This is a very nice hotel. Although the front of the property isn't overly appealing, it truly is a beautiful property. The front lobby and dining area is beautiful, warm, and inviting. The rooms are nicely updated, spacious, and clean. We stayed on the bottom floor in a room that was on ground level, looking out to the lawn area and river. There is very comfortable seating on the lawn to relax on while enjoying the beautiful sights of the river. As many reviews mention, there are somewhat steep stairs and a bit of a steep sidewalk that you will have to go up and down if you are on the ground floor. If you are older or have bad knees, this will be a problem, and you should clarify with hotel that you require a room to avoid these stairs. The breakfast was $18 per person (they offered us a buy one get one free while we were there) and I would classify it as an upscale continental breakfast. If you've ever stayed at a Holiday Inn and had their breakfast (for free) - this was comparable to that. Pre-made omelets, sausage patties, bacon (I think was microwaved), waffle maker, pre-packaged muffins, bagels, and cereal. It was fine, but I was expecting better. Although the pool was open and I'm sure it was heated, we didn't go because it was too cold to even consider... but it looks like a beautiful pool. All in all, this is a wonderful property and definitely worthy of a solid 4.5 star review. We'll be back.

We stayed the very first weekend it opened for the 2023 season and found it on Booking, and boy I’m glad we did! We had requested a high floor and not only we got the higher floor but what an amazing view. I can imagine every room has to have beautiful views. We didn’t get to explore the whole property but saw a very nice and quaint lobby area where they also offer breakfast in the am and they have coffee and water upon arrival. We had room 248 and it was beautiful. The entrance faces the river and it has a sliding door with screen that you can leave open and the shared terrace. This is a full long deck with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the amazing views (sun rises on this end) by your entrance. Very nicely decorated, simple and it basically has everything you need, I would of definitely add a microwave. The bed was sooo comfortable, as well as the pillows! Enough towels, hangers and luggage rest, loved the soap but the shower head doesn’t use all the holes so amount of water coming out it’s minimal but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a nice shower and our stay. Hands down a place to return, and it’s so close to everything but far away from the crowds.

The Inn is close to Ogunquit, Kennebunkport and Moody Beach as well as many good restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean and offer relaxing views of the salt march, Wells Beach and the Ocean depending on the location of the room. The staff was friendly and offered to help us with our luggage. We have been staying at this location since the early 1990s and it has never failed to meet our expectations.
P.S. It has been remodeled and updated several times over the years.

We stayed at the Ogunquit River Inn and Suites recently, and our experience was nothing short of appalling. Upon arrival, we found blood on both beds in my room, which is a serious health hazard. I tried calling the after-hours phone number provided by the hotel, but no one answered. This meant the issue was not resolved until the next day.

When housekeeping finally came in, they failed to replace our dirty hand towels and facecloths. They had a vacuum with them but did not use it, as evidenced by the popcorn particles still on the floor. The room was excessively humid, making everything feel damp, and the AC filters appeared to have never been cleaned.

The internet that they say is free and provided is spotty at best, definitely not helpful for folks that work remote.

The hotel offered a $70 credit for the blood on the beds, which is completely unacceptable given the significant health risk posed by this issue. This stay was incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was amazingly clean and quiet. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful, cleaning staff were friendly, polite and attentive to our needs since we opted to not have them clean the room the third day we were there (we generated a lot of trash since we ordered take out instead of dining in at the local restaurants). The outdoor swimming pool was crystal clear the 5 days were stayed even when it was heavily used. We would absolutely stay again. Just a reminder...the upper level rooms are stair access only!! Plan accordingly, heavy luggage has to be lugged up the staircase(s).

Loved everything about our stay. We were greeted with an ice cold beverage at the front desk. Everyone was so courteous. The room was spotless…comfy bed…loved the amenities..slippers, shampoo, etc…even cotton swabs and make up sponges. Our view was beautiful. And a wonderful breakfast at a very reasonable price. Complimentary coffee, tea and a cold beverage offered in lobby.

We had a wonderful experience at this property during COVID! We chose it because it was a little off the beaten path and it had a very high cleanliness rating. The hotel is centrally located, and it's a two minute drive to Footbridge Beach. It's away from the heavily congested area of Ogunquit. The hotel room was clean, bright and spacious. Our large family stayed in two rooms with a balcony in building one. The balcony was semi-private, as three rooms shared it. We were very distanced from the other family. The rooms had spectacular views! The hotel has a pool. They offer a grab & go continental breakfast with prepackaged items. The beds were comfy and the very large tv had many channels. Anything we requested such as toilet paper and soap was provided immediately. The sliding glass door handle was broken in our room. I reported it before we left for the day. They fixed it immediately and sprayed disinfectant in the room upon exiting. I would stay at this hotel again!

I have two very minor complaints. The hotel advertises a hot tub, but it was been removed. It's still listed on the property maps that are provided upon arrival. I called the hotel directly to ask questions about the COVID response and I ended up booking the hotel during the call but I was not given the best rate available. Additionally, they gave me two reservation numbers for two rooms. I had to call the 800 number to get the best rate available and then I had to cancel my original two reservations. It was extremely inconvenient.

Beware! Disgusting bathroom that flooded due to clogged drains was tipping point for this overpriced cheaply renovated motel.
1. Description/pics are extremely misleading. A ‘third floor’ room is in fact at entry level adjacent to parking, with no view, just a high window that won’t open. So to enjoy the rear of property you have to walk around and sit on the grass in front of other guest’s decks/balconies as if you didn’t actually pay to stay there.
2. After booking on Expedia, etc you will start receiving unsolicited texts from staff pressuring you to cancel and rebook direct for the ‘best room’. When they are unable to send you an exact invoice for new room rate, you are told to call the hotel. When you do, you are told there are now 2 bookings in your name but the desk person is unable to confirm the exact rate/fees, so you give up and keep your Expedia booking. 3. When you check in, with your family of 4 mid-road trip, to find your actual room ‘view’ and no access to rear of property, you complain to desk staff who shrug that you ‘should really book direct’ as if your (already) overpriced room is not worth their time. Dear hotel, if you do not want to treat all customers equally, do not partner with hotel booking sites!
4. While showering you notice water leaking out of bathroom. You pick up the drain cover to find filthy mold and clogged hair that must be removed in order to safely shower without flooding the room below. Ditto the bathroom sink. Yuk.
5. You will continue to received unsolicited texts from 'desk staff' that night offering you 30% off if you book same room for another night. When you respond with photos of bathroom mess, you receive no response.
To conclude - So many other great hotels and inns in this lovely area! Save yourself and book somewhere that is sanitary, offers breakfast and doesn’t try to fish for your reservation via constant texting. Not to be trusted!

Fortunately, we only stayed here one night. We arrived after dark and in the rain, and were assigned #330 for our 3rd floor double Queen bay view room. We had changed our reservation from using points at their request via text to paying via credit card for a slightly better rate. In the morning, we discovered that we had probably the worst view in the entire resort between two high brick walls with a little river showing between. When we complained when we checked out, we were given a manager’s card. No response yet to calls and a text. The hotel had about five cars in the parking lot, so there were definitely other rooms we could have been given. Very unnecessary alienation of customers.
The breakfast offered was a packaged piece of pound cake:(
I can understand why others would be happy with the place, as it seemed that every other room had a nice view. Sadly, not our experience…

Great hotel, great location and great views! We have been staying in this area for over 20 years now and this hotel seems to be a hidden gem. Our friends have a house near footbridge beach and the price was great, it was easy to get to our friends, the beds were extremely comfortable (which is not always the case in this area), and the views were spectacular! We will definitely stay again!
