Most horrible experience I’ve had in years. How they treat late arrivals: I called ahead the day before my check-in date as we would be arriving quite late and was advised to call the next day and that they would make arrangements to leave a key for me. I called the next day and no one would answer the phone (called 12 times) so I left a message and no one ever called me back to make arrangements to leave a key. I then called Choice Hotels and spoke with someone in their Reservations department as that was the only line that would answer and she could not reach anyone at the hotel either. So we arrived at the “inn” hoping that we would have a room and found an envelope taped to the front door with my name on it with the key inside. The room: This is not an inn, it’s a motel. Our room had an outside entrance with parking right outside our door. When we opened the door there were wet towels coming out of the mini-frig onto the bathroom floor. We found an ice pack that was left in the frig that was making this watery mess. Couldn’t sleep due to hearing a banging sound all night. When leaving realized it was a gutter banging into the building! The cost: I booked a rate of $104 and they charged me $119. The General Manager Heather: Worst customer service ever. She outright lied about asking us to call the next day to make arrangements to leave a key and was defensive and don’t apologize once for the stress that it caused us not knowing if we had a room or not or for the watery disaster that we walked into. Heather - an apology costs you nothing. Do not stay here!!

The view from the balcony rooms is amazing but the rooms have a strange layout. There is only a patio door to enter and the deck is shared and not very private. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but we ended up only staying one night instead of two because we just weren’t that impressed.

I made reservations for 4 of us, all 80 years of age. Our assigned rooms were far in the back, up a long flight of stairs, all accessible only by this means. 3 of us were unable to handle the luggage, so we requested another set of rooms. I should add that these rooms did not have any charm that would make you want to schlepp. The desk clerk did manage to find us another set of rooms. That was the good part. One of the rooms was so heavily scented that we upended all of the windows and the front door for an hour to air it. When that didn’t work, we turned on the fan, left the windows open, and then went grocery shopping for 1 1/2 hours- all to no avail. Two of us were literally unable to breathe in the room, one because of her asthma and the other because of a sinus problem. When I went to the manager the next day to complain, she explained that they were using strong cleaning products because of COVID. How does scent effect efficacy? She refunded $20-of a nightly charge of $173.00- more of an insult than a reparation Finally, my email of the reservation consistently stated, “ breakfast included.” The same smarmy manager informed me-ever cheerful- that they were not going to serve breakfast any more, that they had this policy since last April I should add that the only free item in this lodging was a bottle of some liquid marked “Stress Relief.” Now I know why And my socks turned brown after walking in them on that super-COVID- cleaned carpet

This is a nice [ace to stay located between Ogunquit and Wells. The views of the marsh and river are great - although I don't think all the rooms have great views. Try to get one of the King Rooms all the way at the left end of the property {if you are looking at he hotel from the front) The ones with the decks are great, The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The lawn area by the water was nicely maintained. The pool area was clean and was h=great to cool off on a hot day

Fortunately, we only stayed here one night. We arrived after dark and in the rain, and were assigned #330 for our 3rd floor double Queen bay view room. We had changed our reservation from using points at their request via text to paying via credit card for a slightly better rate. In the morning, we discovered that we had probably the worst view in the entire resort between two high brick walls with a little river showing between. When we complained when we checked out, we were given a manager’s card. No response yet to calls and a text. The hotel had about five cars in the parking lot, so there were definitely other rooms we could have been given. Very unnecessary alienation of customers. The breakfast offered was a packaged piece of pound cake:( I can understand why others would be happy with the place, as it seemed that every other room had a nice view. Sadly, not our experience…
