) We never noticed this in past years or in June/October.

Thank you for a wonderful/relaxing stay!
Please stay well !

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I'll certainly pass this on to the Management Staff to share with their employees. The protocol has certainly changed and as you noticed we are working diligently to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees. I'm sorry that you experienced parking issues and I thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll bring your suggestions up at the next Managers Meeting, however, as you indicated it would be an added expense and, at this time, may not be possible. However, please know that we want to make our guests as comfortable as possible so they can fully enjoy their stay with us and, at any time, please feel free to stop at the Front Desk and one of our Staff will drive you to the pool parking area(s) in one of our company vehicles or our golf carts. The Inn is located on a peninsula along Maine's rocky coast. So our ocean-view room overlooked the Atlantic.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The king bed was very comfortable, especially with its soft pillows. The bathroom was large, with plenty of counter space and the shower had good water pressure.

We were there on a cold winter day so did not get to use the spacious and private balcony, but even with the glass doors closed, we could hear the soothing sound of the crashing waves.

The breakfast buffet had everything and their special eggs benedict are particularly tasty. Fresh orange juice and good coffee added to our enjoyment. The staff was courteous, friendly, and efficient.

But, I cannot understand how a classy hotel and restaurant does not prohibit hats on men. I was always taught that a gentleman removes his hat when entering a building and certainly never wears one while eating a meal. I think you should have a no-hat policy, and enforce it.

My husband and I stayed three nights at the Stage Neck Inn for a mini babymoon and had a wonderful time. Our room had a view overlooking the ocean and outdoor dining area, and the pool and beach were just a short walk away. We were able to snag chairs at the pool that had a view overlooking the ocean, which was perfect. Shade in the pool area is very limited, so I would recommend bringing a chair umbrella if that's important to you. As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet is really well done with lots of options, fresh fruit, and mini smoothies. We dined onsite for lunch the day of our arrival, and the food was delicious. There are also lots of nearby dining options in Portsmouth and Portland that were well worth the drive.

Our first trip to York, Maine, and we are so glad that we choose the Stage Neck Inn. Perfect location! My daughter loves to play and swim at the beach, I love an outdoor pool with a view, and my husband loves to watch the fishing boats...The resort is impeccably decorated and the staff extremely helpful and gracious. The restaurant wonderful- beautiful inside- views from every table, ans soft music!! (I adore a restaurant that plays music- adds so much to the ambiance.) Just the most lovely place...we cannot wait to come back. And we will. My new happy place!! Thank you Stage Neck Inn, in a year of disappointments, you are a ray of sunshine.

Had lunch at SNI recently. Ordered the "Jumbo Lobster Roll" at the whopping price of $44 after our waitress said it is really great ... so I was expecting to be wowed. It was far from "jumbo", lacked flavor, and the "buttered brioche roll" was a lazy grilled hot dog roll. So disappointing and such a waste of $$. That aside, and although not on SNI's summer menu, their French Onion Soup made with veal stock is the absolute best!
