We stayed a few days in an ocean facing room with a balcony. The views are great loved drinking our morning coffee at sunrise on the balcony. If all you want to do is hang out on the beach all day this is the place for you.
Last minute trip to our favorite place. Love the balcony rooms which have new slider doors and new privacy panels on the balcony which are so much better! Beds are incredibly comfortable (more on the firm side) and a ton of TV channels. K-cup coffee and fridge in room. They have a Pepsi machine next to the ice machine by the pool. LOVE the fact that this is a pet free and smoke free facility. Parking lot is tight so if you have a large vehicle it's tricky.
Excellent staff that upgraded our room for free. Friendly, very clean and the beds were amazing! Right on the beach, slept with window open a bit and listened to the waves crashing in and fresh sea air. We slept for 11 hours which hardly ever happens. Highly recommend this hotel.
This is exactly what we were looking for- the rare East coast motel room with a balcony on the beach. We were on the pool (first floor) level, just a few steps down to sand. The floors and bedding were in great shape, and the room itself exceptionally clean. Balcony furniture seemed new. The room is not large, but the location and balcony make up for it. We bought boogie boards and other gear at nearby Remy’s store. We could hear walking in the room above us, but it was not bothersome. My only complaint is that the location of the AC (near entry door, somewhat in the closet area) made it difficult to circulate cool air. A fan in the room would be a great addition. This place is not fancy, but it was a well kept up, friendly staffed motel with an amazing location.
The front desk service is why I’m not giving this motel 4 stars. I booked a last minute trip because my father unexpectedly passed at 61 years old. I was fortunate to find a place to stay, I recognize that. My original reservation was for 2 nights but upon my arrival I asked for a 3rd night. They could accommodate but I would need to pack up all of my stuff and change rooms. At the time, I said ok. The next day (Sunday) I decided the trip was far my draining than I had imagined and I didn’t want to spend anymore time than I needed too. If I was going to pack up all of my bags on Monday to change rooms, I might as well just put them in the car and go back home. I went to the front desk at lunchtime and there was an older women with a short haircut. Honestly, I was emotionally drained from the circumstances of my trip but this women was down right rude. I explained to her the above and asked if I could please cancel my 3rd night. If I was going to pack my bags, I would rather just go home. She laughed at me. Yes, she laughed at me. She downright told me “No, if you want to go home, go home but I don’t have time to rebook that room so I’m not giving you a credit” I couldn’t believe her heartlessness and lack of compassion and customer service. I was hit with the sudden loss of my father and needing to book a last minute, unplanned trip, coming up with $1200 for 3 nights and this women didn’t care to work with me in the least. I found it so terribly sad. Especially because there are signs plastered all over town about “being kind” to staff. I will never forget my experience and it will likely sour me from ever returning to Wells. I turned in my key on Monday morning and left the motel immediately having incurred the expense of an extra night that I did not use.…
Can't beat the view and location to the ocean. The rooms are super clean, great location .. Loved watching the waves and the tide come in and almost up to the building. We came during off season so it was pretty quiet. The only thing I would do differently if I was to come and stay again is get a top floor room as the person above us stomped and stomped continuously and then woke up at 4 am and started again. You can hear everything ... The people running the place were super nice and friendly. I loved being able to walk down the steps and have the ocean at my feet. I would definitely recommend this to people who are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.
Took a short weekend vacation at the seaside and this motel was perfect. Large, clean rooms right on the beach with perfect weather and not too many people made this an extremely enjoyable visit and we'll definitely be back in the future. Relatively minor niggle was that the rooms/ceilings are pretty thin, but nobody was unduly boisterous, and we're early risers, so it didn't impact us too much. Worth mentioning both the lady that checked us in and the lady that did the housekeeping were extremely friendly and polite, and that the motel was doing a great job with their pandemic precautions. Overall, a great experience and a very positive impression of the place.
What a wonderful place to stay. The exceptionally clean.rooms were great. Nothing fancy, but the beds comfortable. We stayed in a oceanfront balcony room. The view alone was to die for. The young people that run tjis motel were very nice and helpful.
We had room 17, pool level. Lovely, spacious, well appointed, and I love our balcony Our room was one floor up from the smooth sandy beach beneath your feet, after you descend the outside staircase. A few more steps, if the tide' s in, and your bare feet are in the water . Its chilly, but there were paddle boarders and even a couple of surfers, we enjoyed watching. The sound of the waves relieves all stress. Social distancing is observed, withba smile, by the kind of people who choose this small, hidden gem. Staff is very nice. Veey helpful. Parking tight on premises is safe, too. Environment is immaculate.. Right now masks are required inside the office. The ocean breezes are constant, but the temperature was low 70s. Perfectly safe to leave your sliding door open, all night. The sound if the waves produces a sound, restful sleep. We really didnt want to leave. I have NEVER heard my stay at home husband say " I hate to leave", but he said it as we prepared to check out. And he said " Next year lets stay longer, THAT, my friends, is darn near miraculous. Better book ahead....this little gem has developed a following, and feels like home.…
We stay here as much as possible. You can't get any closer to the ocean! We prefer the balcony rooms but if we can't get one of those we like the ground level ocean front. The windows open up and you are right at the beach! Sometimes the high tide comes right below the seawall by your windows. Fridge, microwave and Keurig in your room. Staff are excellent.
