Detailed Reviews
With an exceptional location, directly across the road from Long Sands beach, the possibilities were high. Even mediocre would be fine with this superb location and decent price, but repeatedly we found ourselves saying “this would be so easy to address/fix/do better/simply acknowledge” and we were repeatedly met with unusual or sometimes no resolution.
The room looked nice, and seemed clean.
We’d read that there seems to be an issue with lack of staff at the front desk, so when we attempted to check in we weren’t surprised to be waiting in line at the office behind another woman trying to check in, for 10 minutes. The phone was ringing off the hook. We finally picked up the phone, saying that no one was available and asked them to call back. By now a third party joined the queue, who then incorrectly guessed that we worked there.
A laptop with all of our names and assigned rooms was open and visible. A nice worked finally returned drenched in sweat and clearly harried. But still polite and attentive.
To be clear, the staff working were trying their best, and working hard. There seemed to inadequate management, inadequate organization and inadequate staffing.
When I asked if there were any paper cups, the worker said he’d look and a short while after said he found some plastic cups in the basement, and handed me a wash cloth and dish soap, letting me know he wasn’t sure they’d been washed recently. The tv just didn’t work at all, then a worker got it to go on, but every 10 minutes it went off and back on. When this was addressed to the office, we simply got a shrug, along with a response that many guests were also complaining of this. The pool didn’t seem to have a filter pump working and the water was quite cloudy.
The top two hallways in the middle building are carpeted and very dirty. They likely need to be replaced, but even just vacuuming would help. I was happy to see a staff person holding towels and I asked for one, though he seemed dismayed at this question, which somehow seemed to pose a dilemma as he was professional and courteously obliged but I sensed that somehow there would be no other clean towels for the rest of the afternoon and evening in the entire establishment.
The owners are currently updating rooms, as construction workers were currently there working.
Also, their sister property is the Surf Club, which seemed to have better staffing.

We stayed in one of the cabins, the one with 3 bedrooms and 4 beds, I think #26. The cabin had two rooms with queen beds and a room with twin bunkbeds. There was a full kitchen (full fridge, microwave, stove, double sink, and coffee maker) as well as some utensils, plates, cups, and basic cooking gear like potholders, a frying pan, spaghetti pot, colander, sauce pan and lid, baking sheet, ice cube trays, etc. The tv was on the kitchen table, which had 3 chairs around it, and there was a couch opposite the table. There was also a small, screened-in porch with a small table and two chairs on it. The bathroom was very small but had a shower, toilet, and sink. The two bedrooms with queen beds had a closet and a 3-drawer bureau. The bunkbed room had drawers built into the lower bunk. The bathroom came with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and extra toilet paper. Our cabin was in the very back of the parking lot, but we could easily walk to the ocean right across the street and lug all our gear there. The beach was described by others as "rocky" but the area right across from the hotel only has rocks near the road serving as a retaining wall to prevent erosion. They're intentional. Walk toward the water and the beach is sandy, except maybe at very high tide. There were often lots of surfers in the water, which was entertaining. The owner/manager was helpful in answering any questions, getting the wifi and tv working, and showing us where the ice was (it's a cooler outside the office). There were definitely a lot of other families staying there and it felt like a nice summer vacation spot that was significantly less costly than other places on this beach. While the cabins aren't as modern as the rooms in the renovated buildings, they were more to my liking because my teenagers want to have their space and I'm told I snore when we share a one-room hotel room. Having those extra bedrooms made it quieter for all of us at night!

The hotel website has not been updated in a year as it list inaccurate information. Breakfast vouchers, as advertised on their website, do not exist anymore.
Hotel is average, we found a large women’s hair clip left in our room, it would of been hard to miss if they actually did a thorough job cleaning. Some wear and tear in buildings in general. Room was adequate and had everything we needed. Old owners, Peg and Bob, would always be about to greet you or wave hello. New owners hide in their office and leave staff to handle everything. (Witnessed this myself.) I guess I’m used to a family-run business and now it is not one. That’s not bad, it’s just not for me.

After driving up 2X to book a July 4th week long vacation (we couldn't reach anyone via email or phone). We have stayed there several times in the past, just the summer before we were in the Owner's Suite and had a wonderful time and couldn't wait to do it again. We were told the Owner's Suite was not available for the time period so we agreed to settle on a cottage, we arrived so very excited. First, the woman at the front desk called me shortly after I left the office, paying cash for our stay, to say that she gave me back too much money. I went right back and gave her the money she said she over paid me, I didn't count the money she gave back to me, but whatever, I am on vacation right? Anyway, one of the keys didn't fit our door, so we were down to just 1 key, the door didn't really lock properly anyway, kept our valuables in the car, no biggie. We don't find out until the next morning that we don't have hot water, and the toilet shoots water out the side of it when you flush. I did report it and staff came into check it out. They believed we were on the end of the hot water line and were just not getting any. They asked each day "any hot water", each day told them no. We were not given a room to take a shower in until Tuesday (we arrived on Saturday). Please note the poor staff had to deal with everything, management hid the entire time. I caught management in the office 1 morning, she seriously she yelled at me that I was going to get a refund. She was not happy as the woman in front of me (yes there was a line), who had 2 small children, had no hot water either and had been there just as long as we had without any word from management had just told her exactly what she thought about the horrible accommodations. Needless to say we only stayed as long as we had to, we had invited company up, and left as soon as our company left. Management still refuses to return any phone calls or emails. I did get a letter saying I would get so much money off my next stay but that money cannot be used toward the deposit. I have called and emailed several times since receiving that letter reminding them I was told I would receive a refund, they just hide behind the poor staff again and have them take the brunt of everyone's anger. So as of now I have "credit" at a place I DO NOT WANT TO STAY AT AGAIN! Mind you the staff is fantastic, but management is horrific and they do not care at all.

The room was beautifully decorated, fresh paint, newly tiled shower and bathroom. The bedding was soft and clean, the beds were comfy, the kitchenette had a fridge, dishes and silverware for use. The balcony with peekaboo views of the ocean and pet friendly accommodations made it a fantastic place to stay. In addition to all that, the quick walk across the street to long sands beach made it easy to soak up the sun with the family. The new owners have really stepped it up.

Not impressed with this property AT ALL!
Advertised an ocean view with a private balcony. Paid over $300 for one night. Only way to see the ocean from our room (305) was to hang over the railing and squint. If you did want to see the ocean, you could walk to the end of the hall where there was a SHARED balcony overlooking the water. View from there was nice, if you don't mind sitting next to strangers to look at it.
Room was clean. Period. Not one picture on the wall, nothing to make it appealing in any way.
Said it was a "brand new building," but all the carpets were stained. Stains on the ceiling. Bad smell in elevator.
Door was kept open with a big rock, which made me feel very unsafe, as anyone could walk in without a room key.
Front desk staff was nice. Provided me with a couple of restaurant suggestions, but both were closed by 8:30 at night on a Friday! Had to drive to get any food.
Our idea of vacation is park and then never use the car again until we leave, so not ideal.
We will NOT be coming back here.

Facility is nice but that’s where it ends.
Dirty towels not removed or replaced. Toilet paper not replenished.Garbage not emptied. Coffee not replenished.
Room never cleaned, vacuumed or bed made.
1 ice machine on the entire 3- story main building and it’s broken
You literally have to ask for EVERYTHING a normal property provides or (as we did) get it yourself.
Never again.

Our experience wasn't great but it appears they are trying to spruce it up. The staff was generally accommodating but it seems they were busy trying to make up for the site's issues. The room was small. really small. Though it had a stove (2 burner) fridge and sink, there was no table and no chairs to sit and eat. No chairs, only the bed!. See the picture for the, though impressive in it's efficiency, micro-kitchen. We did ask for something to sit on and they brought us a folding chair and table. The location was perfect for the area, though, right across the street from the large clean beach. The sound of the waves constantly. Issues continued; the pool was closed for servicing, the door didn't close well... our experience wasn't as bad as our neighbors who were moved 5 times trying to get a room that was clean and had amenities that worked. Don't let them tell you all rooms are the same; we saw next door and they all had tables and chairs and were much larger for the same price. Again, It looked like they were investing in renovation so this might be a really good spot in 2023.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the SeaLatch, even though the place was in the midst of a renovation. We were not affected by this. We reserved a standard room (two queen beds) on the third floor. The room was immaculate. It had a private balcony. The room boasted a “butler’s pantry” which meant it had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, a few dishes and utensils and an additional sink. Since we had a few groceries with us (that we were taking up to a beach house we rented farther North the next day), the pantry came in quite handy. On the morning of check out, we grabbed breakfast from a local cafe, brought it back to the Sea Latch and enjoyed eating it on the shared balcony —with a breathtaking view of ocean! We had a wonderful experience, all in all.

Nice, large hotel room in a great location. Bed was very comfortable and we liked the little kitchen area. We would recommend a few things though: paper towels in the kitchen area, a shower curtain rather than just a shower liner and regular tv and not Roku. We couldn’t get the tv to work.
